It’s a song by an Irish band about a Scottish football team

In this case Celtic is pronounced with a soft C, as it is with the Boston Celtics. There are references in the song that only those familiar with Celtic (Glasgow) are likely to get. Celtic's stadium Celtic Park is colloquially known to the faithful as "Paradise". The area of the ground once occupied by the hardest core fans was known as "The Jungle". The reference to lions relates to Celtic's great side of the 60s known as "The Lisbon Lions" which achieved the great honour of making Celtic the first ever British club to lift the European Cup (beating Inter Milan in the cup final in Lisbon, Portugal).

Just impressed the use of colloquially, not what you are used to see in a post. Hats of to you :)

7:15 its not a Scottish song, its an irish one. I never knew the wolfe tones were Scottish. The wolfe tones made it for the celebrations of celtics centenary.
Anyways do a reaction to "Óro sé do bheatha bhaile, its an old war song of irelands, and Pádraig pearse changes some words and to give homage to Gráinne O'Malley, otherwise known as Grace O'Malley. the Pirate Queen, or the "Great Sea Warrior".

Weird, not sure why I thought it was Scottish? Also, speaking of that song suggestion, just uploaded Sineads version today

The Wolf Tones version of this song is so much better with a good video to go along with the song. It is a song for the Celtic Football Team [Up the Hoops] and the Wolf Tones have a huge following from the Celtic FC supporters.

This is a great song but I think you have to hear it live and have some appreciation or understanding of Celtic FC. Without context it makes no sense.
