Excellent tutorial!!! I have done hundreds of alternator jobs and that top bolt 🔩 looks like the most problematic part of this job. But you made it simple for me. Thanks for sharing 🙏😊
Also got a nasty burning rubber/oil smell in the cabin when battery/brake /light started flickering. Do I have to replace the belts too when changing out alternator? Thanks for the vid since I have exact same vehicle
Just finished my alternator on my 05 max, first time doing it hahaha took me 6 hours, I stripped the nut behind the tensionar, was a mission but gotter
Guys this might be a stupid question.. but damn, do you HAVE TO remove the radiator to do this job? Bro i have a general basic knowledge of cars overall but im no freaking mechanic
makes the job easier to remove things especially if you dont want to f up the radiator by banging something against it when trying to take out the old alternator but if ur careful, patient, and have smaller hands it can be done and save you some time by having one less thing to take out and put back
Removing the negative terminal is not the way to figure out if you need an Alternator. That only works for cars that don't have CPU's. These cars have CPU's, and if you remove either of the battery cables. The CPU loses power and the car cuts off
@@NOliveira-dz3l use a multimeter. Put Red lead on back of alternator, put Black lead to negative post on battery, if it ain't putting 13.7v-14.5v back to the battery. It's bad
If the alternator isn't working disconnecting the terminal will cause the car to shut down because the car is being powered through the battery. If the alternator is working disconnecting the negative terminal will have no effect because the alternator is generating the power to run the car.
Those engineers have some explaining to do with the placement of the alternator.
ya think 😂
You did an excellent job explaining the process. Thank you
You my friend should have a million followers this is by far the best alternator video for the Nissan I found and I've watched like 20 of them
Appreciate you ‼️✊🏽🫡
@@JulesMechanicsyo so I have to loosen the 14mm on the pulley & then release the tension up top ?
@@thedonp6442 yes both.
I have 2003 a33 5th gen. Will altenator fit out from the top? Some videos teach to remove it downside with ac lowered down.
Can you post a list of the tools you used
Bro what type of bolt is that with the hook?
Just took off mine today thx to u my guy, keep up the good content!

Does it have to be a swivel socket to get the alternator nut loose or can it be a regular socket ratchet that doesn't swivel on a 2004 max
Thank you for the video. Helluva walkthrough made the swap a breeze.
Where does the "hook" part go on the long bolt?
Great video man, I just did this job and I just came across your video lol

Would change the belts if they look worn out
I appreciate this video and how you explained things.
Thank you for the video man my alternator was so bad wasn’t even getting response from the transmission
Thank you Bravo. I just removed the alternator on my 07 max se. I took out radiator thankful I didn’t have to hold a camera. Great work man. 💯

Excellent explanation 👍
Will this work for 2007 Nissan Altima ?
@@GeneG-wk2mz should same motor
Great video bro, very specific 👍🏽 and clear, thank-you 😊
No torque on the belt pully?
Thanks for helping me bro 🤘🏻

How do I remove the connector to fan?
You're the best.
How to replace a blower motor switch in a 2007 nissan maxima?

Interesting. How would you test it

@@orionsimerl6539 not true. The CPU will lose power as soon as you remove the negative cable, and then the vehicle will die/cutt off

All those Nissan alternators are crap. I replaced 4 of them on my 2005 V6 Altima. Same exact process.
I feel the same way. I also have an 04 Silverado and the alternator it’s way easier than this lol I love my Silverado easy to work on
How do u remove the connector to fan
It's not the alternator. It's the valve cover that leaks oil into the alternator. Fix the valve covers and seal them.
@mef12727 There was no oil on any of them, and the valve cover was not leaking on mind.
My car went into limp mode after I put in the alternator..any advice?
What’s the name or where did you get that bleeding funnel
