WORLDS MOST MIND BLOWING SALOON - Mercedes C Class Review C220d. 2023.

  • The Mercedes C-Class remains one of the brand’s most popular models, and the latest W206 model is more packed with clever features than ever before thanks to tech trickling down from Mercedes’ larger models. Not only is the new C-Class more luxurious and tech-filled than previously, it’s also been designed to offer a sharp driving experience good enough to quash the other German competition.
    So that means it’s got to be good to drive, and extremely efficient too. Thanks to mild-hybrid tech featuring on all models and wide range of potent petrol and diesels to choose from, it’s got those bases covered.
    But should you lease one? Among other things, in this review Howard Ritchie checks out the mind-blowing Driver Assistance package (aka DISTRONIC), plays with the endlessly adaptable 64-colour interior ambient lighting and considers whether the stunning AMG-Line steering wheel is suitable for child hands. That and much more in the video.

It’s a nice luxury car but with an incredibly cheap feel to some of the plastics and switches. Also, the drive is no where near as exciting as the Alfa but it was the closest car they could give me.

      Built quality is poor compared to BMW . I was once a Merc fan but no longer due to poor built quality .

    • @joelamosun9341

      Yeah I agree with you. The build and mechanical quality was not the best on the previous C-Class. I had a C300h for a month, on two separate occasions. (Two different cars with the same engine configuration.) The diesel hybrid. This was even in 2015, when they were launched. Drove nice but once you floored it in sports plus mode the gear box would go into limp mode....in both of the cars I drove! You'd have to stop the car, restart it before it cleared. The plastics were quite scratchy and cheap to the touch. I've met others who've had issues with their C-Classes as well. More serious than the ones I've experienced. I think the BMs have stepped up their quality overall, especially with the G30 5 series and the 7 series that Mr Ritchie has. Saying that, this new C-Class looks awesome in and out. I hope they've resolved all the issues from the previous model.

  • @Frankie5Angels150
    @Frankie5Angels150 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    “Mild hybrid” does NOT drive the wheels when the engine stops! It is strictly to spin up the turbocharger electronically until the exhaust turbine takes over, thus reducing turbo lag. It is neither for fuel economy only or anything else other than turbo performance.
    The Auto Stop/Start is only for when you stop in traffic to meet California emission standards. It actually reduces fuel mileage and wears out your starter.
    I have a 2023 C-43 AMG and am in the habit of disabling that stupid “feature” every time I start the car. It’s great that the button is on the same dial as the starter.
    The air conditioning is automatic in mine so I have no idea what you are talking about with your a/c. Might be a UK vs USA thing.
    Best car I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned done if the best.

    • @RandomShart
      @RandomShart ปีที่แล้ว

      @@maxmorris4562 driving experience is usually overrated, as in the difference doesn't really matter for most people. if you like to thrash your car on B roads then sure go with BMW but most of these cars will spend their life on the motorway or in traffic, so comfort should be prioritised in those scenarios.
      The main issue I had with my last C class was reliability. It spent a lot of time at the dealer with problems, usually for electrical faults. Hopefully this one is improved in that respect. Looks a nice car.

    I like the car as a whole, but I am tired of Mercedes having an 'AMG Line' with everything. If I want one with all the bells and whistles, I have to get an AMG Line. Mercedes is supposed to stand for luxury, comfort and elegance, and that's what I'm after. It is not supposed to be "sporty" or "aggressive" in any way. If Mercedes can package all the bells and whistles in an 'Elegance Line' package, with burr walnut, beige Nappa leather, and the upright star on the bonnet, then shut up and take my money. Until then, I'll hang onto my W211.

    Having had 3 BMW 3 Series, I looked at the C class. No 6 cylinder, cheap plastics, mad steering wheel, gear stalk which you use all the time is made out of the cheapest feeling plastic ever. Infotainment is even more confusing than the BMW, seat materials from a taxi. Sound system is epic if you can afford it. Nightime lightshow looks great but reflects everywhere when youre driving. Great looking thing though. Ultimately its way too expensive to live with compared to BMW, Audi etc

    I'm sorry, the definition of mind blowing of a car doesn't refer to exterior nor interior. But what's hidden under the hood.
    The ICE and geartrain of this car is still ice age, nothing jaw dropping to say the least.
    Did you know all the concept of ICE is reciprocating and it's wrong right from the beginning? Yes, it's true. Engines had been wrongly and stupidly developed since day one. Reciprocating concept is not suitable to generate power. In fact it's poor in efficiency.
    My question is what is going on with the world? Cars are stupid boxes with wheels. These aren't anti gravity flying machines. Should be the simplest vehicles throughout the universe. Why can't we get it right even until today?
    Listen up Mercedes! Tell your R&D department to come up with something really tangible, really really ming blowing. Until then no Christmas for everybody.

      I'm sure there will be an electric version at some point. Also electric cars are getting a tad more expensive to buy and run these days. Ask those who own them Sir. Energy crisis.....Some fast charging points will now cost you as much as 35 - 40 pounds, and you have to wait 35 - 40 minutes for that privilege. Infrastructure still has a lot of catching up to do as a good number of these charging points do not work. If you don't have a charge pod on your driveway or garage, then it's not going to be cheap to run. I've even heard from some of my customers that charging an electric car from home now is no longer cheap. If the government had not intervened with the energy relief package, I can assure you people would be leaving their electric cars at home. Be careful what you wish for....
