This was a fun, quick overview of how these distress oxides perform. I like how you started with embossed stamped images on different papers, and then experimented with the oxides over them. To then take these coffee themed panels and turn them into simple cards was brilliant. Thank you for sharing.
Yesterday I mistakenly bought to Oxides thinking they were inks! I thought I might have to return them but after watching this video I think I'm going to love them and end up buying more. :) This is the first video of yours I've ever watched but I've now subscribed. Love your voice tone and explanations. Thank you so much for posting this!
Thank's . . l really love the outside water oxide color cards best. . Love all the brightness from thm, and you just keep making anything and it's gorgeous . . Love them. 😯 😎 😎 😎
My distress oxides came today. I had this on while playing with them. 2 cards made, and I am inking a 12x18 sketch paper sheet that will be die cut into many cut fold and tuck dies. I am using brushes from rubber stamp tapestry with the oxides.
Husband is making coffee right now. Thanks for the very informative video. Learned a lot. But drats I wasn't planning on getting them. That was until I watched this. Good job.
I love the smoosh technique too Laurel and coffee! Thanks for sharing! I just bought the 12 pads and refills and am watching videos to get ideas. I actually got to see Tim demo at Michigan's Mega Meet yesterday, which was awesome! I'm saving your video. Looks like you had fun! :) Take care and STAY POSITIVE sister!
Great video. Michaels appears to carry 9 colors. As far as I have been able to tell, they don't have Spiced Marmalade, Walnut Stain, and Fossilized Amber.
Hi Laurel ~ You crack me up every time you tell us you're hiding in the closet. Oh boy, I can remember hiding from my kids on occasion too! I'm in love with this addition to Tim's Distress Ink collection!! A.W.E.S.O.M.E. sauce! Love the different techniques you shared and how much fun your cards all turned out to be. Watch Hedgehog Hollow's video of Tim at the recent Simon Says Stamp Create retreat. I love watching Tim, do anything, just sit there is ok w me, I like to watch him :-).
I had to laugh when you pointed out the "latte art" image. I never heard of latte art (I am so not a coffee drinker!). I thought that image was some sort of lollipop-type sucker! LOL Which made absolutely no sense with all the coffee imagery you used in your backgrounds. Then when you were talking about trying latte art, & referred to the stamp image, the light bulb went on! Love all your backgrounds & the cards you created. Looking forward to getting some of the Oxide inks myself sometime. Yep. Any day now.... Thanks so much for sharing about these inks, and for the giggles! :)
how beautiful, thank you so much for sharing ! And I had to laugh.... I also watch series when I craft (people think it's odd, thank god I'm not the only one, so NOT odd haha), and the good wife is an excellent idea ! ;-)

Thanks for an interesting video! Just not sure I like the dull/flat appearance of these inks. But I haven't seen them in person yet, so will reserve judgment! Really don't want to buy more inks...even if Tim Holtz made them!

Fun, funny, and informative! I love the Oxides, they're the bomb and so are you!
Very thorough review, I had to laugh though at the end since you forgot to show stamping with them. 😂 I can't wait to get some.
How could I forget to stamp with them. Sigh. LOL
I’m new to card making! What did you use to make the white embossed coffee images, so that it won’t blend with the oxide ink?
Those are heat embossed, so I stamped it, sprinkled white embossing powder over the top and heat set.

Yea, the finish is very different from other inks!
FYI, he is not releasing mini oxide inks. Aren't they fun?
