Would love to see more videos in this style, just crushing hard routes with commentary. Specifically from you, Jakob, as you have a bit of a reputation for being a downgrader it's nice to hear the exact details of how different beta is used and how that informs your opinion when you offer your personal grade, it makes a lot of sense.

Great videos, I like the authenticity and consiseness (no long drive-and-walk-to-the-crag scenes...), thanks for the footage! In such cases, where you don't have your filming team with you, wouldn't it be possible to ask just any regular climber who is trolling around in Cornudella if he was up to filming you on this day? I think if I would be there (being a really mediocre climber), I would happily come and hold up the mobile phone to take some shots of you... ;)

He does mention the crag is very hard so there's no "mediocre" climbers around and the area is generally desolate unless some crushers come by

Please do a detailed video of the "behind the scenes"! How do you get ready/ warmed up for such a climb? That would be much more useful beta for a wider audience who doesn't climb 9a/+, but climbs on very cold days and suffers because the fingers are too cold...

The way I do it, is that the first go will always be terrible, your fingers will freeze and you won't send besides if it's an easy route for you. If it's a project I plan out where I'll be able to rest so that I can warm up my fingers (usually I put my fingers on my neck). Before you get on do some jumping jacks or something to get your heart rate up, then climb fast to the rest to warm up the hands. If you can't want up your hands try hard and hope for the best lol
Also if you do arc training at home or at the climbing gym it will help deliver more blood to your fingers/forearms

Looked like a walk in the park really. Amazing. How's the skin? Remember your last year's issues, is it any better?

    • @CJski

Not really. You still have all the bolts you clipped on the way up which are there to catch a fall. He did come in with a little more swing into the wall but regular climbers are used to falling with their feet ready and out in front of them.
