  • The Oceania Precision SP15 is a straight pull, bolt action rifle made in Australia. They're an impressive product, especially considering they're only made by a one man show.
    Today we'll be going in-depth and tell you everything you need to know!

    Great review and confirmed my suspicion regarding users trying to mag dump causing overheating tolerance issues on a precisely tolerant firearm hence why i wasn't settled on these particular reports. Definitely looking to get one in the 350 Legend platform.

    I like to see how other countries get around certain laws to be able to enjoy ar style rifles. I like my AR’s but also like my uintah uppers that are bolt action uppers that go on my ar lowers.

    Does this use standard AR mags? I couldn’t see anywhere where it mentions that? Or do they have their own proprietary mags? Such a cool rifle. I like how similar in ergonomics they are to an m4/AR15 platform.

      They do take standard AR mags. They come with a Magpul P-Mag from the factory.

    Still hoping for a 9mm straight pull, someone in Australia must look at adding this round as a option?
    9mm is still the cheapest centrefire round with double the power at 100 metres than a 22 magnum

    Not very is the short answer. Just about all of the Aussie made AR type models ive seen have feeding issues, especially when they get hot.

    You would have to like the look and feel of the AR-15 platform a lot to pay that price for a platform that shoots single 223 in 10 rng mags lol

  • @Spruce-Bug
    @Spruce-Bug 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Nice rifle you guys have down there but why put the charging handle on the left side for right handed shooters? You'll have faster follow up shots by using the trigger hand not the support hand, demonstrated by many European straight pulls.

    • @TheOutpostArms
      @TheOutpostArms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They're available with the charging handle on either side, whichever the shooter prefers.

      I have shot straight pulls in both configurations. I am right handed. I prefer shooting them with the charging handle on the left. It feels better and I shoot better.

    I just watched another review and noticed that after firing five rounds at a normal cycle the bolt begins to stiffen up and requires excessive force to work the bolt. Quite concerning for a $4k plus rifle!!!

      @samueldummler7307 Despite some of the negative reviews, I decided to order a sp15. That was back in July 2023. I am still waiting for it without any surity of when it will be ready. So far, I'm not too happy with Oceania.

      @@nicholasrg4769 It takes time. It's literally 1 man running the entire business by himself including all the manufacturing and designing. He does one run of each model every 6 months to a year or so. It is single handedly the best business I have ever dealt with in my life, he works 7 days a week a lot of the time. Just be patient. It is an incredible rifle and it is well worth the wait, I have the first batch Gen 1 and it's an awesome rifle.
