NOT ONLY was Mel Brooks in WW2, he is a D-day survivor and a Battle Of The Bulge survivor. The list of names for people that survived both is not very long. Also, ya know what he DID? Mine defusing. The man defused landmines. I heard that he once said that to survive something like WW2 you have to already be crazy, have a great sense of humor, or preferably...both.
Mel Brooks is a genius. The atrocities of the holocaust are so savage that Mr Brooks believes humor is the only way to overcome it. People are limited or don’t grasp his brilliance. God bless him. He was a veteran himself.
When Mel started his career he had a goal of making one million dollars mocking and making fun of Hitler. The last time he checked his net worth it was $100,000,000 !!!
A guy tried making something he’d done give him power over others, then had to deal with the reality that what he was leaning on, was done by the person he was trying to control.
This actor is in a lot of things. He was also in an episode of “ The Nanny “ as Jeffrey Needleman, a guy trying to win over Fran Fine and they end up doing ‘ The Hustle ‘ dance in the middle of a restaurant. 😆

Mel Brooks is not a D-Day survivor. He only arrived in Europe in November 1944.
@@PercivalC right lol 😆
One of my uncles was one of his instructors in demolition.
I fully agree with one of the reviews of Springtime For Hitler. "It was shocking, outrageous, and insulting and I enjoyed every minute"
It's good to be the King
If they ever make a Mel Brooks biopic, I elect Richard Kind to play him
I think Richard Kind would be better as Carl Reiner
@@goldsmith1210regardless of who Richard Kind should be in it.
To have a comeback loaded up that quickly is a marvellous talent
Mel brooks is one of the funniest people in history
Love Mr Brooks
I see what you did there 😂
Richard Kind, love his performance in A Serious Man.
Mel brooks was in the Battle of the Bulge
My king
The genius of Mel Brooks lol
Why would you be insulted by a play/movie that mocks Nazis.
This is America.
Either bc they don't get it or bc their pain is so acute that they don't have the capacity to joke.
imho
He didn’t say what side he was on
And that's why Mel Brooks is good to be the king.
Good for you, Mel! Self-righteous people need to be addressed as such.
Mere mortals can’t touch him.
Amen
He has been to war wow mad respect f
In order to be insulted by The Producers you must’ve been on the losing side.
He looks like Doug DeMuro.
Did the guy say which side he was on?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Why is that funny?
Mel brooks served in the war.
A guy tried making something he’d done give him power over others, then had to deal with the reality that what he was leaning on, was done by the person he was trying to control.
The person complaining was probably a cook miles from action, those involved wouldn't be so precious hence Mel's response
You are obviously of the cult go away, your cult has no sense of humour. 😅
"I was in World War Two"
Which side though? That's the question
Combat engineer for 1104th Engineering Combat Batallion US Army, He participated in the Battle of the Bulge
Thats not Mel Brooks.
Does it say it’s Mel Brooks? Nope
His name is Richard Kind. He's a great but under utilized actor.
