    I have a custum 1125 cr. I thought it was the worst piece of shit i ever owned. Its modified with an xb 12s tail piece and the beautiful full fairing. I hated it because of the charging problems. I've fixed all those problems with a few mods. Now it's one of those bikes that i will never sell. Handling is amazing looks stunning and can keep uo to much more powerful bikes because of its speed through corners. Thanks Eric . It wasn't perfect leaving your factory. You didn't have enough time with it. Mine is now a keeper. :)

      Love that this comment turned around in the end. Started out like a buell hater lol. They are more like a mule until you get them figured out.

    Glad you tried it! Honestly i never got the thought of being afraid of riding a stronger bike. You have the throttle, you decide how fast it's going. Altough i love my Buell XB12, i love trying out new bikes, the most extreme ones i tried were an old R1 with 200whp and a KTM 1290 Superduke R.
    Altough they have more than double the power, the delivery is so different and the handling as well. Try every bike you can, maybe you fall in live with one.

    Rotax Helicon is a beast. I have the 1125R with Buell Race ECU and Barker muffler…..FEROCIOUS!
    Just found your channel…..love the white CR……Joy you rock!
    I find my 1125 very well balanced and easy to control at slow speeds…..hope you do as well!

    The sound of the motor on the 1125cr reminds me of my old Aprilia RSVR. I think they are both Rotax motors. Great work having a go on it.

      Yup the 1125r and cr are powered by a 72° rotax helicon. I put a jardine on mine and it sounds ferocious. I have jardines on both my buells.

    The M2 Cyclone was my first bike. I bought it brand new in 2001. I would love to try an 1125CR.

    This was scary at first. I thought you might drop it. You are 5'9"ish? I have an 08' 1125r and an 07' firebolt xb9r that I put the scg forks, tripple tree, and monoshock on. The difference in height makes the firebolt much more comfortable to ride. Glad I saw this video today it made me smile to see fellow buellers.

    First and foremost much credit for getting on those bikes and having really good clutch control it seems.
    However you really need to practice turning. You need to lean a lot more. Shouldn't be hard for you considering your good clutch control.
    Keep riding. And keep pushing those comfort zones.

    • @JoyonaBike
      @JoyonaBike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll agree that I could have done better turning. Thanks for your thoughtful comment and for watching.

    My first bike was a bandit 400 that probably weighed about 350 pounds.
    My second bike was 145 hp modified Ninja ZX9. It was much easier to ride.
    And a big heavy Harley with a low seat height was the easiest to ride.

    I remember, years ago, stepping off a worn out 250 with a soggy clutch onto a 600 sports bike and then accidentally finding the balance point on a near vertical wheelie after dumping the clutch as I’d been used to on the old bike, how I didn’t crash I don’t know 😂 Experience teaches you to take the time to learn but, once you get that confidence it becomes easier, (and then you start wondering what all the fuss was about in the first place!)

      I remember laying on my 1125r on a straight long road known for drag racing. I was chillin' doing a slow strong torque pull gaining speed and my front wheel hit a dip in the road. The bike slowly raised up on the back wheel to the balance point before I let it down. It was totally accidental and was my first wheelie on it. Caught me completley by surprise. These bikes dont like low rpms they are chuggy. But in the high revs feels like a formula 1 engine. It wants to go fast.

      @@JoyonaBike I learned many years ago that the scariest thing to do on a motorcycle was to be the passenger. Watching someone in your situation is a close second.
      My guess is that the 1125 has both a lower centre of gravity and wet weight than the Lightning. Add in the reasonably low seat height and you have a good motorcycle for a smaller person (or a fat old guy like me with short legs).
      At one time I had a 2007 Yamaha r1 and a 2008 1125r. I kept the Buell.

    The 1125cr is actually quite light. 375 lbs dry weight.

    • @JoyonaBike
      @JoyonaBike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think for me it has more to do with how the weight sits on the bike vs the Lightning which is more bottom heavy.

    • @mtaylor935mt
      @mtaylor935mt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoyonaBike That is understandable. However, I went from a 2004 Honda RC51 to a 2009 1125cr. If you want to experience a heavy bike then try riding that RC51, that thing was around 500 lbs wet. It was a monster and the 1125cr felt like a piece of plastic compared to it. So I’m pretty biased 😁

    How did your husband do the rotor mod? Did he do it himself at a machine shop or did he mail it in to ebr? I've been trying to mail it in but I think they are still changing everything over to the new buell website

    • @JoyonaBike
      @JoyonaBike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My husband did the rotor mod at home. He didn't send it in to get reworked, he bought a new rotor from EBR. Looks like the link isn't there anymore. I'd try contacting Buell Motorcycles to see if they can help or send you one?

  • @archard71
    @archard71 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can't imagine it being that much difference if you know how to ride a bike... It'll handle the corners differently and have more power / heaver so need to account for that when stopping but it would be easier on the road at speed then in a parking lot.

    • @JoyonaBike
      @JoyonaBike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reasons you just mentioned is why it’s different. You’re right it’s easier on the road riding, but that’s not the reason I hesitated getting on the bike. It’s the other reasons, plus having the mindset that I wouldn’t be able to manage it. Because yes, I “know how to ride,” but that doesn’t mean I don’t have plenty of room to improve my riding skills.

    • @EmporerNapoleon
      @EmporerNapoleon 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It weighs only 400-415lb wet. It is not a heavy bike. I am not sure why everyone keeps saying it is.

    Actually it's just another sitting/steering.position ... torque is almost the same ;) ........ I'm riding a xb9sx beside a 1125cr with the same steer.position - that's a DIFFERENCE ;)

    • @JoyonaBike
      @JoyonaBike  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being a shortish female rider, even the 2 inch difference in seat height plays a role. And there’s really no getting around the fact that the XB12SCG is smaller and less powerful than the CR, even if the torque is almost the same. Doesn’t handle the same, either. For me, it’s a difference.
