    Thank you! I didn't know how to get the hardness in our house and with your video was pretty easy to calculate.

      @@therecipestation1026 Modesty is a virtue 👍🏼. I got it done this past weekend. Had to move the water heater to create space ( thankfully had a good friend help out with hooking it up again ) end result : excellent soft water and our RO system is back and running again

    Is the water out from the wall pipeline connected to the inlet valve on the water softener? Please explain to me.
    My plumber connected the water out pipeline to the outline valve on A.O. Smith Water Softener. Is it right?

    When you had to tighten the adapters after turning the water on and seeing that it was leaking, did you have to take the clips off to tighten or just shut off water? I have same problem with a very slow drip and don't want to ruin the whole install. Thanks.

    My PPM came back at 427PPM. How do I calculate where to set the Hardness value. Any help would be appreciated. Where did you come up with dividing by 17.1? I have a Well If I do the calculation you used I divided 427PPM by 17.1 and came up with a setting number of 24.970 or I would say its 25. Is that the number I program into the unit? Thank you!

    Bart - helpful thanks... FYI - you shouldnt sand the copper pipe when using a shark-bite fitting... the o-ring seals on the smooth surface of the pipe, you may have been lucky here, but its not a recommended practice.

    Your overflow should not go to a drain point above the outlet, as it raises the overflow level to the apex of the tubing. Given the low likelihood of an overflow, you would probably be ok, but I drain mine into the water heater pan, well below the outlet.

    Does your water "feel" soft like that slick feeling when showering? I recently replaced my old softener with the same one as you and it doesn't have that slick feeling anymore. I'm not sure if my softener is working. I might buy a hardness test kit

    • @therecipestation1026

      Yes it does... but it depends on how much water we use.. first thing in the morning yes, but after using water all day, it seems to dissipate.. maybe we’re using too much water

      @@therecipestation1026 Found out the lower drain is operated by gravity, which means water must flow down hill. It is only used in case tank overflows.

    • @ronniejonsson
      @ronniejonsson 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hose from the tank is in case of overflow and should be above the drain pipe, not as this one is installed. Also, both the tank overflow hose and the brine hose ( hose from top of unit) are to be installed with an " air gap". The ends of the hoses should be a minimum of 1 1/2 " above the open end of the drain pipe. This is to prevent sewage/waste water from entering the system should the drain side of the home's plumbing back-up.

    • @iogpurge
      @iogpurge 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can have someone turn on the water shutoff valve and feel where it comes from. But cold water comes from the city and goes to the water heater so cold = intake and hot = out (to home). Then you have a waste line.

      Not the same. I love my 10 year old Rheem A/C but worried about some water softner Rheem reviews so likely will get another GE like in video, my GE lasted 10 years but starting year 6 can't change the settings but can still recharge so it works.
