Togashi almost completely ruined his health from doing Yu Yu Hakusho alone, so the writing and art for HxH on top of it most definitely caused his burnout, as well as severe back problems. I think people don't realise how much of this story there actually is already, and considering where the anime leaves off it's not at all abrupt or on a cliffhanger which I'm hugely thankful for alone, because that would definitely drive fans insane. I'd honestly be fine if he never got to finishing it even though it's my favourite series of all time, but I can't say the same for certain other ungrateful fans. The story for what it is right now will always be more than enough for me, no matter if it ever gets finished or not. I'm just thankful he created it
@@dimasbram7176 people like you are the problem I have with consumers, ungrateful and ignorant to how humans work. go write three different series, two of which containing 100+ episodes and let me know how that goes for you, if you're even still alive
He has a terrible condition if you look at it plainly, he can't achieve sexual gratification without fighting and killing strong opponents, it's much deeper than just wanting to have fun.
The anime actually has an ending. The only problem is that it leaves a couple storylines incomplete. But seeing as Gon is more or less the main character and his goal was to become a hunter and find his dad which he’s already done.
Alluka is the one who calls killua "brother". She always looks normal. Something is the one who calls killua "killua" and she can look normal when making request. When making request, she and alluka seem to both be awake, but something is in control. When something sees a person she wants a request from, she takes over to make the request. However, the rest of the time (like when tsubone ran away before hearing all the requests) alluka is in control. I'm not positive about this part, but it is what makes sense in my mind
@Shock2k5 how is any of this a spoiler? Killua explained the "brother/ killua" difference when we first met alluka. My guess that something and alluka sharing conscience after a request is paused is based off of tsubone, which has already happened. This comment was a reminder and a summary from my point of view.
They hinted that alukas condition came from the Dark Continent which is where the series is heading... its mention that a lot of mysterious and powerful beings came from that place...
The end point of the anime is actually the point that Togashi has said that he wishes he'd ended the manga, and it would've been a sensible place for it to have ended, but he decided to just keep going into another arc after he introduced what he did at the end of this arc. It would've been a fine ending and kept everything open for others to create things in the space of the HxH world, but Togashi instead decided that he wanted to keep going and get even crazier with the already-expansive world he'd created, and apparently regrets having done so considering his poor health causing the infinite hiatus.
I want to throw out the consideration that the "frustration" from hiatuses often comes from some form of incomplete perspective. Hear me out! For example, Creative Writing courses will typically teach the spectrum of creativity--the difference between writers who are "architects" or "explorers." Basically, people who write slow or write quickly. An example is Stephen King vs. George RR Martin. The former pumps out tons of writing, but often includes misses. The latter slowly creeps out writing, but is very methodical and often includes a consistent depth of quality. Similarly, Miura and Togashi are just perfectionists, it seems. They don't "just write," but instead they outline all possible routes of creativity and don't publish chapters until they're optimal. This takes a lot of brainstorming (and any other writers will acknowledge this distinction). That said, Togashi does suffer from some back issues, which surely impacts his writing--perhaps even today, despite his treatments. But even still, I don't think that should be the only excuse for his hiatuses. In my mind, Togashi works on HxH full time, he just has tons of different storyboards that he comes up with and tries to compare with each other. This would obviously take most of his time if he's structuring the story behind the scenes so methodically. I joke that Togashi's wife is often like, "Hey, honey--why are there pictures all over our walls with strings of different colored yarn connecting them? Some of the yarn is even going out to our backyard on the board you built back there. This is getting out of hand..." And he's just like, "It's cool, don't worry--I've explored hundreds of ways the story can go, and I only have a few hundred more variables to determine! Then I can compare them all with each other! The next chapter has to be perfect!" And that itself basically explains the hiatuses for me. After all, Togashi has said in interviews that he loves writing HxH and intends to finish it when he's done coming up with good ideas that he approves of. So despite the hiatuses, IMO this story is only so good because he takes his time to write it at his own pace. The same goes for authors like Miura with "Berserk." I personally think that these stories would suffer from a nosedive in quality if the authors wrote them any quicker than the pace they've found to be comfortable. Many artists just simply take a long time to come up with ideas, or need a long time to ensure that their ideas are at the quality that they deem acceptable. And in the case of HxH and Berserk, that's some god-tier quality we're talking about. So despite popular fan opinion, I'm actually grateful for the hiatuses. Not because I'm willing to accept anything, but because I understand that writing good stories is difficult, and many artists need to take time to figure out the best ways to progress their stories and keep them optimal. Some people can pump out quality on demand--many others, though, just need time. Even if it's decades of time. In Japan, Mangaka often are worked hard to finishing quick deadlines. Miura and Togashi, however, have proved themselves to have enough renown in order to achieve their own schedules. If most other Mangaka had their way, they'd probably write slower as well. Miura and Togashi have the privilege, though, of writing at their own pace. So they simply take advantage of it for the benefit of the writing. I just wanted to share that perspective and hope it's understandable. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series reactions! Thanks y'all!

I’m honestly really scared for Togashi health-wise. I don’t want him to end up like Toriyama in a situation where he’s just consistently burnt out and can’t put out the same work that he used to.
You will be starting at the end of Volume 32. Literally the last chapter starts the new arc. Afterwards you'll have 4 volumes until you catchup (minus the 10 chapters that wasnt published yet). Promise you it'll be 1 hell of a ride
I don't really see the point in them doing that. They're not cannon nor are they anywhere near as good as the series, both animation and plot-wise. only mildly important part is Kurapika's backstory even though we already know the jist of it
Pariston's voice actor was Hisoka in Hunter×Hunter 1999
Makes sense, they both derive pleasure from others pain

It's sad, but his heath is more important. If he doesn't finish it I'd like to at least hear what some of his plans were for the future arcs.

Ah yes my favorite Hisoka moment, where you can see that all that matters for him is to have his fun

About the authors health thats something I fear about Oda, that either he or I will die before One Piece is finished.
Oda will be fine, he's still pretty young and healthy, and I don't see One Piece going for more than two arcs after Wano, it's almost over
Oda is a god for giving us OP content for so long, and consistently too. I have faith that he'll be able to finish the series.
