That transition of Paul's outfit after he drinks the poison as he enters the Southern temple is so powerful. One can see he has found his power and presence. Brilliant.
I love Dune. I have seen the first movie 48 times, I'm addicted to it. This movie has been monumental not just to me, but surely to the whole world of film. Even seeing how the costumes were made is fascinating to me. I can't wait for more content by this new Dune adaption. Thank you all for your work in making this come to life.
Jacqueline West's works in the costume and design of these two movies desperately makes me wish that I could experience the story in a more obsessively detailed way. These behind-the-scenes shot show so much color and texture and brilliant storytelling in the costumes and fabrics alone that may have been mere glancing shots in the story of Muad'Dib. I hope we get to see more behind the scene photographs, videos, and artwork of the army of costumes for this film. They really do feel like they exist in a far flung future that is both different yet the same to the existence we occupy now.
I think this is the way to do it---consistency, proper planning, and the details. Disney and other companies should really take notes here, because this is what world building and great storytelling is all about.
WB thanks for telling the stories of the people who work on Dune beyond the director and actors to make it such a memorable film. I look forward to more in the future.
This level of detail is only surpassed by the Lord of the rings. I really loved the machines and carriers they used to extract and then transport Jamis’ water.
I like the idea of the Baron's mobility aids being an actual aid for physical disability in this universe. I know in the book he uses them because he's lazy and obese. I think it's a much cooler concept for a sci-fi setting to accommodate for disability using tech. I also think it's a cooler interpretation in general, if the Baron's simply fat because he's physically disabled. The point being that technology exists to accommodate for disability without stigma- AND only the wealthy and powerful have access to it. The Baron hoards resources that could improve the lives of billions. He himself has the liberty of surviving disability to grow fat, but denies it to others. THAT'S what should characterise him as a villain.
@@barrykotek2257Messiah is his opportunity for sure. He can even make up for the fact that the cool Guild Navigator was not in either part of Dune movies. Lol
I've never understood Hollywood and it's formula, specially when chosing actresses! In the last few years, in everything and in everywhere, you'll have Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Anya Taylor Joy, ah and Margot Robbie. Wash rinse repeat over and over until thet'll find another few to replace them, when people, producers or directors will get tired. I understad ther're are more male actors available probably, so it'll be harder to rely on only a few, but I'm pretty sure there is also so many women who are as talented and as beautiful as the ones I mentioned, waiting for a chance to shine.
I've got a hot take on armor. Harkonnen and Sardaukar armors looked fantastic, but Atreides and Fremen armors were a miss imo. However, ALL costumes were incredible. From the visual standpoint those costumes are the canon in my mind
Wow! I couldn't understand anything she is talking about in the video. She speaks so softly that either the video was poorly edited, the mic is not working properly, or this is just for people with very sharp hearing.
All the costumes were amazing... except for the Still Suits. Bob Ringwood's Still Suits from Lynch's DUNE was far superior. Jacqueline West's Still Suits looked way too much like Batman from Nolan's movies.
genuinely deserves a clean sweep at the oscars
This better win the Oscar for best production design in addition to best costume design!
they better win all the Oscars, including Foreign language and Animation categories😂
Or else
@@pilote111 Foreign Language 🤣
And best picture
Special Effects, also
Whoever came up with the design of the picador head dress, deserves a pay raise.
ikr! it looked soo sick, fits so well with the harkonnen vibe
Nightmare fuel😱
Reminds me of something Guillermo del Toro would come up with.
Queppu. Hyperdrive, episode 2 2007. Lol
I love how Lady Jessica just gets increasingly more dripped out with every scene she appears in.
Jessica's looks were always 🤌
Did you see the video where she refused to where a mask? She is very demanding as an actor and I think her visions shines clear through Jessica.
Even the BTS videos of Dune are better made & radiates with passion compared to other movie released these days. Mad respect ✨
for real ✨ the transition at 0:22 is really creative.
I love that Javier is basically Stilgar in real life.
This movie just continues to be the best of the decade.
My favorite costuming was the pilot of the Harkonnen ornothopter that Rhaban was in. It just made me smile. It was like something out of an 90s anime.
It was strange but iconic I guess.
also reminds me of the suits/helms the snipers from ghost in the shell anime weared.
@gorobashiarena That's exactly where my head went too.
That transition of Paul's outfit after he drinks the poison as he enters the Southern temple is so powerful. One can see he has found his power and presence. Brilliant.
She created the perfect blend of sci-fi and period\cultural. Spectacular!!
This is so far the best movie I’ve seen in a long time. It was quite literally epic.
The artistry on display has been so stunningly beautiful
Dune is what we wished the Disney Star Wars is, unfortunately not. But we have Dune, one of the greatest films of all time
Dune was made to tell a great story. Disney Star Wars was made to sell merchandise.
A rare achievement where the costume created the world instead of the other way around respect 👏
Dune 2, Godzilla, and Furiosa have been released, with Twisters, Joker, and Juror still to come. Warner Bros is making my 2024 exciting.

