- @LASanitation at work! Gallons of what amounts to raw sewage poured out the side of this truck about 5pm yesterday (5/8).
Called @lacitysan around 5:30pm and was assured that a crew would respond within 1 to 2 hours.
Called @LASanitation again this morning (5/9), agent couldn't understand why this hadn't been cleaned up.
Called again at 1:30, now @lacitysan apparently has three service requests floating around on this.
5/9 update: still no callback or action, called for the fourth time at 8pm (27 hours since the dump) and the rep confirmed that both a yard supervisor and hazmat had been notified. This rep said positively that the very first rep should not have stated an ETA. If I try to wash this foul smelling mess away, I'm probably polluting a storm drain... illegal, I'd assume.
5/10 update: This morning, an unknown city worker drove up, looked at the mess and drove away. Called in at 10am for status and enjoyed the worst interaction so far with comments like "what do you want them to do?" and "I just work in a call center and forward information". I was challenged to explain how a photograph was added to their service request (ummm, I emailed it?) and told it looked to be resolved since it was dry. I was also taught new vocabulary... I'm to use the term "trash juice" which is not to be confused with sewage.
5/10 update #2: An "Environmental Officer" appeared to see the mess. Apparently he's the "watershed" guy that one of the reps swore shouldn't have been the destination for this service request. Spoke with him and he requested this video. He even called back later to confirm that action would be taken!
5/11 update: The Trash Juice Task Force arrives! Two workers, a truck and trailer. 32 minutes from arrival to departure. They did a fine job and even made a reasonable effort to vacuum up the runoff. It did, however, take quite a bit of the asphalt too. Well, I'm sure the Bureau of Street Services will be on it right away!

It’s trash water from the clean out area of the truck, it’s normal for that to happen. I’ve never seen that much though, and it rushing out like that, lol.
I was abouta say that too
"It's coming out of me like lava!"
As other people have said this is water that has come from the rubbish inside your bin ( and many many others) that has seeped to the bottom of the truck into a tank. The lid to that tank is usually only opened when your at the dump but unfortunately for you it was open. I hope that LA sanitation with its decent reputation (from what I know as an Australian garbologist) has given you some help or compensation for this unlikely event. Great video anyway have a good day.
Those people are very unlucky because it spilled in front of their house
It’s not sewage. It’s the truck’s liquid.
Some of the neighbors up the street drink a lot booze. In the morning they get the diarrhea attacks. What you see coming out the truck is known as "BEER CRAP FLOAT".
Its garbage juice or leachate but yeah that's way too much.
POV you need to go
well someone had to much water in their can and yea
It probobly just rain
0:04 trash juice leaked from the truck
Fr truck you peed
Needed to dump the truck
Just garbage juice. My truck sprayed a car with its top down. lol
Thats fucked up, hope you got fired
@@KillEmAllAndKeepMovingWhy would he get fired if it was something the truck did? The older ones malfunction like this quite frequently. It’s not his fault, it’s the trucks. Never know when a trash tsunami is coming your way haha.
