Synth samurai is fast becoming the number one go to synth channel on TH-cam….. 0 to 60 in .25 seconds… you’ll have the best equipped synth studio in one year…… the rate you’re going!!
Cheers my brother. Hopefully im not gone in 60sec like Nickolas Cage. 😂 🏎️ 💨 i appreciate all the love and support for the channel. We just trying to have some fun.
good common sens points and good vibes... i love all my synths , but if I had to keep one, it would be the Dm12 because of it's vast synthesizer capabilities
I think of it this way. No one at work thinks I'm cool because I have synths. No one at concerts cares much about the synth nerds in the back of the band. I don't care if someone sees me with a Behringer, but I guess I didn't know what a Moog was a year ago. lol I just like bringing back the 80's jamming in my garage. Behringer made it happen for cheap and it is a lot of fun. I was going to go the lookmumnosynth route and solder my own VCOs and filter ladder, but Behringer is cheaper than the base DIY parts unsoldered. Now that I know what sounds I want I feel ready to buy components, but Behringer gear taught me a lot about the type of sound I would want to invest in. I dunno, all our journeys are different. With war possibly looming in the Pacific, we'll have to see how long this lasts. Might as well enjoy the moment. Love the show dude.
Another great show by Sensei Samurai. Even though he is much, much younger than myself, I can only hope that someday I can too be as wise as the Samurai. I've just watched this epic episode whilst jamming on my dual Uli Pro-800 setup ran through a Strymon Big Sky MX (sounds like pure heaven, in case any of you were wondering...) while anxiously anticipating the arrival of the Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave that I just bought this evening. What's my point, some of you may ask? Well, it's like the Samurai has stated many times - why all the synth hate? There is room for all, both big (expensive) and small (not so expensive). All the hate is just drama and IMHO, ridiculous as hell. It gets very tiresome.
I own synths from Roland, Korg, Waldorf, Hydrasynth and Behringer. I mainly use the Hydrasynth, Korg and Waldorf but boy do I have a lot of fun with my Behringer kit. I don't don't make any money from this synthesis hobby of mine, if I did then maybe I could afford to be a synth snob. As it happens Behringer kit is affordable so it's worth taking a chance with. If I don't like it then so what, it hasn't cost me an arm and a leg. I find many people who spend big money on anything are rarely going to say anything negative about it because they feel they need to justify that big price. Behringer on the other hand comes at a smaller price so it's easier to be negative about them due to the, you get what you pay for mentality. Keep doing what you are doing and by the way, not everyone in Europe is part of the Synth Mafia, I bet there's as many Behringer Bro's as they're Synth Mafia over here.
You need to look closer at the Cork Sniffer debacle, if you want to understand why it was such a furore (my shadow was tempted to make a führer joke, there … but luckily, I didn’t … … …).

You are 100% correct, people need to live and let live, lighten up. Life is serious enough without freaking out over musical instruments. As far as Beringer goes, If I was into those types of instruments, I would buy the cheapest possible version because it's not how much money you spend on gear. It's what you can do with that gear. The Beatles and many other groups made some of the best music with only four tracks or eight tracks and now some people have hundreds of tracks and some of that music sounds like crap.. The bottom line is you can make excellent music on inexpensive gear and you can make crappy music on very expensive gear. It's not the gear. It's the person using it.
I dig Jorb, and that is an old video, but the "Clone" argument is such a BS argument. Everyone is business has been cloning products since the beginning of time. Chevy is a "Clone" of Ford, PCs are a "clone" of Macs, Every guitar company "Clones" Fenders and Gibsons. Fender and Gibson also have second teir companies Squire and Epiphone that are clones of clones. It's never ending. This practice is so prevalent in the music instrument industry, It's been happening from the begin. A caveman saw another caveman banging on a wood block thought it sounded cool and "cloned" his wood block. I think it's such a dumb low T argument, If you hate Behringer just say that. I will respect that more then "B-b-but muh CoLoNe!" And the "Behringer is wasting their talent" No, they are not, they're doing exactly what they're good at, and more. Who creates more gear? It's preposterous. And the third argument, just man up. "They're big meanies" That's so low T it's high E.
Yup.... people that whine about copying obviously don't know jack about music business so we probably should not even pay any attention to their childish rants.
There is something for all at all prices but there is a bigger issue here and that is supporting the original manufacturers. I personally don't mind saving the money to buy say something like a Prophet 5 REV4.... sure it is painful but that feeling of owning a genuine legit Prophet and supporting the originators is worth the outlay. Sure Behringer for getting in the game is nice and they do make some nice gear... I even own a VC340 so not against Behringer at all but this rush to call everything expensive just because it's not Behringer prices gets old. If Roland had remade the VP330 I probably would have gotten that instead of the VC340 though... just my personal choice.
What happens is when you’re at the top you get the hate . Just look at all the companies getting bought out from bad business decisions like selling $5000 dollar synths in 2020’s
There selling at that price because they are so small and need to pay employees. They are also selling in small numbers. Also you are paying in some cases for innovation.
Well said. I just don’t get all the hatred for Behringer these days. I think a lot of it is residual from the 90’s/early 2000’s when they did kind of have a reputation for being “cheap knockoffs”, or it’s from jealous collector snobs who shelled out $1000’s of dollars for vintage synths that Behringer is now cloning and making available to people for a fraction of that cost. In any case, the arguments are always pretty weak.
It’s a free world… do whatever you want. If you dont like behringer dont buy it, if you do, go for your life. Im sure if behringer broke any laws they would get challenged in court. Ive got some behringer gear, it’s pretty decent. Infact i have had more Roland gear break down on me. Never trust a dude with a man bun….
