Play Naval and get yourself a premium destroyer on sale now. You will get a ton of SL and very quickly train your crews. Matches are more relaxed there. Just try to sit back a little and not rush caps.
After watching 2 of these videos, I'm sure I'll never get the Ersatz M10 this way. I used probably 700,000 SL on Snow Globes and the best I got was the 1 million SL. No vehicles or anything useful outside of boosters.

Honestly from the perspective of a WoWs player, WT’s lootboxes are awful ESPECIALLY compared to the current Christmas event in WoWs, it’s not even a fair comparison. I’ve literally gotten 60+ days of premium for free, and the amount of high quality boosters has been great.
Can't speak for the quality of boxes now, but for both WoT and WoWS, I've gotten insanely good value from them in the past. I used to buy a few dozen every Christmas season and get multiple premium vehicles and months worth of premium out of it. Since the boxes actually cost money though, Wargaming guaranteed whatever you get from the boxes are at least equal to the value of what you spent e.g you spent $5 for a box and get a week of premium as the lowest possible reward.

The real scam part is no dupe evasion bias (Which is understandeable for coupons, but NOT direct items). That E.B.R. 1954 is a very lucky drop though. Vehicle is a beast.

So I try not to use up all my bonds on just backups. I do save up the SL for these occasions to offset how I spend all the currencies.
