I was waiting for this comparison, I bought the standard one because it is cheaper and I could pay for it, the custom one is only pretty but for me it is the same sound, thank you guys for this Review
Got to be honest my week old Standard SE 24/08 Tobacco burst is better than guitars I’ve spent 3x as much on, Gibson-Fender- Jackson etc. it’s not just the Tone, Ring, TCi S Pickups, Build, Feel, it’s all those things, but so much more than the sum of it’s parts, I can’t put it down and so wished I’d tried that one back in 92 in Denmark street when I bought my first Les Paul! Paul Reed Smith and he’s team are Geniuses.
Thats a damn helpful comparison, thank you. What about the bevel were the right arm meets the body... Are they the same on both guitars (somehow really important for me) ?
Thanks! I can’t hear much difference in tones. I am seriously thinking about buying the Ezra green custom, but the blue is also very nice with its binding and colour matched headstock. What a difficult choice, especially when it’s really hard to actually lay hands on one and try it. Cheers 👍
Could you feel any difference in the touch of the necks? I've been told that although both models marked as "wide thin" neck the standard one is thicker, is it true?
Prolly little bit too late to answer for those who will read this in future then😂😂 I tried both Cu24 and Std 24 yesterday, I felt like the Std’s neck is little bit thicker than the custom one. Ps.I dont know why but I kinda like the std neck touching more, it suits my hand pretty well😊
The Standard has slightly more midrange energy and less defined basses. It's a very subtle difference, but it's there, and is likely due to the maple cap on the Custom.
The Custom 24 model now uses the pickups from the S2 model. So it's a pretty good upgrade, they continue to improve the quality of the overseas models. The tonal woods are still not as good as the S2, and more detail is put into the S2. I just wonder when they will use the Core pickup in the S2, which would be a fantastic. The Core is just so expensive. I could go for a S2 if it had the Core pickup. Here is to wishing they do so in the future.
The Standard sounds like it has a tighter bottom on the Neck PU, with the Custom being a bit more full in the bottom. That's the only difference I could hear for sure.
Excellent well done review, with a clean guitar like it should be 👏👏👏👏

Thanks for no hi gain shredding! 👍🏻 Ok, just a bit at the last seconds 😁

That’s beautiful
Got my Standard two days ago in blue, nice guitar, love the binding!

Is the gain part from some song or did you wrote it?

I’ve been told they’re exactly the same feel wise so it shouldn’t be a problem!

Cool! Me too. Wanted to hear these two side by side. Thank you 🙏🥳

I completely agree.
A pickups' adjustment maybe solve the problem

What song are you playing for the demo for the clean tones?
The standard is warmer.
The custom is clearer.
Definitely. One of the warmest sounds I ever heard. Still accurate too!
makes sense! still can't decide which I like better 😮💨
확실히 커스텀이 줄을 터치할때 소리까지 세심하게 잘 들리네요. 픽업 차이가 이렇게 크구나...
According Prs. They are both TCI S pickups now
Blue is enough for me.
The standard sounds to me brighter. Probably due to the different pickups?
To me too, but very slightly. It's very similar. I prefer the Standard actually

Seems like they all sound pretty much the same
