Well if you were calculating the distance using the map, it wouldn't be that useless. We used it with a friend like that and had fun shooting spawn-to-spawn at the start of the game if the map allowed

I don't think the game was designed for indirect fire, while it can be done, aiming at the sky and hope you actually hit something is very awkward and not engaging, also calculating distances and where the enemy should be requires a lot of guessing, you have limited tools for that, I hate to admit it but even artillery in WoT is better than this, they actually have a system designed for it that's much better than this and more fun, even tho artillery is bullshit and people hate being the receiving end

@@bigman6871 You don't need to aim at the sky - you need to use range lines and a combination of map squares (You are given the size of the squares with the arrow) and estimate the height difference.
It takes a lot of getting used to, but once you do it, lolkilling open tops feels extremely rewarding. For you, off course. For them it feels like pure helplessness.

@@burningsinner1132 that's exactly what I'm talking about, I just simplified it, point is you are not aiming at anything on your screen, you are playing Battleship(game) inside War Thunder and you don't even get to know when or where your shots land, you can play like that but the game is clearly not designed to be played that way, it's meant to be played like a shooter with direct line of sight of your enemy

this is an artillery vehicle which should work from the second or third line! what do you expect from it?

Historically, both Katyusha and Andryusha were mainly utilized as ambush BFG vehicles - because ammunition reserves weren't giving you chances to reach needed saturation for your fire.
As such, these vehicles were using either special kind of trench or a combination of steel beam and reinforced outriggers to get the needed depression.
The problem is that all rocket artillery needing such help can't use outriggers (Because Gaijin never implemented them) and can't find a dozer blade within a team (Many people look down on it, but it's a real killer for times when you need that extra depression and got the time to ready yourself) at their BR.
