  • Coleton and Ryan from ‪@OutofSpecReviews‬ take a look at the Mercedes-Benz AMG EQE SUV to analyze its exterior and interior build quality. Does this luxury barge warrant the premium over mainstream competitors like a Tesla Model Y? Watch to find out!

    Just came across your channel and found myself agreeing with you 100%. The body shape is something that I'm finding difficult to love but I'm sure i will when my one arrives. I think it's because it's so different to what we're used to seeing in a car and these new ev cars are trying to change our perspective. Anyway thank you and Hello from N E Scotland.👍😎

    In Vegas, you can get one, in fact Las Vegas and Henderson Mercedes dealerships have the 2024 EQE AMG, same spec for $120k

    I personally think the EQE AMG SUV is a awesome car you can get different colors for the interior as I would and I do agree the washer fluid receptacle could be in a better position maybe even like BMW in the front coin like emblem but overall a awesome vehicle.

    I'd much rather have a Q8 E-Tron. The design is much more elegant and timeless, vs the "Miami Disco" interior on this thing, as you put it. As a 25 year old software engineer who loves gaming, I think the over abundance of LEDs look like a 13 year old's Fortnite bedroom. Unprofessional was a good way to put it. Please tell Mercedes that this is not the future that Gen-Z wants. Clean, minimal, convenience-oriented, Apple-fied/Tesla-fied software and UI experiences are dominating the industry for a reason!

    My brother is a mechanic at a MB dealer so I have the good fortune of testing most of their new cars. I am overall highly disappointed in the latest interiors. The tech became the design, rather than integrating the tech into the design. With regard to materials, I really like that recycled suede at the top of the door panels - it feels very premium. I also like how they are introducing more colors and improving the options list (making searching for well-equipped used cars easier). The current S & EQS have fine build quality and good materials - but the design is worse than the w222 gen S. The EQE should not have those hard-touch plastics throughout! It's too cheap to even be a C-class tier car. It's really unacceptable. However, I am seeing that the W214 E-class, which is the same level as the EQE, has soft touch everywhere. I am surprised they would make that call, but I'm pleased because I am an E-Class owner and won't get an electric car until the technology and infrastructure improves. The new w206 C class is pathetic and worse than the prior generation in every way except tech. It drives awful and the interior has no place in a MB. Brakes are poorly calibrated and feels heavier than my E. If you want a hard-plastic-filled MB just to sport the badge, just get the CLA or GLB, which drive better. It pisses me off that the CLE has that same interior. They should have at least put more soft touch throughout. In the prior-gen MB, they had the best materials, but was screwed together poorly. Now they have simpler designs and worse materials. Yet, I am not seeing a huge improvement in the build quality though. Overall, I will be sticking with my E-coupe which has a better looking interior, physical buttons, and soft touch on the doors and dash rather than the crappy hard plastic and capacitive buttons.

      Reminds me of quartz watches. When they first came out every one thought they were better and mechanical watch values and brands went bankrupt. Fast forward 40 years and mechanical watches are premium and quartz are cheap. Same goes for interior. Just because you can put it on a touchscreen doesn't mean you should. Customer touch and feel materials are the brands identity.

    • @tool8337
      @tool8337 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@philipparana9225 Yeah - that's a great analogy. Like A. Lange & AP are exponentially more valuable than apple watches. Who is dazzled by screens in 2023 when everyone has 4k 244hz OLED TVs and high end phones? The answer is nobody. It would have been cool 15 years ago. The MBUX software looks and works great but there's a reason Rolls Royce uses wood and real metal switchgear. The tech should work well but not detract from the luxury car's prime directive.

    • @SDav21
      @SDav21 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally agree. The new C Class interior material quality is pathetic. The entire lower half of its doors and dash is hard plastic. Truly awful.

    Why is it that no one talks about the incredible safety structure of Mercedes Benz or Volvo for that matter, when doing their comparisons to other vehicles? The technology too, but this is why I buy Mercedes.

    12:41 Strange that Mercedes decided on a lack of covers for the charging ports on the expensive models, when the lower end of the EQ lineup has covers for both charging ports.

    I don't understand: why in EVERY car people with some expertise - but not car designers - find several obvious issues? How come nobody in big car companies did not see it during many months of car development phase?
    They have money to spend on some issues - as the car is expensive, they have expertise, they have everything to make it right.
    Again: it's not a production problem, it's a design problem.
    Same is true for all ICE cars.
    Cheap cars can't be judged in the same way, as they don't have the same budget, and companies have to cut convers a lot.

    Also I love the detail and nuance in your videos. I wish more reviewers would be more critical of the materials quality. I feel that it would influence buyers, which would prevent the manufacturers from getting away with this unacceptable cheap garbage. With that said, I strongly disagree with your opinions on black interiors. I personally enjoy the bright environment over the dark. I keep my cars clean. The steering wheel doesn't get grimy. The carpets don't get discolored because I use rubber mats. Additionally, black shows just as much - if not more - dirt than light colors. The contrast of the dark background with lighter colored particles, hair, and scuffs is more offensive to me. In fact, I hate how basically half of all used cars are black on black. The general perception that black is easier to keep clean is a fallacy. Silver & white exteriors show the least dirt and defects. Grey, tan, and brown interiors show the least dirt and grime.

    Lot of minor issues on my Benz 2023 AMG GLE 53 as well - several plastic panels(exterior) are loose, AMG tag very loose(dealer said that's normal!). Interior lots of places creaky if pressed. Door seals look ugly/cheap. Not much better than my Tesla Model S in terms of build quality. Interior does "look" great and much better than Tesla, but build quality overall not as good as I expected.

      BS. Mercedes, BMW already on the same level as Tesla when it comes to tech. The reason Mercedes is the first ever 3 level brand to get approval internationally. The infotainment customization and features on the new EQ-line are already a head of Tesla in my opinion.
      OTA, self parking, self line changing are standard in most new flagship EV today.

      @@DxModel219 you must be living in a rural in the US. Come here in Norway to see how real DC fast charging looks. In Europe we use CCS 2 charging protocol and it works alongside Tesla Superchargers that also are mandated to be equipped with CCS 2 plug. Ionity, Fastned are two of the best, and they already offer alot of 350kW chargers alongside the highways. Tesla driving assistance is behind system from Mercedes, GM, Ford. The fact that Mercedes is the first to get certification i 3 level autonomous proved how far they are now.
