I went up to go knock on this door because of how overgrown the lawn was when I saw the front door padlocked shut and a notice from code enforcement from over 6 months ago. So, I spoke with the next door neighbor to get a little bit backstory on the home. He told me the owner lives over 7 hours away and the city has given up on sending people out to cut it. The overgrowth is really affecting the drainage in the area and looking horrible for everyone around it. So, I decided to get it all cleaned up and looking amazing again.

Do you sharpen your shovel alot?
🙋🐈⬛ hey from meandpip from Youngstown Ohio USA another awesome. You are the best Spencer 🎉😊
Done
You inspired me to mow and trim my elderly neighbor's backyard last summer. We share an alley. She's alone and can't afford to pay anyone for it. It was a really small yard but it took me a long time. I'm in my 50s, disabled, and only have a push mower and cheap weed whacker. That damn grass was as high as my knee. The feeling I had afterwards, besides a bit of pain, was humble elation. I helped make a difference in her life. She said it was nice to know she still mattered (I cried after she said that), and her dog could walk in the yard again. Spring is coming... more kindness to sow, peeps!
That is so nice of you for helping your neighbor god bless you
That’s awesome! If there’s any chance you could go back and work on her yard every two weeks, or once a month, that would make her whole life so much better, and your effort would not have to be anywhere near as hard. Either way, you are a really good neighbor.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I have a lot of jingles in my head and I just heard the traditional version of, “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is there!” You are the good neighbor that they are referring to… 🧡
What a nice thing for you to do for her. Bless you. 😊
Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful to do a hard job for your neighbor. You were an angel to her. God bless you.
Spencer, two or three more cuts and I'm positive Corpus Christi will canonize you. You're awesome.
This yard, the lady crying over the cleared sidewalks, the dog chilling with you, saving a cat, organizing a $150k+ drive for an animal shelter...
St. Spencer is not the hero we deserve; he's the one we need.
💯 % agree with you @7timsch
Yea, Spencer needs a key to the city…I’ll make it happen!
❤😂

👍 up. I second your comment
Single mom here… I just have to say your videos are the ONLY thing my 10 month old baby will sit down and watch at bed time when he’s overtired and fussy. They’ve been a major help and calm him down so fast. Witching 5-10 minutes he has sleepy eyes and will go to sleep👌🏼😭🙌🏼
Currently is sick and has been fussy. This is the most relaxed he’s been all day! Random but THANK YOU!!!! This is Baby ASMR❤
Us too! My son is 2 and he LOVES these videos! He has actually started acting them out in our yard with a little tykes mower and weed eater 🤣
Probably loves the sound of the "white noise"! ❤️
Lol I'm 36 and this puts me to sleep. But let me wake up at 8am and hear a lawn mower. 😂
Best!!!!!
Funny how life is and what cures us.
Hon, if i was that neighbor, I'd be there with a sandwich and some fresh squeezed tangerine juice saying thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!😅😅
the neighbors need to say "Thank you" more frequently.
WILD. a third of the driveway was overgrown with grass growing on it...
It is so much easier to remove all the grass on the drive if it was mowed first. Then those giant clump are not so hard to pick up and remow over. I mowed for a living for about 20 years!
Good Morning There My Good Little Bro Spencer Of SB Mowing & SB Pressure Washing
What gets me is when he speaks to neighbors some of them respond with,…can you cut mine for free too! Some people are so lazy
The neighbors need to keep it mowed from now on. A quick mowing will keep the community looking looking good.
A whole company gave up on this place but you ALONE did a beautiful job cleaning it up!!! way to go!!! amazing work you do
The city should hire you to take care of it.
It just shows what determination can do.
Ain’t that the TRUTH!!!!! 💯💯💯

Spencer, your back has to be SCREAMIN after these jobs where you’re scraping sod off the concrete. This is some serious labor. You’re a good man & we all appreciate your drive.
I can't last 2 minutes vacuuming with my back. He's in great shape.
That assist handle on the shovel (and the one on the weed-eater) are a great invention.
I had one on a snow shovel and it was amazing how much difference it made.
Later, I transitioned to a shovel with an S-like curved hand that had similar benefit.
Amen To That 🕺🏾
The City should pay you for all of your hard work! God bless you SB!

