Great vid. That turkey came out really nice. I use wood and charcoal in my smoker so a little more difficult to maintain temp, but thats fun also. Give us time to enjoy the cook and to have some bourbon and beers while waiting. Glad you're happy with your new grill, it looks like a winner for sure.
Yeah I have the MB 800. I haven’t compared them side by side yet, but the gravity series in general is typically closer to a stick burner flavor than pellet grills
I run mesquite and charcoal pellets mixed. Along with a smoke tube so I can run 300+. I love a deep smoke flavor. I try to get that stick flavor. I’m trying to catch a Masterbuilt or chargrilled gravity on sale.
Since you asked in your video, yes, you technically are basting. Using drippings, marinades, or other liquids, to moisten your proteins is the definition of basting. You don’t have to brush it on to baste…”traditiona” turkey basters are those ridiculous rubber bulb squirters and have no brush on them. Beautiful turkey!
The brine the turkey comes in is very mild. The last turkey I salt brined got messy. You butter injected turkey came out just as good. I'm gonna try this next time.
Nice cook! You already know this, but if you take your turkey off around 149 and let it carry up to 151 internal temp in the breast, you'll have much juicier white meat. Holding above 150°F for about four minutes kills salmonella bacteria.

I’ve used your injection recipe for the past 2 years, awesome! I get to cook 3 turkeys again this year! Smoking one and frying two for the first time!
Nice! I was going to smoke-a-fry one this year but didn’t. Maybe I will for actual thanksgiving
Absolutely amazing turkey 🦃. Awesome job looks delicious 🔥🔥. Great share ,cheers 🍻🍻
Thanks for watching!
Wow! Looks amazing! Thank you for sharing!

Happy so far!
Perfection! Thanks for including the recipes👍😊
Thanks for watching!
Now that's a good looking bird! I love the spatchcock method, but I understand and appreciate the traditional methods. Great work!
I usually go spatchcock simply for the time savings 🤣
@ Same!
That looks incredible!
It was great!
Looks Perfect!
Looks soooooo good.
Thanks!
Love it! Do you use this same recipe when you spatchcock a turkey?
You definitely can! It’ll just cook faster
Do you think I can smoke 2 -12 lb turkeys at the same time in my Masterbilt 800 ?? I have watched your other video with the MB 800 at 325 degrees.
That turkey looks killer!
Thanks! It was great
What’s your opinion of the quality of smoke flavor with the Traeger ironwood and the older chimney style
Great video… You are thinking of making a whole pig, as I have been looking at how to do it but with your opinion I would be better off.
I’ve been around for a whole pig roast, but I’ve never done one
So I have a camp, chef, t smoke My question is, were you smoking that or were you using? It has a barbecue?
Don’t you have a Masterbuilt gravity? Which cooks better?

I’m going to do a trial run tomorrow. I’ve got 8 birds to do this year. I’m going to try to use a NEW blow dryer😂.
How come you are not using the gravity 980 anymore?
Since I started this channel I’ve had over 20 grills and smokers. For me it’s best to focus on the newer and more popular choices.
@AndersonsSmokeShow gotcha. Appreciate your content man!

Looking to get that cutting board, but the link in your description doesn't work. I'm getting an error whenever I click it.
I’ll fix it and send it over here in a bit
Looks great. I’ve always liked to bring the breast to 160F and the carryover will get to 165F in the few mins it rests.

I don’t like to suggest anything outside of FDA guidelines. Don’t need people coming after me lol
I’m sticking with 165 but I will pull it at 160 if thighs are at 180 or above. I rather inject a lot. Can’t stand slimy dark meat!
Do you think the brand of turkey makes a difference? Do you prefer one brand more than others?
I don’t notice any difference really… when it comes to turkeys, Im hunting for those $0.99lb deals. This one was a honeysuckle white
Thank you, I actually got 2 Honeysuckle white's this year. Gonna make this tomorrow as a trial run.
