Back in September, I was attempting to make one of these and ended up getting 10 stitches in my lip after the block of wood flew off of the lathe, It busted completely through my top lip so I had to get 5 stitches inside and 5 stitches outside, my grandma got me the lathe for my 14th birthday in 2020, only took me 2yrs to get hit. lol

Oh man, that sucks. I’ve had several things go flying off the lathe myself. Including a few bowls that flat out exploded. I have a face shield which I recommend wearing every time. I may not always wear mine but I definitely should for just such an occurrence.
