Such an honest classy guy with an incredible physique. Met him in the gym a couple times. Very nice and was very approachable. His waist and X frame were a sight to behold. Never saw him loading up the weights. He obviously didn’t need to. Nice to see he still has his health, shape and good size.
Thank you Tony, I met u at an Arnold meet and greet the pros. U came out from behind the booth and showed a tall fella like yourself how to squat properly.......I've been great at it ever since!
I remember meeting Tony in 2008 in Perth WA. He was doing an appearance at weigh in for a Mr Australiasia comp at a gym there. We asked him what he had for Breakfast every Morning and he just put 2 hands up creating a big circle between then said "A big bowl of Greens". I remember the whole room going quiet, even me, just being taken by that, because we never knew or heard of any professional especially a top 5 Olympian that was relying on anything other than complex carbs like oats, sweet potato, brown rice or grits. He was placing top 5 in Olympia following Keto and only fibrous carbs. I even knew the guy who was looking after his food and accommodation there, he even told me the same. I really like his philosophy on the Longevity aspect in the sport and I feel alot of competitors and people in general can benefit from his knowledge.
@MrXman22 Xmannnn!! I forgot to mention in the story about when the whole group realised that you were also accomplishing 2008 condition while you were in your 40's!! Glad to see you're still at it man!! Looking forward to seeing you do more interviews and online content
This is the best bodybuilding interview ever. I could listen to you both talk for hours. PLEASE do more stuff with the Xman! He truly is one of my goats.
The X-Man is one of the realest bodybuilders bar none! These youngsters need to listen to this OG because they are just flaming out and dying unnecessarily because they are ignorant and impatient.

Toney's cool, seems for real, physique was ridiculous, I remember watching a megapack of all the Olympia's post 2000 and he was in there and you don't forget a physique like that. He wasn't kidding those dudes competing in those days were really damn competitive, they had to be they followed up the 90's guys.
@@muscleandstrength on the interwebs, a rip, it went up to 2013, I haven't seen it around for a long time. But it introduced me to a lot of athletes that I otherwise would've overlooked because of the hierarchical publicity in the sport.
Amazing interviews and Tony is a GOAT💪🤙👏 Amazing physique fr a such a tall dude. Shame on the politics at that time that held this awesome bodybuilder back.
a lot of top bodybuilders are very intelligent people. i especially noticed this with the black bodybuilders they all seem to be above average in IQ or at least quite a few of them do.
I miss the days of these guys doing multiple shows. Now, doing only the Olympia or Arnold has just cheapened the other shows, as the “big boys” only go for those two.
Wise king, "Best mode" aint not way of living for the long term. NO STOP, BEST MODE BLABLABLABLA.........and what about stay still a second and enjoy the moment, life, the instant youre on. Cant live long at 200 mph 24/7/365
I disagree. Wesley, Derek, Hadi, CBUM all stay in very good shape year round. The crazy bulking phases seem like a thing of the past. Do they guest pose? Maybe not, but a majority of BBs don’t get too overweight now.
I don’t think a lot of athletes realize what they put their bodies through during preps. It’s rare to hear someone say they get labs drawn monthly, when in reality it would be the best way to truly show what your body is going through when using specific compounds. Toney seemed pretty on top of his labs and health in general so when he received that news he started making plans to retire .
@@justsayin5084 check out episode 1 for a bit more info as to what he did building his foundation. He was eating crazy high calories for many years to put on size. In regards to compounds I think he’s just a firm believer in keeping consistent levels vs blasting & cruising. I’m sure it changed a bit leading up to a show but this makes a lot of sense regarding how often he competed if you think about it. His receptors were never fried