This is my husband’s account, but I’m the wife and I watch you whenever I get a chance. Please take care of yourself. You do a lot of back breaking work. I try and tell as many young people as I can. I worked in healthcare for many years. I lifted many heavy patients. I’m paying for it now with severe back problems. I always felt fine all my life. You won’t feel it now, but you may someday. Please take care.
As a former spousal caregiver and hone health aide who now has back problems (and other disabling conditions), I agree! ❤

Hey there---thank you for your service as a health care professional. Now---go and get yourself a MASSAGE THERAPIST as well as some other alternative healing body work done----and learn all about aging and being pain free. It's not the exercise that ruins one's body---it's a lot of other contributing factors like stress, poor food choices, and becoming sedentary. YOGA isn't just for 20-somethings either. Gentle stretching and beathing will help.
He said that yard would make for a good show, and he wasn't lying! What a mess it was!
It reminds me of the motto my boss had when I worked landscaping.
"A weed is ANY plant growing where you don't want it."
Such a shame to see these houses abandoned with so many people out there looking for a roof over their heads...anyway great job with the tiding up of the garden :)
God bless you Spencer! That is very hard work you do for free. When my husband was in the USAF we lived on a street with elderly people all around us. When he mowed our yard, he mowed the yards of several elderly people for free. In the neighborhood we live in now, he mows our Nextdoor neighbors yard for him too. He says it was a lot easier back then when he was in his mid twenties. Now he is 66 and it’s not as easy on him but he enjoys helping people out. I pray that God blesses you and your family in a big way for all that you do!
Thankful for you, not just for the work you do but for being an inspiration to all your followers.
I appreciate that!
OMG Spencer. Curb, what curb? You had to move 1/2 mile of dirt and grass to find it. And you showed us the children's footprints, which is very touching. Sometimes when you see these old abandoned homes you forget that they held a lot of memories for someone. Thank You.
What a mess. There was enough sod at the end of the driveway to start a whole new yard! It’s so nice to see the finished product looking so tidy and neat. Another great transformation.
You're such a godsend to the community by helping with the drainage problems on that street. You rock Spencer!
Great transformation for the neighborhood. Shame on the landowner and city for not doing their jobs.
The owner of the home should have to pay to have the yard cleaned up. Also pay monthly to have it mowed. The problem with the city is they only come around with a mower nothing else.
Why should it be up to the city to maintain or otherwise care for somebody else's property?
@@StudSupremeit’s because the city can fine the owner for the job being done. SB mowing can’t.
@@KitKatTikTak SO? Finding the owner is not that difficult even for someone in the neighborhood. You can find those records online or in city/county records offices. Why do you expect the govt to 'take care' of everything around you? The govt is not your parents.
@@StudSupreme it’s literally their job to do it. The city’s job to deal with over grown yards and abandoned buildings. But you can keep going off trying to protect the ‘poor little government’ from having to do its job.
It sure as hell ain’t SB’s job. He’s just nice and doing it for the city, neighborhood and the homeowner.
Man just the stuff at the road you cleaned will make a big difference drain wise. Nice job.
This by far the most overgrown yard I have ever seen someone on TH-cam take on. This was phenomenal. You are phenomenal. What an amazing clean up. I'm sure the neighbors are elated.
Spencer, you ARE an Angel!! Thank you for everything you do with, not only your OWN community but, traveling and helping with OTHER communities!!

I'm excited watching your videos it's really helpful to those peoples that cannot afford to pay the services - subcriber from PHs
The city should rent out the driveway as a sod farm.
Also, some enterprising person should develop an implement on the order of a push mower with a retractable horizontal blade to cut under thatched grass in spots like grown over driveways and curbs to save landscapers' backs.
Great job Spencer, the city is downright lazy and people living there in that area should tell them so.
@@Gbolas1989our tax dollars at work 😢
My back hurts watching you. Bless you ❤❤❤
This is a golden opportunity for the community to build housing for those in need. You've certainly done your fair share of work on it!
Mother Nature has her tendrils deep in that one! It makes you wonder how long would it take a city to disappear if everything was left to go wild.
There was a series on PBS back in the late 80s or early 90s that showed what would happen to the cities if people and animals disappeared. It didn't take that long for nature to take over. Too bad it was only aired once. It was very interesting.
Just look at Pripyat, the city next to Chernobyl. The apartment buildings are still up, but the forest has reclaimed the land around them.
The Chernobyl area is a clear demonstration of how quickly nature reclaims abandoned areas. You can even look at the pandemic a few years ago to see evidence of that. Some examples: in Venice, tourism collapsed. The canals had clear water for the first time in centuries. Fish moved back in IMMEDIATELY. Also, in Sardinia, a naval port basically shut down, and a few days later, there were fish and even dolphins.
The History channel had a series that depicted what life would be like after humans left, I believe it was "Life After Humans" , very intriguing to say the least, I'd recommend watching it,
Its been Calculated and shown from numerous other examples like cities around chernobyl, but the average city would take approx 15 years for the wilderness to over take it, meanwhile a city like New York, would take approx a century due to the composition of the structures.
Mrs. SB is lucky to have a man with such integrity and such a hard worker.
Isn't that the truth? He is a very hard worker and very dedicated in what he does. Mrs. SB Mowing is very lucky to have someone like him who is not afraid of work.
Just when I think you're done with cement slabs you find another one! Probably should have left the vines growing on the fence. Just about all that was holding it together. Always a pleasure to watch your great work Spencer 💯
I would like to offer a thanksgiving prayer for you.

