When ever I try to launch DJ max, It launches into the Psp screen and after it turns black for a few seconds it returns to the home page. What can be the issue here?

You're welcome😉 I absolutely love my old PSP 1000 , I know the 2000 & 3000 have better screens BUT they feel like cheap plastic toys compared to the 1000. Honestly in regards to comfort I like the 1000 over my Vita much more, it just feels like a quality built system. Ya those China batteries suck, its best to pull the lever on a more expensive one from a certified seller with good ratings. I had to buy one for mine after getting it off if eBay, I also had to buy a double pack of analog sticks cause the ones that came with the 1000's was defective like Nintendo's joycon. They always have drift problems but the aftermarket analogs feel way better a lot more smooth and responsive still not as good as the 3000 though. You should give just a bit more time with your captions man , cause it was hard reading them without having to pause. Thanks for sharing your love for the old PSP , I use my Vita more now but I still like using my PSP with certain games.

Can't you just buy a USB to barrel connection adapter and use it with a power bank?
try cleaning the connectors to see if it can read the battery
