      Yeah, I never understood this when it happened and especially not now with 3 small girls. I always wondered why the parents (maybe it sounds too cruel) where never prosecuted. Because they are also responsible for that even though they already paid the price with the abduction/death of her.

    Sam I love how diplomatic you are and I myself am not a parent either but... who leaves their children in an apartment? Never mind abduction being possible, they could have stopped breathing, had a medical emergency, Madeleine could have got up and hurt herself on appliances in the apartment etc it was completely irresponsible and being from the UK I remember this happening and my mum saying that if anybody else had left their kids it would be neglect and their other children would have been removed by social services but because they were rich doctors it was all fine. They are to blame for whatever happened to that little girl and I’m sure that will haunt them forever, but it’s very hard to not judge in this scenario. A lot of common sense was lacking for sure.

    • @ibnmianal-buna3176
      @ibnmianal-buna3176 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ines1280 I found out from another youtuber who covered this case that they most likely did accidentally kill her and then tried to cover it up. They were both physicians who had access to drugs that cause drowsiness/sleepiness if you will. Their 2 youngest children were somehow totally asleep during the whole frantic investigation in the apartment after Madeleine “disappeared”. It’s very likely they drugged their kids to sleep to prevent them from waking up while they went out to party, and Madeleine accidentally overdosed and kicked the bucket. So, they then would have tried to cover it up considering their careers would be over and their children orphaned if they were to confess to it.

    The parents know where she went, they know exactly what happened to her, they were involved in some way, shape or form and nobody will ever tell me otherwise. When anyone tries to prove me otherwise I like to casually remind them that her parents have been questioned multiple times, and have been specifically asked "did you have something to do with her disappearance", "do you know where she is/was" and "did you kill her/arrange for her to be taken". they have never responded to these questions with anything other than "no comment" and that just screams guilty to me. There is a list of 48 questions that her mother was asked in a questioning by the police three months after she went missing; she refused to answer any of them. out of the 49 questions she was asked that night she refused to answer 48 of them.

    I remember when I was just a kid, and I saw the magazine cover on the the rack at Walmart, with the headline, "Kidnapped on vacation." I never really thought much about it for a number of years, though the concept of a child being kidnapped on vacation sounded horrifiying. I guess it stuck in my mind enough, because, years later (just about half a year ago, in fact), I decided to Google it because I wanted to see what exactly the story was. I knew no names, no information, nothing. Just the magazine cover. I expected I'd run into a dead end and not find the story, given how much luck I have with other Google searches for generic terms. First result was Madeleine McCann. And it shocked me to discover that she was never found. And any doubts I had that this was the same event I saw on the magazine cover were put to rest as soon as I Google Image searched "Madeleine McCann magazine cover," and found the exact cover I had seen years and years ago. Why this stuck in my mind for so long, I'll never know, but I'm glad I was eventually able to find this story.

    As a parent I would never leave my children unattended like that. I'm far from a perfect parent but that's ap firm no. Her parents are both doctors. My opinion is that she died of an accidental overdose of some sedation like an antihistamine. Not intentional but involved. So heartbreaking.

  • @sophiaingvalson3130
    @sophiaingvalson3130 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I think the parent's decision was quite irresponsible and very frustrating. Kids that young should not be left alone and asleep with or without the doors unlocked even in the safest place on earth. I know as a kid and an older sister I was left alone with my sister quite often but I was required to keep all the doors locked and the windows shut and stay up with my phone until my parents got home otherwise if it was super late there would be someone awake and in the house at all times. This is so sad and I feel like the parents should have been punished in some way because this could have very easily been avoided.

      @Chippiee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I live in the area where she disappeared, Praia da Luz and i used to pass by the hotel where they stayed and when i saw the documentary i got the chills because of how many times i passed by the hotel. even though they never found out who did it i am 100% sure it was the parents, but on accident. i think they gave her something to fall asleep (since they were gonna have dinner) but it was too much for her and she died and her parents panicked and hid her body. thats my opinion.

    in this case as well as the job benet ramsey case, something is very fishy going on with the parents. in this case, leaving them in the apartment alone, late at night, while they are sleeping, seems really irresponsible. you would have to know something could have happened just as it did.

There are a few books I’ve read of missing people that were missing for years and years then found ... never give up hope crazy they left the kids though and if they did indeed make it a habit someone could have watched their pattern . To me child endangerment ! Unlocked doors no supervision etc not cool

    i am so sorry but the parents are completely, absolutely at fault for this. you are genuinely too kind to really say/admit that, however, they left their 3 year old child alone unattended inside an unlocked hotel room to go drink alcohol. Listen, maybe the parents weren’t asking for any trouble nor expecting anything of it, however it is 100% downright irresponsible, reckless, thoughtless, and just plain stupid. it doesn’t matter what day in age this event ever occurred, that situation ANY time is unacceptable. SHE IS THREE YEARS OLD. What is the point of also checking back and fourth “every thirty minutes” on your child? There really couldn’t have been something arranged where the children were occupied with another adult while a few went out for a drink? Disgusting. I have no sympathy for these parents. i cannot imagine losing my child and not knowing what happened but i would never do something so incautious in the first place. The parents also did seem pretty guilty too. it seems a little strange to me how they couldn’t answer any of the questions by the police if they had anything to do with her disappearance. a simple “no comment” was said to defend themselves. Such a sad story. i just feel bad for the children.
