Floor as a hot bar singer. Great! I like this happy and uplifting "pop" song a lot. In this orginal music video there are some famous Finnish movie and stage actors/actresses involved. In order of appearance: Pekka Huotari, Antti Litja, Seela Sella, Eeva Litmanen, Ismo Kallio (RIP) and Vesa Vierikko. Thank you! ⛄👍

The Snowy Owl is named Urho and was loaned by his zoo to NW for this video. Honestly, who else gets rare animals loaned to them??? Owls were also depicted in the video from The Crow, The Owl and the Dove from the Anette era. (A Very beautiful video with huge tears to follow). Birds of all types play a large role in NW symbology. Much love.
@@timbroski4487 yes, exactly. Even though you know how things are going to end do them anyway so you can enjoy the time you have (especially in friendship and love).
Song released 2015 but I swear Floor gets better with age..Nightwish still holds the symphonic metal crown even today. Tuomas a modern day musical genius, can write many styles.....Good reaction guys, thx.
Floor looks absolutely stunning in that video, she's such a seriously good looking woman, coupled with her awe inspiring talent and magnetic stage presence, its hard to not fall slightly in love with her
Already left instructions for this to be played at *my* funeral. I want them to be crying happy tears at my departure. Wembley Arena is a great live version. "Here comes a shooting star!!!" 🌠
Technically a great video and performance. While I do like the more heavier songs of NW, I completely adore floor here in the song. Lets vote for that hairstyle on the upcoming concert 🤘🏻
This is a song full of life I would say. I like it. It's also nice to watch the video of making this song and the album - Nightwish - Making of 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' - Episode 11. It's also so fun to see those finnish actors there which I have seen all my life in movies and theatres. Great video.
I knew when you played this version you would love Floors look in this song G, Live in Buenos Aries is a good version of this one :D Also Troy is also singing backup in this one too by the sound if it
Meet me where the cliff meets the sea.......just let me know what cliff...I (and I think the complete Army) would be there. ......such a nice song ! Uplifting....the folk vibe from the flute is great.....Treat yourself now with the Live Version from Buenos Aires...worth watching !
Hello! The reason why Tuomas wrote this song: It is a love song for Floor and her husband. To honor their love. Exactly the line: "where the cliff meets the see". Also the aunt of Tuomas is a vary famous Finnish actress so he is honoring also her fellow actors.
Wembley and Buenos Aires versions are equally good. I refreshed my memory took a peek and I have to say I slightly prefer Wembley. Although the Argentinian crowd is a bit better than the Wembley one. I love Marko's backing vocals on Elan. Well known Finnish actors/actresses in this video. The woman gathering leaves, Seela Sella, is 80 something i believe and still going strong. The man with the yellow helmet feeding the owen, Vesa Vierikko, was a professor on acting for 10 years. I think it was the maximun time allowed. Tuomas' aunt Miitta Sorvali is an actress. Last year she was awarded the Jussi Statue for the best female supporting role, (a cheerful old woman with lewd language, they chose that scene for the trailer), in the film Aurora. It was shown on Finnish TV about a week ago. In an interview she told she and Tuomas' mother were concerned when young Tuomas did not know how to headbang, so they decided to teach him. I wish there was footage of that. I happened to see Miitta last autumn downtown Helsinki. I, stupid me, said "Hi Tuomas' aunt", and did not even remember to congratulate her for the "Oscar". She turned to me, gave me the suprised face, and said (chipper) "Hi!" Maybe a month earlier, in September, I saw Tuomas in Helsinki near the Stockmann's department store carrying bags in both hands. I, (and Finns in general), do not usually bother celebrities when I see them, but I had to thank Tuomas for his music. I told I've been binge watching Nightwish videos lately. "Glad you like it!", he said. I said I'm going to tell other fans I saw you. He said "OK". Afterwards I thought about a dozen questions I should have asked him. (Can't remember if you have reacted to "Weak Fantasy" Tampere 2015 already. If not, that is a good one.)
Mitta Sorvali was on a cover of a magazine not long ago with the quote: "Laughing at yourself cuts off the blade of shame." She likes to exaggerate the most embarrassing moments of her life in front of an audience. Not a bad attitude. But I do not think I'm able to follow her lead, not even in a smaller setting.
They (mainly Tuomas) wanted to highlight the old fashioned hard working and labor people and style in a nostalgia mood in this video and yes music is for positive up lifting feelings. In the beginning the dance floor is empty and they all are working but finally they all have a party and relax from work. The NW symbol white owl sees this all.
