When you talk about north India being feebly inclusive as compared to south India, it is mainly because when Islam came to Kerala, it was through trade and acceptance, but the North has faced much more brutality and forceful behaviour from Islamic invaders than preachers. When you point towards the North Indian people, also be considerate about the agony and impositions faced by them resulting to the generations of distrust for Islam.
I’m not saying it’s valid, but the people need to realise that those days are gone and the people today are not proud of what happened yesterday.

I could never grasp this particular thing that when did speaking against oppression of minorities and questioning Government became equivalent to sedation or against integrity and sovereignty of India. As a BHU student myself I feel really saddened by such behavior, it gives the wrong impression to people about this university. I would say 90-95% BHU is really inclusive, our warder(one of biggest hostel in BHU) is a non hindu and he gives addresses on Diwali and Janmastami, but we never have any problem with it, in fact we feel proud of that . So I would urge my fellow students to the follow the real values of Hinduism and create a inclusive environment

Peaceful agreed; but this is also a racist protest and it is also obstructing the course of your institute. If they protested and attended his lecture, not punishing them would have been sensible. Just my opinion. 😅

Again media is hiding the real news. Sanskrit Dharm vigyan department is not just about language , but about rituals as well like doing yagya. Yagya is actually done to teach to do it.

I agree 👍. Sanskrit helps in learning other South Indian languages too. In Kannada 70 percent words are from kannada. So I could learn it very fast. I learnt Sanskrit only till 9th.

Firoze ji is such a humble person. He has no hard feelings for those who have protested being all brainwashed. He still wishes to continue teaching at BHU. I think he should be given a fair chance. Discrimination on basis of religion, gender etc. is an offence. Taking name of 'values' they can't take away rights of a Professor as the one from minority community. What values are these talking about? That's how rightful citizens are being silenced by divisive forces. We all must condemn such acts within educational institutions. We must support Feroze Khan ji for the change he wishes to bring in the academic field. Language imposition and supremacy of majority over a language, both are dangerous and we must speak up what is right. More power to the Prof. He must do what is right and never fear from doing what is meant to be done. Your genuine students need you.

There are alot of hindu teacher in my madarsa. My college is a muslim college (a branch of that madarsa) 80% staff of the college is hindu, the principal is a Hindu Pandit.
In Kerala there are Hindu teachers teaching Arabic and it's not a problem here .

There is no problem with his teaching sanskrit as a language which he can do in the arts faculty as a sanskrit literature profesdor...but the department assigned to him has to do strictly everything with religion(he will have to DO some hindu practices which his religion won't allow)Would you allow a hindu to become maulvi just because he can read Quran and is an expert in Arabic?

Abid Saiyed is teaching Sanskrit in Baroda's Muslim MES school for the last 22 years. There are six Muslim M.Phil students in Sanskrit in his village Hadgud near Anand!
Sanskrit is not a language of Hindus only. Nor Arabi and Urdu of Muslims only.
It is such narrow mindset which has prevented Hindu religion and Sanskrit language from spreading across the globe. Hinduism used to boycott those who used to cross the oceans untill recently. Gandhiji was prevented from entering into a temple because he went to England for a study by crossing an ocean in a ship.
Why have English, French and Spanish spread in many countries? Their brave people used to venture out crossing oceans and travel to far off unknown lands as far as 15th centuary!

This professor simply wants to teach Sanskrit, without discriminating against his students. If the students really cared about education, they wouldn't bother knowing if the prof is a hindu or a muslim. It's just sad how such young kids only look at the religion to judge a person's character. Clearly, this protest is politically motivated. I truly believe in what the professor said, "get to know me better", try to look beyond the ideas of religion and caste and everything that divides us from living in a harmonious society. Hate cannot be won over by hate.
Be proud of your own culture and contribute to your own culture instead of contributing to others culture....they hate you....