This movie needs to win every Oscar imaginable. Even musical, cause why not.
i agree. even musical. the soundtrack is exotic and compliments the scenery
@artisticgamer777 Think about it, the arena scenes with Harkonnens chanting... best musical I've seen. And I hate musicals. No offense...
Lady Jessica's wardrobes >>>
And the crazy thing is she has a lot of competition. All the sets are amazing🤩🤩
Incredible. Best costume design I've seen in a long time
MOOREEEE. I want more dune stuff.
How many times have you watched this film, but you can’t stop watching it ❤
i would be the janitor if need be, to be part of one of his movies. Such an inspiration
It’d be crazy if, similar to Return of the King, Dune: Part 2 were to win most categories at the Oscars.

Seeing the costumes & how they are made really reminds me of LOTR
These are fantastic behind the scenes. They make me appreciate the movie even more.
Costumes in these movies are 100/10
Rabban's 'Governor dress' is very cool
Great costume design. I hope it wins the Oscar this time. Part 1 was robbed.
They should release a book!!! Just all about the costumes and the BTS
Best Costume Design 🔥🔥🔥

Genius team, Genius film.💧⚔🐀

The Matrix, Harry Potter, LOTR, Avatar, Dune.
all the classics
I entered into a universe 20,000 years from now, if only for a few hours. 😎👍
1:26 where was that outfit in the film?🤣 I didnt see it, probably didnt make it into the film, Love it tho
I think its what the fremen who controls the sandworm wears at 3:05

Again, one of the clips that should have been with the blu ray!
West got robbed of the Oscar the last time, I hope she and the crew earn it for this one!
Masterpiece
This is the Oscars for costumes version 2.0
I wish they made series of Dune with this cast instead of a couple of movies. Like they did with GOT
this is Denis' magnum opus, i will be surprised if he manages to beat this movie
Well, Messiah will be his opportunity

People tend to forget that everything has to be built to be absolutely silent on set! How much materials do you have to go through?
Feyd was great, he's exactly how he should act when i imagine him from the book. a Pretty boy whos extremely lethal in a fight.
that's pretty accurate yes
The modern Dune movies are being called the "new age Lord of the Rings".
Thoughts?
Well done, we tried, it’s a success
easy win for best costume design in Oscar 🙏

1:53 I want this foot jewelry!
Capolavoro assoluto
Why did they change the aesthetic of the Imperial Court?! The daft-punk-esque of the first one was PERFECT. The style from Part Two looks so boring.
I think they should just cancel the Oscars and give all the awards to Dune
The film industry is obsessed with their masks
There's nothing casual in the future. Everything is ceremony.
So how is the HBO show gonna follow this?

they are delicious

Glad they got rid of the power ranger armor in part 2 during the final assault
Pleeeaassee release it with the imax aspect ratio
I wished to watch an entire video solely dedicated to Lady Jessica’s wardrobe, so many head-turning looks.
This vid is better than what marvel puts out these days. The acting is better too.
Many thanks to EVERYONE.
We never saw Gedi prime in part one. Liessss

Austin Butler’s always trying so hard to sound cool. Sure wish he wasn’t in this movie.
