❤🔥Thanks for reviewing my WAD! Congrats on completing Ultra Violence! Ammo and health are scarce in that mode, but more manageable if you use the power fist and ripper as needed, and abuse Dogmeat. There is a BFG equivalent on the first level that requires the yellow keycard, and one in the Armory in the Final Boss room. It requires a code to enter. There is a clue next the the switch. The Armory has many other goodies that help.
Really nice work w this mod!
Although i havn’t actually played it i am most impressed by the level of detail and your very own additions to the gameplay.

I just wanted to let you know that I'm alive today thanks to your Mod Madness videos. Last year I was struggling with addiction and depression, which lead to thoughts of some very dark "solutions" to my problems.
One of the few things that kept me going was my desire to see what your next video was going to cover, and if the mod looked good, I'd have a free and new gaming experience to keep my suicidal thoughts from getting the better of me. I'll assume you aren't going to see this, but I wanted to try to let you know that what you do on your channels means a great deal to me, and I'm sure it does for a lot of other people, too.

@@MrLordNeptune Look, the fact that Jet was invented after the war is a relatively major plot point in Fallout 2.
Sure, it would be pretty easy to reconcile it - say that "Jet" is a slang for entire group of stimulant drugs, that the Brahmin dung Jet is just the latest of - something like that.
But nobody did that.

Interesting mod because in some point in 1994, the OG Fallout was supposed to be a DOOM clone type game but Tim Cain later changed to a Wasteland “succesor” with the GURPS type of gameplay (who became the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attribute system)
I can never get enough of that trench shotgun.

DRL is literally Doom. Of course it counts. There's also Doom RPG.
Hey Icarus! I remember your videos on the NUTS .wad's, Russian Overkill, and Guncaster from 2015! Watching your channel and checking up on the Caco Awards have been my main sources for epic Doom moddage over the past decade. I've burnt through many hours playing these mods that you've covered, so thanks for helping to keep the Doom flame alive! I'm sure I'll feel inspired to check out this Fallout Doom mod once I'm free from my wagie desk for the day (I really have to, because you can pet the dog). Great video. 👍

Funny you say that. One of many scrapped ideas! Unfortunately, I made the whole thing myself with no prior knowledge of DOOM WAD making, and I simply don't have time to work on the WAD much anymore. I had to call the map done for now.

It would be sick if someone could introduce the SPECIAL stats and VATS into a mod like this. Make it change the gameplay on every playthrough. I’d love that. This looks like a solid effort from someone’s first time making something though. They did a great job.

I wonder if any of the gore mods would be compatible. It's not fallout without someone's head exploding
I watched Martinoz, a brutal doomtuber, do a run with this and I think bolognese the other day and it worked fine it seemed like.
Any of the "Universal" blood mods probably work fine with this, since it doesn't edit enemies overmuch.
It's only appropriate for Doom Guy to bee line right for the Bloody Mess perk.

Well, speaking of turn-based Doom games, there's actually two: Doom RPG and Doom RPG II, both official titles.
The dog-petting animation looks weird, but I can see why they went with that instead, which is fair enough.

Huge missed opportunity to not include a Fat Man as the BFG of the mod, give you like 3 mini-nukes max to make it more impactful.

I really dig the level design, but it seems like its really begging for some better weapons and custom enemies. The current weapon set feels a little generic, and I can only imagine how sweet some of fallouts creatures would look from a first person 2.5d perspective

I'm looking for the Fallout part. And no it doesn't need to be FO3/4/76, but it does need to translate at least some CRPGness to doom.
Feels like a missed opportunity. Most of this doesn't take as much influence from Fallout as it perhaps should to justify its 'combining Doom and classic Fallout'.
It doesn't help that the weapon selection mostly does not feel like Fallout, with the true workhorse weapons that you use most often largely being generic rather than uniquely Fallout.
Disappointing. Gotta have to wait a few years till someone actually does something of interest with this concept. This is cool, but I do think it is conceptually misleading.

Looks pretty sloppy, poorly chosen textures, and not very Fallout-y at all. Ashes are far more Fallout-like than this.