I like how the house to the right of this one is boarded up but at least the yard has been cut
I LOVE how you disappear into the backyard only to materialize somewhere else in the yard
I laughed at that. He took the wheelbarrow in the back then was trimming. No wonder he does it so well. Lol
Me too. It’s cute. It’s like where’s Waldo.
@@Hopeforus24 And we are all fooled into thinking he DOESN'T have an army of clones working with him!

Why, oh why, can a city, issue citations for overgrown yards, BUT, when the city takes over the property, and then gives up on? Why, oh why, can't we fine them?

Congrats to St. Spencer. I know, but it sounded good.

That looks like a very nice, older neighborhood. I feel sorry for them having two abandoned houses on their block. Both are probably tear downs.

Impressive change!
Wow Spencer you are a Superhero! To say this property was a HOT MESS is an understatement! Superb work! GOD bless you and yours! ❤️💪👏
The thing that amazes me about what you do is that you do it all by yourself. You have the energy that a lot of people wish they had. WTG Spencer! 👏

You need a miniature farm tractor w/mower and hay baler. That was terrible
I think this is my favorite SB mowing episode ! Your talent and dedication to completing the job is amazing! Can you bill the city or the bank for the clean up since the neighbor said the previous hired company gave up? I know you did this for the neighbors/neighborhood but if a little cash is available go for it! Thanks for this amazing transformation

When the random neighbor knows your work ... ! Great job Spencer. Love to see good guys succeed.
Do you ever hear from the homeowners after seeing their house cleaned up?
I wondered that too. And do you ever go back to see if they have decided to keep the yard up? Sooo much grass on this one.
@@Pjsafa7373 there's no chance these abandoned lots don't just go back to being terribly overgrown. it's a nice act, makes him content, and buys some time before the situation gets this bad again, but no way the owner is all of a sudden going to start keeping up with maintenance on the abandoned ones.
@@marcup1584I agree, but maybe it'll show the county that they need to hire a new contractor because the complaints stopped for a while. Lol. Idk where this is but in the town I grew up in, in SE Texas, it took forever to get anyone to do anything about overgrown lots, especially in the country. So all of the local rednecks would get together with their big equipment and would mow the lots to keep animals and trash from accumulating more. The county started paying them to do it. Sometimes it just takes doing it once, sometimes it takes a lot more civil crap.
It's too bad that the people in the neighborhoods don't take turns running a lawnmower over the places once in a while. It seems like many times, the people who own the places are old, in a nursing home, or dead. It would make the neighborhood look nicer if they did, especially after SB Mowing gets all the big stuff done.
@@anntowle1706 I've thought the same thing.
This was a first, watching you push huge tree trunks with your mower! Hey, it worked! This yard looks so much better. I am glad that you took the time to remove all of the small trees. I am sure the neighbors appreciate the job you did. Keep up the good work. You are a blessing to so many.
SB You are truly an artist. You have taken a diamond in the rough and made it a beautiful canvas.
If Hustler needs a Proof Of Performance, THIS IS IT! Talk about Torque. An incredible machine. This should be playing in every outlet they have. Love SB Mowing.
That is an amazing machine! I don't need a lawnmower/bulldozer but now I want one
Wow. 😮 This one was a hum-dinger!
Great job!
I am just astonished. At only 10 minutes into your video, I was ready to call it quits. The cold, the wind, and all that overgrown grass EVERYWHERE! I don't know how you do it. Fabulous job, as always!
Oof 😣 that stubborn grass carpet that made you get your wheelbarrow out! 😮😢😮 My arms and shoulders hurt just watching you fight with it. You're such a great guy, Spencer...the definition of a blessing 😊
Spencer, this has got to be one of the wildest homes that was overgrown. Your consistent willingness to go out of your way to make neighborhoods look amazing is applauded. Thank you.
Today's youth have a phrase they like to use, "Go touch grass!" my generation's version of, "Get real!" We love watching you. I can’t do this anymore so my wife tries to do the yard. She is 68 but she learns from you. Thank you
If ever someone embodied the concept of be the change you want to see in the world, it's you. When the neighbor recognized you and complemented what you do I was literally sitting here applauding.
Crazy that the grass was hiding the fallen tree(s). You have shown the world that acts of kindness is rewarding. Keep it up Spenser.
Thank you Spencer for helping the neighborhood with your work.
It's heartbreaking to see those houses in such an abandoned state 😢.
So many people are in need of a roof over their heads and they are homeless, some have homes and don't care about them.
If someone gives me a house even looking as bad as this one I would love to fix them and have a place to call my home, as are now so many people dreaming about it as well.
Oh my word... that's a crazy yard to tackle... wow... the strips of GRASS peeling off concrete.... I know those home us EMPTY, but picking up thick grass looks so much nicer........ oh my stars, that's nuts. You are brave to tackle this yard indeed.... rear needs bushhogged!!

