    I love how you often call yourself ‘cheap’ but actually from my point of view it is SO HELPFUL AND REFRESHING to watch videos from a UK working mum who doesn’t have unlimited funds and gifted everything and five holidays a year and can actually give advice on useful budgeting. Applause!! 👏🏻👏🏻

    I think it is important to say that formula fed babies sleep longer sooner as you give them more food. There is less of a feeding bond so feeds are quicker and perhaps more efficient. So if you're breastfeeding do not think you're doing something wrong! My little was breast fed until 16 weeks, was happier on formula and from 6 months he slept 12 hours through. And still does at 15 months. So I have nothing against formula because I used it, but its important breastfeeding mamas understand.
    Daytime sleep is crucial. I used the app huckleberry from 11 weeks as routine doesn't happen until then. Huckleberry predicts naps and it was bang on for me.
    Love your content

    This is so helpful! I’m currently 32 weeks so a very nervous first time mum to be!
    Can I ask, do you do this 3,7,11 from day one or is it difficult to set this routine in the first few weeks??

    Great tips. We did pretty much the same with our 12 week old son and he slept through from 6 weeks too but he had major bowel surgery 2 weeks ago and now it’s like having a newborn again.. up every 2 hours 😩 hopefully he’ll go back to it soon! 💗

    When you were doing the 7, 11, 3 rule, we’re you waking him for the 3am feed or did he wake naturally?
    My baby sleeps well until 4am, but then he struggles to go back to sleep so not sure if I woke him earlier it may help him get back to sleep?
    He also seriously fights his daytime naps (he has only just gone down for his second nap today!), so we’re trying to work on these as I know how important daytime sleep is for nighttime sleep!

      Hey! We were waking him up right at the beginning (until like 3 weeks) but generally he would wake up himself between 3am and 4am!
      I feel your pain with the daytime naps! I genuinely find that white noise is the best thing for when George is fighting his sleep but I can tell he’s tired!! 💪🏼

    We do the same except he dropped the 11pm feed rather than the 3am I was gutted!! But what I've done is feed him about 6pm just 4oz rather than 7pm and then at the 7pm I offer 6oz so he can take as he needs which usually is 2oz more than in the day and has made him skip the 3am so now he goes 7 till 7!!

    Hey! When you feed George his 11pm feed do you burp him too? Also, did you burp him when you fed him for the 3am feed? My little boy doesn't usually burp during his night feed even if I try!

    • @HomeWithShan
      @HomeWithShan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We do try to yeah but sometimes he doesn’t burp and doesn’t seem to mind! Hit and miss really! 🙈

    I wonder if this is just for bottle feeding babies as I don't think it's so regular for breastfeeding? My baby is doing a more 3 hour mark and 6 hours during the night...

    • @Tamara.brown1993

      My little girl is 6weeks and eats every 2 hours during the day but usually sleeps from around 11pm till 4/5am... I feel like the rule of making sure they get enough feeds through the day definitely works breastfeeding or bottle feeding but obviously like you say the gaps aren't as big for a breastfed baby! I'm usually doing between 8-10feeds a day currently, if your baby sleeps longer I'd love to tips! X
