Volvo used to be a practical and utilitarian high end car. It seems like there’s now too much focus techno-gadgetry that unnecessarily elevates the price of the car. We just traded in our 2011 335xi M-Sport with BMW performance engine tune for a 2019 S60 R-Design with Polestar tune. The BMW was a very special car to us. There are things my wife and I both like better about each one, for sure. Power seems about equal between the two. The S60’s engine is no joke; especially with the Polestar tuning, but it definitely doesn’t have the growl of her BMW. The Volvo is more responsive off the start than our BMW was. It is a smoother car to drive, and definitely more comfortable. I think the BMW would have felt more at home driven at the ragged edge around a track; it had a lot of soul, but the Volvo seems to be equal or better for the other 85% of situations.
Dave, . How is the backup camera? Audi’s A6-7 are grainy and awful. Is there are 360 camera view angle? Heated seats? Ventilated seats? Powered seats in driver and passenger? Thanks!

The dealer said sometimes this happens when not driving the car and it raining because Volvo uses a special metal. So idk that true? Which car should I go for? The Audi was nice and it felt pretty good need your opinions.
I have a new XC60. The thing is once you are set. theres not much things to change in the touch screen, and it is so easy to use. You can do voice command as well. Coming from a BMW 3series F30 msport. I say this cars quality is way better.
It's worth adding the polestar add horsepower Tigthens s the suspension up. I can go from 50 to 100 in a snap! Well they are governing some of the speeds in the newer ones I think my 2019 was the last year before they started governing the speed. I just wish it was wider. My 2011 e 350 Benz is wider had to chip it because it was a dog
Which S60 sedan is my best option for the wife in the Northeast where I can switch out the tires in the winter for dedicated snow tires? I am thinking the R design wouldn't be so great as it appears lowered? Please dont mention the suv the wife hates them.
I recently got 2019 certified s60 t6 polestar with 25k miles and it shows around 17mpg. Driving in daily mode. 50/50 highway and city. Also I feel like the first second of acceleration has a delay or something. Acceleration doesn’t work right away. Is this normal thing for Volvo?
Never thought about a Volvo S60 until now. For me style and function are key. It has to be able to take curves as i live on a mountain. And this car in black is very masculine. Love it! Thinking of buying a used 2019 if i can find one.
Fake leather seats for that price. No thanks I will keep my S80 2010 Volvo with a T6 6 cylinder turbo engine. It runs like the day I bought it. It also has real leather. I will keep my S80 until it dies. To bad they don't make these Volvo cars like they used to. I just test drove the S60 yesterday and it felt totally cheap and light. My S80 is super heavy which I love and you feel totally safe in it. Too bad these cars are now made in China. Mine however, was made in Sweden. Also, my husband is also 5 feet 11 inches tall and he couldn't fit in the back seat without turning his feet to to side because obviously someone is in the drivers seat with the seat back which would be less room for anyone sitting in the back.
The S60 is made in Charleston, South Carolina, not in China. The biggest factory is still in Sweden where most models are made. They mainly make the S90 in China and the rest in Sweden and Belgium.
@@Smurkitz The funny thing is the Chinese-made Volvos may have the best quality of them all. People need to not be so hung up on "Made in China." It's not what it used to be.
...never mind that it is now made in South Carolina. Not bad for $55k (lots of options on this car). Also, the T6 R-Design is a FAR cry from the lowly T5 Momentum. Can you say the same things about the T5 as the top-shelf AWD R-Design. Another question, would you go Minimal option T5 FWD Momentum or Fully Loaded Accord Sport 2.0t since you just reviewed that one? I laughed when you said "not much to look at, simple engine bay". That Fusion Red is the ONLY interesting color on this car; every other color is dull. Strange, Sport Chassis* or Dynamic Chassis are still options on their "R-Design". Volvo's Red Key seems like an interesting option (think Valet or 16yo driver). Slide to the left...slide to the right...slide it up...slide it down...take it back now y'all....Cha Cha real smooth.... ** if anyone is interested, and not many were apparently, the dealer closest to me in SW OH still has a 2017 V60, T5 in Silver w/minimal options in their showroom in now in Dec 2018...guess it is no wonder why it is still on their showroom floor...They are ready to "deal" on it and help it find a new home...........
I don’t see many Volvo’s out here in Southern California these new Volvo’s looking very nice compared to the old ones I thought the older Volvo’s had boring cheap looking interiors all around.
I’d love to see a 2005 S60r barely modified whoop this thing on the track. Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice car, all them amenities. But it’s just not as hardcore.