I don't even live in Texas and I appreciate Spencer for what he does for Texans. I'm an Arkie). His MOWER is a BEAST. Who'd think a mower would go through that tall grass AND the shovels full of dirt without dying.

Awesome job!!!Meanwhile in Dallas: “crap, that’s my house!”
Probably more like “cool, someone else took care of it, I don’t have to be held accountable.”
But a little shame would do the owner good.
Another ton of grass without weeds job. Awesome transformation! It's weird how grass seeds/spores just need a little dirt on top of concrete to grab onto and grow. That driveway was killer! The neighbor was right - you gave us a good show!

Spencer, you are an angel to the many people you help by taking care of their yards. God bless you!
... never ceases to amaze that neighbours allow this to happen.
Nowadays, people just don't seem to care about anyone nor anything ...
You're the rare exception, SB Mowing - that's why your hard work is so gratifying to witness.
Thank you very much indeed.
Hi from so. California, I totally agree with you!
So, you think the neighbors should have to constantly make up for the homeowner's negligence?
Also, do you think SB does this 100% altruistically? Because if that were true, he wouldn't have a TH-cam channel for doing these. I'm not trying to trash him or anything. I think he does a good job and is a good help, but I think you need to fix your perspective here.
It's one thing to help the old lady next door with her groceries or mow your neighbor's lawn when they're on vacation. It's another thing to expect neighbors to maintain a lawn that's not theirs just because the owner CBA to take care of it. Maybe you should be complaining about the homeowner, who's actually responsible, instead of acting like others have a duty to compensate for the owner's inattention.
I will tell you from experience that if you go onto some people's property with the best intentions, they will sue you. I did my neighbor's because he was gone, got in a car wreck (in another country) and I cut it just the way he likes it. I got a letter from his lawyer and so on. I THOUGHT (so did everyone) we were friends so I tried to help but some people are weird about it. I want to be a nice person but without it being in writing, never again. Sad times.
@@defan2105 Yeah, another very good point. No good deed goes unpunished. I often worry about how SB doesn't ever run into stuff like this. Hope he never has to worry about it.
Neighbours? The owner should be forced to take care of this by the local government! That's how it is in my state.
Oh, my! Just when I think it can’t get worse, you find one! Good hard work, Spencer. What a difference. You are amazing.
I've watched quite a few of your videos now, and this yard, to me, is the worst yet, after everything is factored in. The height and thickness of the grass, the turf covered concrete, collapsing fencing, tree growth, neglected old house, then to top it off there's LOGS underneath all that grass in the front yard! A crew of workers would have taken all day to do what you did solo. Hats off and mad RESPECT for you, Spencer.
Can't believe you did this job ALONE. Good work!
my guess is the contractor is billing the city but not doing the work.
Or the city stopped sending the contractor out. If the bill isn’t being paid by the homeowner, can’t they property be sold to pay for what is owing?
Spencer I came home from work today and said I hope either Spencer or Casey from CJ Mowing has a new video up because I need to watch them as you all make my day. You did it!! I am so sure the neighbor is happy too. It looks like he has been keeping the side close to his house cut. It will look good in a couple of weeks and no more driveway floodings. Thank you Spencer for what you do. God Bless.
