Good reaction. Certainly my favorite version of Storytime. Seen it a lot of times. Floor nailed it and to be honest much better then Anette. She even was not an official member of Nightwish. This whole concert is amazing and Upness. Thanks, Terry, for requesting this one. Thanks for this reaction.

For me Wacken 2013 beat any other gig ive been too or Artists i've seen. Ive seen Nightwish 6 times, i was at Wembley for Live Aid, ive been to Glastonbury and Kerrand Awards, but this legendary concert was the best of them all.
They had two more shows after Wacken, then the tour would be over. The band had been on tour for a year and a half, and changed singer mid tour. And they all knew by then that Floor was the one. That's what all the smiles are about, the unity, they were a whole band again. And the love from the fans too.
Right?!? The *fan love* speaks volumes!!! They knew and felt NW were whole again, a unit. When you watch the entire concert, you see SO many people singing along with every piece. During “Last of The Wilds” you can see one guy screaming “NIGHTWISH IS BACK!” And in this one, I think the girl in the bright colors says it all. I mean seriously, arms thrown wide, head to the sky, singing “Every memory that you hold dear!”. If THAT doesn’t define the Nightwish experience I don’t know what would! (Okay, the Buenos Aires crowd during I Want My Tears Back too!)
At this point, Floor had only been with Nightwish for 10 months.

But you can see both Emppu and Marko look over at Floor with joy, exaltation and admiration every now and then during the whole show.

I concur! This concert put Nightwish back into the limelight! As for me....Storytime, this version at Wacken, is my favorite NW song!

I like to consider this Wacken show as the most successful audition for a band ever. People thought Tuomas was writing for Tarja and Annette, but in the end it's clear he was always writing for Floor. Rock on. 🤘😎👍
Hey Guy's, as always, a great review, it is such a joy, to watch music lovers, and music makers like you Harry, and Sharlene, when their faces start smiling, and their Jaws drop wide open when they hear and see this Amazing Band called Nightwish, and the Queen, of Metal, and everything ells that she sings, She just turns it into pure gold, Our Amazing Floor Jansen, who is a true gift to this world. She is often copied, but will never be bettered, I Loved it H and S. ❤❤Now bring on Estass.

I totally agree about Jukka. Kai is technically better. But Kai drums like he's peeling potatoes. Jukka really puts his heart and soul in every hit.

From the "innocence" operatic part until the end is utter perfection. With Nightwish and Floor you take it for granted that this is a live performance - perfection. Also, good call about the audience. They all know the lyrics and they look absolutely ecstatic to be there, as they should be.
Wacken 2013 raised the bar.

Greatest performance of Storytime. My favorite song by Nightwish. Also one of my favorite choruses of any song. Just amazing! Floor has said Everdream is the hardest song she has sung. If you haven't, check out the Wacken 2013 version of it. Definitely worth it!

Floor is the gift that keeps on giving....
Emppu following Floor up the scale with the pinch harmonics is one of my many favorite parts of this song. The opening bass line before the drums kick in is another. Jukka’s tom work was my favorite part of his drumming (apart from his personality back there) and this song really highlights that. 🤘.
Jukka’s intensity in this is mesmerizing.

Only thing about the subtitles in this one is when she sings the first high part, they say innocence, innocence but if you watch her, she says Neverland, innocence. Same in some of the other songs. I guess some lyrics changed a bit when Floor took over as lead. Love her, by the way.

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you guys witnessed a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!!
Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bullwhip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straightforward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.

Floor was giving it her best belting in this performance. Other versions seem she is conserving her power and singing in a more conservative mixed voice style. She knows what she needs to do to keep her voice strong and healthy on a long tour schedule.
The Wacken 2013 concert is one of the best concert I have ever seen on video right up there with Pink Floyd's Pulse concert. Great performances and great audio.

This seems to be the show where the band gelled as a whole, after, Annette leaving mod tour, the scars of Tarja where still sore, things came together here.
Empuu playes his signature EV-1 wich is based off of the ESP Horizon And Marco playes his Warwick Vampyre 4 string bass.

Hi guys, „long time no see“, tx for a great reaction, but I think, this was an easy one, because the band was phenomenal and Floor …..she is just amazing. Guys, do yourself a favor and check the opener at Wacken, it is called „Chest of wonders“…….I am 1000% sure, that you will enjoy it! If you don't heard it before, you should look up Nightwish song The Greatest show on earth and react to that. It's amazing.....
If you get the chance, listen to songs you've reacted to sung by Floor, then listen to the same song but from Annette n Tarja. You'll get (at least I do) a great understanding why so many took to Floor so quickly after Wacken 2013.

My favourite performance from my favourite concert, not much else to say. There are many songs where I prefer how Tarja or Anette start a song compared to how Floor starts it, some where I prefer their versions overall, but I don't think there are any where I prefer their final vocals to Floor's! She always comes up with something stunning.

I always like how Floor uses like an attack and release on the vocals. Also 2013 Wacken concert i believe is there best followed by Wembley Arena London but that my opinion based on Crowd energy, Lighting and effects, video quality, sound quality and overall performance. Also the camera panning makes a difference when watching from home. Thank you guys.

This performance is my absolute favorite nightwish piece. (with visuals) In my mind this is how this song and the band should be. Perfect performance and everybody all around happy and smiling. Makes me happy everytime I see it. Doesn't compare to the album version or other live performances of this song.
