This may be silly but I actually teared up when watching this updated version for the first time. I guess I'm sentimental but it really is a perfect encapsulation of what makes college sports amazing.
Well considering student athletes are technically employees of the university they could have labour unions and i can see the former pac 12 members athletes going on strike about this
The original commercial is actually about 30 seconds as well, just with a freeze frame of 10 seconds at the end. They need it to be 30 seconds probably for the commercial slot on TV. That’s the reason it goes quicker, because they have a maximum time with 4 more schools to cover.
I wonder if it isn't the Farm Lane bridge. It's apparently right on campus and appears to be green in an on-line depiction of an old postcard. The original ad is about 10 years old, and the bridge is being replaced/upgraded beginning in 2023, so it no longer looks like that
The trail next to Autzen Stadium is Pre's Trail, designed by and dedicated to Steve Prefontaine, an Oregon alum and one of the greatest distance runners of all time. So glad they gave a nod to Eugene and OU's significance in distance running.
Bro you know so much about UO and you mistake us for Oklahoma? Jesus! 😂 Also to piggy back off of this one, the building (which has a buckeye tree in front of it thanks Ohio State and the MASSIVE Oregon O on it) is called the Lillis Business Complex, where our business school sits! And yeah I’m surprised myself that they used the Knight Science center over the Lillis Business Complex or the Knight Library myself
I agree have always loved this commercial showing snippets of each University and the communities they inhabit. Hopefully the make a 1 minute long version.
I think they will eventually. Like during top-tier match ups or commercials for the NFL during prime-time games. I think if the B1G should have a really successful season with the 4 new teams, then we will really see the commercial take-off, particularly with the 1 minute length.
3:11 hey huge UW fan and Seattle native here I’m pretty sure that’s a wa state ferry cause for locals it has a distinct look I can kinda make out great vid happy to be a part of B1G life
One thing I noticed that wasn't pointed out is that they included ski runs on Mount Hood, which notably has 4 ski areas on it; one of which, Timberline, is the only non-indoor year-round ski area in the country.
That's just insane that USC athletes will have to fly freaking across the whole damn country to play say Maryland or Penn State. This isn't just flying, but all the equipment put into a semi just to get THERE and back. I can't imagine the transportation costs for something like that. You better hope that the TV deals is enough to cover those long term expenses.
People forget it’s not just football. Unbelievable that sports like baseball and soccer who play games during the week sometimes and back to back and *usually* have more of Ana academic focus
Who cares about long term, make money now and worry about it in the future. I kid cause this is awful way to spend money and I can assume the sport will crash itself soon
My daughter and I love, love, love this commercial and the silver linings song. It is fire. We were really worried it was going away with the new west coast school additions.😅🎉 Relieved & happy it is updated and Back! I just wish all the schools got equal pieces and their stadiums- why are a few schools stadiums left out and yet all the new schools get their stadiums added? Every single one! Kinnick has the iconic wave tradition and that would have been awesome to include. It would also be cool to have a whale breach in the water in the Pacific Northwest section. Following..
It's a Washington State Ferry. They're iconic to the Puget Sound and have a very distinctive look. Washington also boasts the largest ferry fleet in the nation.
I'm surprised the Mackinac Bridge isn't shown to link the two parts of Michigan together. No wonder the UP gets ignored again. (I was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and the UP is the only part of the state I have ever visited)
I thought it started in Canada as you can make out the thin blue line as the U.S. border and the island pointing towards Washington as Vancouver Island.
But they show the river going to up Lake MI. That should be the Grand. It's there a bridge like that over the Grand? You could be right, though, as the Red Cedar is more iconic and is a tributary to the Grand. Could be artistic license.
I was a bit surprised that they should have started with the Rose Bowl, then head north to Seattle. But the more I looked into the ad, it made more sense. Still, it is perfect.
I don’t know why the cut river bridge would be there for MSU, just because it has nothing to do with MSU. But maybe it could be. I just was Up North crossing the cut river bridge like a week or two ago and I live by MSU and it is like prob 4 hours or so from MSU. So I was very confused when you said that but I mean maybe it could be? If I can find anything new I’ll edit the comment.
This was a great move for the former pac12 members. It wasn’t about money it was about a step up in competition. You got teams like Indiana Illinois Rutgers purdue 😂

