- Tony with Newt and Crystal review Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead. In this Podcast / Movie Review of this new zombie flick we talk about all the stuff that makes it dumb. Like the drawn out melodrama, characters that are infuriating, and robot zombies. You read that last part right.
With the abandoned, walled city of Las Vegas overrun with zombies, after a disastrous government fault, the billionaire casino magnate, Bly Tanaka, realises that he has left something in Sin City: $200 million to be more precise. For the time being, his mountains of cash are safe behind his impenetrable casino vault; however, the US President plans to nuke the entire city in less than 96 hours. Now, Tanaka is willing to pay $50 million to the decorated former mercenary, Scott Ward, and his hand-picked team to retrieve the money before the bomb obliterates the city. Indeed, this is a life-changing offer Scott cannot refuse; nevertheless, the rules have changed, and the horde of the walking undead seems to be more organised than they might have expected. But, time is running out. Can they return from Vegas in one piece and rich?

If the nuclear bomb was one of thoses Hydrogen Bomb with a lead tamper instead of a uranium one, most of the fissile material undergoes fusion, and the fallout is pretty clean. He then may have survived walking out of there (but probably not the blast...).
I see you're cutting Newt out of the thumbnail to maximize clicks through the sex appeal of Tony's smoldering gaze. And a typical woman's reaction on the other side..

They severed the Queen Zombie at the neck. EVERY Zombie Movie shows severed Heads that are still alive. Shooting the brain kills it. not severing at the neck.
There is nothing like music to take u back to a specific time and place.. if I hear a song that I haven’t heard in a long time but I used to love, man that song will take me right back to the last time I heard it or the point in my life when I used to play it all the time it’s so crazy how music can do that

The name of the show with the games you would Velcro on you was video power. I liked Nick Arcade too because they had that little interactive game they would put you in at the end.
So I do understand your points on this movie and how it is. However I disagree with one point you made about Zeus and how he was able to get on his horse and beat them to Olympus. The Helicopter was heading the wrong way cause the pilot was leaving the city, till Batistas character said he had to get his daughter then they had to change direction and go toward Olympus. In that time he could have ran down and gotten on the horse since it established they are faster. Just thought that may explain that part of that movie and why it seems like he is that fast and beating them to the hotel.
If Newt would just stop telling stories that have nothing to do with the movie, Crystal can talk more about the movie...

I wish the rest of the movie was as good as the opening credits.
- I was expecting a lot of zombie fighting action and only got a few scenes of combat. 🙁
- No zombie kills with the concrete saw!!! I was expecting a scene like the lawnmower scene from Dead Alive and they didn't use the saw as a weapon! 🙁
- 50 minutes of backstory and set-up before they even enter Las Vegas was way too much. 🙁
The first 10 minutes was amazing and then it got to the point where i and two other friends fell asleep watching this near the end during that needless 20 minute lull in the action.

Hack the Movies, guys, an excellent episode, I agree with your assessment. I really did not like the Army of the Dead. I am not a fan of the Zombie stories, but I prefer Snyder's Justice League.

Ik they did their best, but every single time she was talking all I could think about was how much better her lines would have sounded in Chris Delia's voice.

I thought it was ok. I mean for an Of the Dead movie anyway. They aren't exactly the most enthralling epics ever told. But the robbery idea, Vegas quarantined and nuked, super zombie society. Kind of cool. Better than your average zombie movie.

I actually really enjoyed this movie. It definitely had its stupid moments but I thought these zombies were pretty unique and terrifying with how they communicated with one another. And Crystal is awesome...that's all 😁😂

I enjoyed this movie, even though they made some good points about it. I think that they should cover The Hurricane Heist. I saw both Army of the Dead and The Hurricane Heist in theaters.
I loved how Tony tried to say "Ana de la Reguera", he did his best, to be honest, its a very difficult Spanish name to pronounce