I am confused by the Inscription, Momentum, and Premier. I want to lease one but I am unsure. Now you throw in the R-Line. I'm even more confused. I drove the momentum and it was heaven so I am not sure what is different from R-Line. They looked the same. What am I missing?
Would love to look at one of these in the flesh, and drive one too. ^_^ I'm poor, but I drive a 2006 Volvo s60, and i love it. haha Certainly it isn't perfect, but the combination of safety, comfort, performance, and looks are hard to beat. I'm guessing the newer gen s60s are similar.
I like this car but its too expensive. I have not seen any for 35k most are in the 50K to 60k range. I wish Volvo made a retro designed 240DL for under 30K. I always liked the 240s and I could afford to buy one at that price!
B B gonna have to wait for it to make it to the CPO market, which might take a while for this new model. I’m currently considering a CPO 2016-17 S60 T5 AWD - the pricing on them is hard to pass up.

What about its maintenance fees and durability?
Which S60 sedan is my best option for the wife in the Northeast where I can switch out the tires in the winter for dedicated snow tires? I am thinking the R design wouldn't be so great as it appears lowered? Please dont mention the suv the wife hates them.
Yeehaw, Jester's dead....great reference! Another good video my man. That is a gorgeous car.
3:05 What's up with the little snuff box? A simple push button ignition wouldn't do?
Swedish beauty🔮🇸🇪
I have been looking for a used s80 first gen but damn, this is really nice. Thanx for showing. Love volvo
I have a 2010 S80 with 80,200 miles on it. Best looking and performace car I have ever owned. Made in Sweden.
And this car
in black is very masculine. Love it! Thinking of buying a used 2019 if i can find one.
Frankly this one is a real masterpiece
Does this compete with the Audi A4 or Audi A6 ?
...never mind that it is now made in South Carolina.
Great info! Looks like your in Spokane?
only bad thing about new volvos is the gerabox that comes only in automatic
ps, I said a while ago I was going to pull the trigger on an SUV and thanks to your reviews I bought a new Mazda CX-5 and I love it!
How would compare this S60 to a StingerGT AWD?
That intro speech....Wait...,WHAT!?!,!😂😂
DrEvilToBe I was thinking the same thing lol
Dave, where'd your hat go??? Good review, sir. In fact, one of your best reviews.
I left it in the house. Thank you for the nice comment.
Another Awesome review Dave, “FO SHIZZLE”.😎👍
I am confused by the Inscription, Momentum, and Premier. I want to lease one but I am unsure. Now you throw in the R-Line. I'm even more confused. I drove the momentum and it was heaven so I am not sure what is different from R-Line. They looked the same. What am I missing?
Is your Google broke?
Momentum, entry level. R-Design, sportier. Inscription, highest level trim and engine choices.
This would be a nice upgrade from my 2012 S60, but... I'm looking more toward Tesla. ;)
Get the t8, 400 hp
Sounds like a thirsty car. I have the t5 but it keeps getting problems. I'm torn between the model 3 and model S.
That's anti American
@@johansvensson830 anti American to buy a Tesla? As opposed to buying a Swedish car? ;)
@@wshaffer79 Ive heard that telslas have bad quality, dont know if its true. Just make sure to do your reasearch ;)
Mr Dave, where is the report from the ORV park?? You have to, it's a part of you and ED. ORV ORV ORV ORV ORV ORV
Would love to look at one of these in the flesh, and drive one too. ^_^
I'm poor, but I drive a 2006 Volvo s60, and i love it. haha Certainly it isn't perfect, but the combination of safety, comfort, performance, and looks are hard to beat. I'm guessing the newer gen s60s are similar.
Erickson...that is surely an old Swedish surname; "Eriksson" or Ericsson"! Great vid!
Have owned 4 Volvos; this may become the 5th!
Dave how come you previewed the genesis G70 at all? What's up?
Wow they took the S90 and made it affordable
Sushi wonder how big that inscription back seat is gonna be...
I like the editing of your videos. It flows well.
WKaznartist Thank you very much, I took a different approach to my editing this time around and it turned out better than I expected.
this onw way wrong:what happen if computer system lag on start up or not working >must add normal way also
key use
aor add another computer system if first one broblem
Hey Dave, at the end you say the pricing ranges from $35,00 to $55,000. Can I have the $35 one please LoL 😂
You reviews are great but the music is terrible makes me want to fast forward.
Thank you and I'm sorry.
@@everymandriver just to let you know I watch pretty much all of your reviews keep up the good work!
Such a gorgeous car...Need more Volvo Dave!
Yeeha..Great balls of fire