By far the best commercial of all of the conferences!!
How about the sound effects? Some are obvious (UW jumping around), but some aren’t. For example, there’s a crowd scream or something as the Oregon O appears - what is that?
Autzen is one of the loudest stadiums in the country. We do our best to ensure the opposing offense can’t hear themselves, much less anything else. It is believed that some of the acoustics of the stadium are helped by being set in a hollowed out (and potentially volcanic) butte, though the stadium expansion on the south side removed most of the earth there.
Naw, don't get mad at them. Get mad at the PAC12 for dropping the ball with that ridiculous PAC12 network trash. That shyt had people believing money would be made hand over fist, and it might have happened, but incompetence screwed it up, making it hard to keep up with the B1G and sec.
The fact that it does go South as it goes down the West Coast is an Easter Egg in itself because the West Coast has been going south and the Big Ten will be dragged down along with it.
As a longtime PAC 10 fan, seeing USC, UCLA, Oregon and UW in the Big Ten conference makes me wanna throw up. Nothing was more satisfying as a kid on New Year’s Day than sending the Big Ten champs crying back to the Midwest after beating them in the Rose Bowl. Such a shame.
As a Big 10 fan, I don't like this either. College football was better when we had conferences with common geography, history, and rivalries. Having USC go to Maryland, or UCLA go to Penn State, etc. for a conference game makes absolutely no sense. Also, the Pac 12 was fun to watch last year, with a lot of high flying offenses and parity, but, alas it is no more. RIP PAC 12.
That's how I feel about Cal and Stanford going to the ACC. Also, as a philly native(with Penn State three hours drive away from Philadelphia) I thought this commercial was done now that the new Big Ten is official now.

6:20 There’s a bridge like that in Okemos, MI about 2-3 miles from campus
My initial thought was the lansing river trail, but that one is probably more likely.
That's definitely it
found it: 42°42'46.7"N 84°25'52.7"W

It’s just pure Americana which makes it the best
So much better than any promotional campaigns the SEC has rolled out. They need to retire that pretentious "It just means more" tagline.
Sec shorts is cool

It’s nostalgia! On a newer level!
Watching the new one gave me chills the first time.

They should have put the exploding whale next to Oregon.
I thought it started in Canada as you can make out the thin blue line as the U.S. border and the island pointing towards Washington as Vancouver Island.
The big 14 just became the big 18 thanks to this.
As Jake butte from the big ten network said, it like a warm hug. I think I've watched this commercial 100 times already.
I think the bridge is how they symbolized the red cedar river on msu campus
But they show the river going to up Lake MI. That should be the Grand. It's there a bridge like that over the Grand? You could be right, though, as the Red Cedar is more iconic and is a tributary to the Grand. Could be artistic license.
5:40 completely unrelated but the LA Memorial is the birthplace of Supercross racing!
lmaoooo mackinaw bridge is 5 miles long and likes hundreds of miles north of EL, but I love the guess
The mountain at the beginning is Whistler since it's north of Seattle and outside of the blue line that outlines the north border of Washington state
Yankee Stadium in the closing seconds of the commercial ✔
I wonder why they added that
@@Beast-yp2ei Prolly because of the conference tie-in with the Pinstripe bowl which takes place there.
The king has returned
was waiting for this 🔥
1:13 The reason why the old one is 10 seconds longer is because the old video shows the last frame for 10 seconds
4:08 The Goonies, brilliant
The commercial is great but it should not be missing the Iowa wave.
What a beautiful commercial! Hits the right emotions
There was a massive encampment on, lets just call it the Gameday lawn at Oregon this spring. Hopefully the grass is ready for Week 7 when OSU flies up
Don’t forget that fort oregon they tell “shout” in the video to showcase the tradition at autzen
I was a bit surprised that they should have started with the Rose Bowl, then head north to Seattle. But the more I looked into the ad, it made more sense. Still, it is perfect.

By far the best commercial of all of the conferences!!
With all of the teams now in the Big '10', I'd like to see only Big 10 teams play Big 10 teams for the entire season.

Oh found it. This commercial is lit.

You also forgot in the first video there’s a Times Square billboard in front of tankee stadium
People aren't realizing that washington/Oregon to LA isn't a short flight. Its still pretty far and was a longer flight for the pac 12.
Is that a Joe Bruin UCLA shirt I see being rocked?
Just to say they are both 30 seconds just the older one has 10 seconds of silence
What's the name of this song 🙂?
I hope the new teams succeed! Go green!
The only conference that spans coast to coast. Might as well name it the United States conference
Not the only conference. The ACC also spans coast to coast and might as well stand for All Coast Conference.
was waiting for this vid 🙏 (im lying but still fire)
Very sad to see this happen as a UW student. Thanks a lot USC and UCLA!
Naw, don't get mad at them. Get mad at the PAC12 for dropping the ball with that ridiculous PAC12 network trash. That shyt had people believing money would be made hand over fist, and it might have happened, but incompetence screwed it up, making it hard to keep up with the B1G and sec.
You say people never loved commercials…. You know about Doritos tho?
Repent and trust me you will be saved
