Beautiful Shawls you have made. At moment I really like learning how crochet. love Hobbii yarn. love your happy mail. you are awesome Gary, live from Tas Aussie Land.👍👍👍👍👍👍
hiya gary! for the roll that didnt block out...i would roll/fold it under (toward the underside) then simply and lightly stitch it down. there is a lot to try to flatten out by blocking. its a lovely piece. you are terrific with colors. btw, lots of upcycle alpaca is on sale/clearance. hugs to you, chad and pixel!!
Hi Gary, I really love the shawls you are making. I can't wait to see what you make out of those mini skeins. And omg Pixel is looking gorgeous. Glad you are feeling better.
Hanks Cowl looks like it is gorgeous. If you made it I know it has to be gorgeous. OMG THAT KNITTED PATTERN YOU MADE IS AMAZING. I LOVE THE COLORS. YOUR MUSTACHE SYNDROME THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD GARY YOU'RE CRAZY. I LOVE CRAZY 🤣😂😂
I'm glad you're feeling better, it shows 😊love your wips, and purchases. Really love the deep rainbow mini hanks ❤ Your happy mail was incredible, you deserve it. Happy days to you and yours 😊🥰💛💚💙.
😱🩵 you work is always sooooo beautiful! And your color combinations are absolutely Stunning! No wonder Hobbii gifted you that yarn! Gorgeous 🥰♥️Would love to go yarn shopping with you one day ❤one can dream right 😂 You and Shannon over at Just Another Yarn always amaze me with your knitting 🥹
Hi Gary.Beautiful shawls. Great colors. Nice yarn haul. I like the novelty sparkle thread. The minis sounds like they were named after Adele. Pixel is too cute.
Oh my stars! Is there anything you can’t do? 😂 Your makes are gorgeous! I have to wait until later this week to order my Twill, but I’m so excited for it! Thank you for sharing, Gary. Pixel is a doll. 🥰🧶🐕
Hi Gary, your makes are always so amazingly beautiful and your nack for putting colors together is phenomenal. Totally enjoyed this video. Hi to Chad n hugs to Pixel.
LOL - sounds like a great hot dog toppings (...a bit of greens and mustard). You'll have to forgive me, I've been looking at the computer screen all day!
Dear Gary, ❤❤❤ Happy to see that you are feeling better. Love the Colourist shawl, my only idea would be (against the moustachy look) to knit or to crochet a border/an edge.. Have a nice week
Hey glad you all enjoyed your box. Your sparkle socks are a shawl in a ball as well. I’ll look for the colour way. The squin yarn I use for hats. It adds some bling to a super simple hat pattern like a Ross Hat. Glad Pixel is having such a good time at classes.
Great shawl projects, Gary. You always choose such wonderful color combinations. Hank is looking very dapper in his Cobblestone Cowl too. We got snow down here last night and supposed to snow again tonight!! What a very odd February.... Guess I'll just keep making hats :)
I can understand that confusion too with the weather. We had slush and ice - when only a few days ago we were in 2 figure temps (of course that would be in Celsius).
Hi Gary! I always love waking up to see a new video from you. It makes my day! Love all of your makes and thank you so much for sharing them. Hugs to you, Chad, and adorable Pixel!
The shawls are so gorgeous. Your knitting skills are excellent and the color/fabric combinations are right on. Looking forward to seeing what greatness you create with all your new yarn. Your happy mail would make me very happy too, especially the handmade items. 🥰
Hi Joyce - thanks for commenting. I'm in thought about putting all the souvenir happy mail yarns from farm to yarn - into a sweater and every time I wear it, it'll remind me of all the places others have thought of me while they travelled.
I love that overlay stitch on your shawl Gary- I have added a crochet border on knit edges to help overcome a rolling edge issue like that- I did two rows of single crochet edging - I did like the look of that edge showing the wrong side when you had the shawl on though 😊
I agree about the crochet to fix a rolling edge. I have done that with a knit cocoon sweater sleeve. I added crochet cross stitches and that helped and was decorative. I do think it was a tension problem, Gary, in the beginning to cause the curl. I have to remind myself to not start those rows too tight when using a garter tab. But really lovely and inspiring, Gary :) Thank you for sharing.
Hi Lynnanne - I've been watching your progress on the upcycle wearable you've been working on and it's very much inspired me to do a wearable too. BTW - your raglan cardigan is stunning. I was watching on TV this morning and couldn't comment, but I will do that now!
You know I am not going to leave until you are done.🎉🎉 I did not know green was your favorite color. I will have to treat you like I do Crystal and I hope you understand why I do what I do.
There are so many TH-camrs I would love to watch but I've had to cut back because I don't have time to crochet if I'm watching TH-cam. I had to choose my favorites and just stick with them and it usually takes me a while to catch up on the stuff that you put out. But of course darling you I kept. I love watching your videos. I finally had to buy yarn and I loved it. Now I have to save for groceries. Good thing is I had food.
Thank you! 😊 ...I'm sometimes the same way with my crafting - at times I like the new learn and others I want to lose myself in the work (not having to count or stop and assess).
I love the Ronaldsy yarn. It looks a bit like the yarn I am working with from the alpaca ranch. It's a blend of wool and alpaca. I'm working on fingerless mitts, headbands, hikers socks and such. I love it!
Your stitch work is so beautiful! I love the shawls (they are my favorite). I'm glad you are feeling better. Hugs to Chad and Pixal (and to you, of course). Thanks for sharing your life with us, your friend from Utah, US. 💜🩵🩷
Hi Donna - I would keep trying to play as much with any leftover yarn you have and experiment. There's so much fun and it's a good way to build up some of your favourite personal colour combos.
I use the premier thread to make fancy doll dresses I have also held it with a fingering wt yarn to make fancy evening shawls for my nieces proms, parties et al 😊
A wonderful surprise post today. Thanks Gary! Such wonderful treats - yarny and foodie! Your household sure has a lot of sweet teeth. I haven't seen the show you mentioned. I am excited to see the new series Shogun on Disney+ this week. I remember watching the original way back when as well as reading the novel. Take care and hugs for Chad + Pixel.
Hi Valerie! I'm so happy to have snuck in a video earlier this week. Thanks for flagging that there's a new Shogun series. I watched the original mini-series back in the day as well. Was it Richard Chamberlain? (just checked and that's a name that I haven't thought about in ages).
That knitted mesh shawl color way is so pretty. ❤❤ I love that you do experiments..😅 you had me laughing out loud at the fact you aren't using the jade and red twist.😅 have you watched the new True Detectives? With Jodi Foster .

Thanks for the tip on the curl. I've got a sense to see if it wears itself straight and then perhaps add a crochet row to the top and reassess.
Hi Gary, I really love the shawls you are making. I can't wait to see what you make out of those mini skeins. And omg Pixel is looking gorgeous. Glad you are feeling better.

Hi Gary. I saw the grocery girls used that sparsely yarn held with something else. They made gorgeous sweaters with it.

Ross of Smells Like Yarn uses the glittery yarn and mixes it with another yarn. I don't know if he uses that fabric as a wearable.
I think I saw that unboxing from Ross and a few hats he made with the shiny sparkle yarn.
I've knit several shawls using the tab start and some have huge "mustache" shapes and some are barely noticeable. I would compare the pattern tab instructions to see how different they are. Stephen West's garter tabs are great. Not sure if acrylic vs wool makes a difference other than in blocking.
