The Biber is a German-made armored rapid bridge. It belongs to the group of combat support vehicles. Its predecessor was the M48 armored bridge-laying vehicle and its successor is the Leguan. The overall Biber armored rapid bridge system consists of the actual armored bridge-laying vehicle and the two-part armored bridge on top. In combat, the Biber can use its two-part bridge element to bridge terrain cuts such as bodies of water and ravines up to 20 meters wide. Larger cuts can be bridged by laying several bridge elements overlapping each other. The assembled bridge element is 22 meters long, 4 meters wide and can be laid out under armor protection within 2 to 3 minutes.[2] It weighs around 9.94 tons and is approved for the Military Load Class (MLC) 60 or up to around 55 tons. The crew consists of the commander and the driver. The bridge layer is unarmed and equipped with a smoke grenade system.

The Leopard 2's MTU engine produces 1,500 hp, but as far as I know, the engine can be pushed up to 2,000 hp in an emergency. So it is currently being driven to the minimum power that the Leo needs. The picture at the beginning was a beaver. This is the high-speed tank bridge used in Germany. The beaver is able to lay the bridge within a few minutes by moving the two bridge parts horizontally. This makes it difficult to recognize and the crew does the whole thing under armor protection. The successor, The Leguan, is now available, but this bridge layer is based on the Leopard 2 chassis and the bridge is in three parts.
There is a really good article directly from Rheinmetall comparing the old Mader infantry fighting vehicle with its successor, the Puma. The really interesting thing is that it shows how both systems, old and new, are used and I have to admit that I am pretty impressed with what will happen on the battlefield in the future. These new digitally networked weapon systems will be used in conjunction with the latest Leopard or Panther and neither China, Russia nor North Korea can keep up. When it comes to tanks, Germany is already in a different league. The thing you meant what doesnt really count as a tank is the Puma. Its more a APC (Armoured Personell Carrier) or IFV (Infantry Figfhting Vehicle) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puma_(German_infantry_fighting_vehicle)
They tested the KF51 in an simulation against an Abrahams A1 and the Abrahams had some serious problems. At the end i think it was a draw in the simulation.
I find it difficult to explain to someone who does not recognize a bridge-laying tank that even the best German tank, in itself the most impressive piece of equipment, will be shot down on the battlefield if it is not accompanied by Panzergrenadiers, etc. A MBT, no matter how wonderful it is, alone is a target for EVERYONE and the occupants die very quickly.Without infantry the MBT is nothing. Without MBT the infantry is nothing. You probably never did military service!?
