It should have been mentioned that they have different pickups and different ways of splitting the coils. Standard 24: 85/15 S pickups, push/pull tone knob, so either both humbucker or both split single coil. Standard 24-08: TCI-S pickups, separate switches for each pickup to keep humbucker or make split. Therefore, there are 8 combinations of humbucker and coil split sounds available.
Great review!! Congratulations. No jibber-jabber so far. Just fine playing and clear display. Both are freaking similar guitars, almost like twin-sisters but I tend to feel 24/08 a bit clearer than the regular standard. Anyway, the difference is subtle. Keep it up! Cheers!
The bass is more balanced on the standard with the humbuckers posotions. But the 24/08 get back perfect with the different splits. Need more equa with the humbucker. Or maybe a better setting of them
hi @musicforce11 I noticed the nut is black rather than white shown on older 2020/2021 models...Is that a synthetic/bronze powder blend nut "update" to the synthetic nut that some customers were complaining about, causing tuning instability?...I see some standard 24's have nuts labeled pps plastic under tech specs. any thoughts on if this instrument stays in tune would be appreciated.
I have the older one, had to upgrade to a tusq nut for tuning stability, low e was always out. If you notice his nut on the older one isn't stock anymore, they were white
08 stand for how many different pickup settings you have on the guitar, the 08 version lets you have combos like 1 split coil and hum bucker but in the standard you can only have both pickups be single coil or humbucker mode. It’s just a little more versatile. The tone is basically the same.
@@archiefury several reasons but PRS has moved SE construction from Korea to Indonesia quality has suffered dramatically quality control has suffered dramatically PRS pretends that there is no problem PRS offers no assistance for the customer and considering that I am a Huge PRS fan I am extremely disappointed 🤦🏻♂️ even though I said that I would never purchase another PRS SE guitar from Sweetwater a 2023 Tremonti SE and the quality of the veneer was Soo extremely bad I returned it to Sweetwater so before you purchase especially on line go to the music stores and instead of being enamored actually check out the quality 😞
The Cort factory is excellent. But honestly I do not care if you don’t buy anymore PRS guitars, I just bought the SE CE, and this exact Standard. I couldn’t find a damn thing wrong with either of them and I got them on sale. I have 5. 3 American made and those two SE’s. All great.
@@tonyr669 if my experience was great I would say it was great but it doesn’t matter to me if you had 15 or 20 amazing experiences the only one that matters to me is my experience and my dissatisfaction and my frustration and my disappointment 🤦🏻♂️ I won’t ever buy another PRS no worries 😉

The sound of the red one sounded a little bit darker.
I agree, its cleans are not quite as pristine and bell like compared to the 20-08, IMO.

Red one sounds ever so slightly better with a broader tone but its so minimal that if you weren't A Bing them they would sound practically identical.
