I have a full compliment of the Razor line, starting with the Razor 3, Razor+, Razor Excess V1, and the Razor Elite. The buzz on the Excess V'2 is high praise. For now, I have a collection of 27 pairs of running shoes of many brands and usage purposes. I still like to keep up on the latest developments. Thanks for the report Chad. To round out my Skechers collection, I also have the Max Road 5 and the Speed Freek.
I haven't tried the Max road 5 yet but it's one that I would be interested in getting under foot. I like the Razor Excess 2 over the 1 because it has a more comfortable upper. Everything else is extremely similar even with the flexible carbon plate in v2.
The Speed Freek and Excess 2 are completely different shoes. The midsole is similar but the carbon plate is completely different. The Speed Freek has a much stiffer carbon plate and really is designed for fast running. The Excess 2 is more of your daily trainer that's light and nimble enough that you can do some speed runs with it successfully. It's a great single do it all trainer. I put over 200 miles in the Excess 2 and enjoy it for anything from an easy run to a tempo run, and with 150 miles in the Speed Freek, I can confirm that it really is best for faster workouts and doesn't do as well for easy paces.
They feel very similar to the original Excess, which is a good thing. Took them out for their debut run this morning and they simply felt great! They're comfortable, lightweight, and provide a springy and responsive ride.
Basically! The upper is more comfortable. Same midsole feeling and outsole. Carbon H plate is new in v2, can't really tell that it's there but that's probably a good thing.
Hi, running warehouse website says the razor excess 2 has 34mm in the heel and 30mm in the forefoot whereas original excess 1 has 30mm in the heel and 26mm in the forefoot. Please can you get this discrepancy confirmed. Regards from India.
I've noticed that sometimes running warehouse website isn't necessarily accurate. My stats were from the Skechers website. Hope that helps and if I misspoke any stats, I apologize in advance.
@@SeeChadRun Pardon but absolutely no need to apologise. Moreover I wanted to know the exact specifications for the stack height. Thanks for the clarification.
Great question! Yes, in the first version I developed a small blister which did go away and never returned. In v2, I've put in almost 50 miles and have not had any blisters or sore spots. V1 seems to have a slightly wider toe box compared to v2, but I personally feel that v2 is better and more comfortable.
If it wasn't for the h plate, I'd try em out.... I really don't like plates.... I'll wait and see if the Razor Plus 2 has no plate and has the hyperarc...... Nice looking shoes but bro.....
While the Razor Excess 2 is very lightweight and provides a bouncy and responsive ride, I wouldn't say it's a competitor to the Streakfly. The Razor Excess 2 is a great shoe for those daily miles, tempo runs, and could even be used as a race day shoe for the average athlete.
I couldn't agree with you more! A room for recording and maybe an actual mic setup! Between you and I, I'm actually looking to move houses soon and the plan is to find a house with a dedicated office that I'll also convert into a recording studio. Stay tuned for more!

Oh, Thanks for watching and commenting!
Any comparison between Speed Freek and Excess? Is Excess a poor man's Speed Freek?

Snazzy looking shoes! Great initial impressions!

its the same shoes with a few changes. Great video! 👍🏾

@@SeeChadRun yeah! Lets see if the carbon plate works in this model. Anyway... i liked the new color. Better than the previous one. See ya! 👍🏾
How much miles do you have with you excess 1 ? Thanks from Brazil !
I put over 550 miles in the Excess 1.

hi, how is your experience with this shoe toe box? in the first excess you said you have blister, how is it on this shoe?

Nice looking shoes but bro.....
The H plate is hardly noticeable in all honestly... Comparing v1 with v2, I'd take v2.
Streakfly competitor?
While the Razor Excess 2 is very lightweight and provides a bouncy and responsive ride, I wouldn't say it's a competitor to the Streakfly. The Razor Excess 2 is a great shoe for those daily miles, tempo runs, and could even be used as a race day shoe for the average athlete.
better than takumi sen 8 ??
I haven't tried the takumi sen 8, although I'd love to get my feet in a pair. The Razor Excess 2 is cheaper and can be used for more variety of runs.
I like the look of the original excess they look sporty and modern, I can actually wear them in public
Excess2 upper looks outdated

Excess2 on clerance on zappos and runningwarehouse $79. Just received my 4 pairs of speedlight, so ill skip this sale
That's a great deal!
You need to have your private recording room.