Ooooh good job. One of my top five NW faves. BTW every live version is superb...Wembley, the official Buenos Aires, Tampere, and Bloodstock is nice as well.
The video is great, no question about it and I would invite Floor to any 30s party in this outfit that she sings for me. But musically I prefer the live performance to the song. There's more bang there.
This is such a pretty song from the EFMB album. It does have more power when done live of course. I just saw something on the Nightwish FB page that they are cancelling the Meet and Greet tickets for the US tour. Someone else who did not have M&G tickets said they also received an email that their tickets were going to be refunded. I hope it's not true! I don't know what this means for the US leg of the tour. It is most likely related to issues with travel between the States and the rest of the world.
From the Nightwish FB page...The plan is still to play all these US shows if the Band gets Visas and the US covernment allows the indoor concerts. This far only all the US Meet & Greets are cancelled.
Are you two familiar with the English word Élan? "Once upon a time, English speakers did not have "élan" (the word, that is; that's not to say we haven't always had potential for vigorous spirit). We had, however, "elance," a verb meaning "to hurl" that was used specifically for throwing lances and darts. "Elance" derived down the line from Middle French ("to rush or dash"), itself from meaning "to hurl." With the decline of lance-throwing, we tossed out "elance" a century and half ago. Just about that time we found "élan," a noun that traces to "(s')eslancer." We copied "élan" in form from the French, but we dispensed with the French sense of a literal "rush" or "dash," retaining the sense of enthusiastic animation that we sometimes characterize as "dash." This is what this song did for all of those older worker doing their menial jobs. It reinvigorated them and brought them joy. These were all well known character actors from Finland in the video. It was the single from their 2015 record "Endless Forms Most Beautiful". Thus the more simplistic straight forward song structure. Great job again Ginger & Mike. Loved it. Check out the live version from Buenos Aires 2018. Cool to hear Mike was into Hockey. You must live or be from the northern US? I think I'll play it again. Peace.
I think I saw an interview with Tuomas where he said that he did not like the song, but the other band members did and urged him to record it, so it was recorded.
Ginger, you asked about the live version, and here it is! It's from their Buenos Aires concert. Oh, and Floor looks rather well here, too! ;-) I love this song. As you said, Mike, it's such a feel good song, with a deceptively catchy chorus. The harmonies are by Marko and Troy. Beautiful they are, too. th-cam.com/video/8KOPvuKYIZA/w-d-xo.html
*Another (far) more uplifting song is "Amaranth", but there you should take your time for a double reaction [for the Official Music Video with Anette and for the Official Live Video with Floor], because this is (still) an Anette song in the same way like "Nemo" is (still) a Tarja song...* 🎵🔥🔥🌟🔥🔥✨🔥🔥🎵💿🔊✅🤘😎👍
tbh this is one of the few songs of theirs i prefer the studio version by a longshot. i cant explain why because the live versions are good too, but this one in studio just does it for me. and yes, Ginger, floor's retro look is stunning in the video so that certainly helps. this song, for me, was a grower. i didnt really like it much at first, and i dont know what the turning point was, but i listen to it at least once a day now. not sure if you have already, but if you want a very different vocal style from floor, i recommend Sahara, live at tampa (not tampere). great song thats super overlooked and imo, one of floor's best vocal performances
BTW - The white mountain owl was not harmed - unless it was it felt too fat after flying all those mice that were offered to it for flying... I have a YT-friend who tattoed her 30's looking pic on her leg...
Floor has been selling a lot of her wardrobe over the past several months. She just sold that Élan dress a few weeks back. And she doesn't charge all that much really. I think she sold it for something like €350. It was gone almost immediately (like most things she puts up on her web store).

How bland was that song and singer? Let's try to dress up the video with wind machines and a dove or 2. Why does a guitarist doing the splits have to stand in an empty pool? This is up there with Total Eclipse of the Heart in BAD. Being polite I would say everything was horrid.

This song celebrates life with a vigorous spirit of enthusiasm.
The verse “ building a sandcastle close to the shore, a house of cards from a worn out deck “ is one of my favorite lines of all time.
It's like they are saying: "Do things even though you know they are probably going to be gone soon", really poetic

Goes along with the image of "taking a leap". Live life with Élan! Go for it! :D
