Coaching is awesome. Did one with Tortellinii some years ago. Its was a blast. Highly recommended for everyone - lot of good guys out there offering this
Thanks for sharing your coaching session with Sergi! It's pretty incredible how fast they see things that we cannot see while attempting to gain speed. Honestly, I didn't notice your braking vs downshifting speed until he mentioned it. it's those subtle differences that can REALLY add up over the course of a lap. There are lil tenths everywhere on the track. Watching him cruise that low 43 was impressive. He reminds of Jarider -- they can both bullshit and still do amazing times. So since the coaching, noticed any improvement with more practice?
oh yeah its a skill as well yeah. to answer, YES i drive a bit faster now with the feeling that i can still drive a lot better then im doing. before i was just happy with my pace
One of your best videos, thanks. I think i have same two probs, trying to max corner entry speed but kick brake again before apex cos thinking going too fast. Classical example is last right on going to Spa ending chicane. And i also downshift lazy. Great couple tips others also, lot to think of. AccReplay is free motec soft, you can upload your race and look the faster drivers compared to you on that session. You can also download faster laps ghost cars, but to compare your laps motec u have have been on same session.
Great video, thanks! Do you see all of these overlays while in VR? I'm having such a hard time getting the overlays to work in SteamVR with the PSVR2 headset. I would love a video on how to get those to work and how it looks as you work on it.
Really good vid thank you. Don't know if you were nervous but at some points you were really struggling to get your words out! Erm...AHH..ér.mmmmm.aahhh..😂
When you are in a long corner and you fish for grip your searching for your wheel te be more heavy in the ffb, when it does, you found some extra front tire grip and this allows you to corner harder and be faster
For Watkins specifically you need to turn it down a bit. Many long high speed corners with high g forces means you reach peak force more often. But tbh I can't recall having the same issue on other tracks right now.
Should be a 'HP reverb G2' it's a WMR-Headset, unfortunately Windows decided to not support it anymore with the new Win11 update that's available right now...very sad because it's a real good HMD.
Thanks for this video, as someone who's been sim racing for about 5/6 months this video is really helpful and i can take a loads of things from it to try myself. I do have 1 question if anyone can help, wen i downshift in beaking it sometimes misses my first downshift, am i doing something wrong.
@SimracingArnout thank u for taking time to reply, yeah now thinking bout it, it does seem to happen when I first brake I downshift to quickly together on certain corners.
I have to say that some points which the coach gives as advice are misleading and are curing the symptom and not the root of the issue. Especially the stabilisation throttle on the entry is not what you want to do. I don't want to go into to much detail, but in my opinion you should always fix the root and understand the issue (in this case the oversteer you get) in the first place.
Intresting, i found after this advice, I found a great improvement in mid corner, hitting the trottle early to stabilize the car, finding additional rotation on the exit, and floor it earlier, and getting a better exit as a result. I am fully aware of what creates oversteer on entry as my inputs aren't always flawless. Maybe when I progress I need to hear different advice.. who knows
@@SimracingArnout also the reason you have lost the car in T1, was the result of not beeing able to open up the steering as you didnt maximise the track on the exit and tried to drive a tighter line, which is not working with that much steering lock, throttle during corner entry is sth. you will never never see on esports level (besides maybe the porsche in some scenarios)
Stumbled uppon the comment and had to reply as I know you're esports driver and coach yourself. Yes, ideally you go from brake on entry, coast and then throttle out of corners, but I found that having some overlap between brake and throttle works in this simulator and lots of very fast drivers do it (including some esports drivers). Might be the case that to actually win esports races it's not optimal, but it's an effective way to get to 0.5s off top alien pace or even closer and keep the car under control. Also shifting the grip from front to rear axle smoothly by having first a bit of throttle makes it easier to prevent exit oversteer.
@@sergisebas for beginners/intermediates it can even amplify there issue during corner exit, as you lock the diff with the throttle during corner entry and stop the rotation. Which means you car tends to understeer, if they are eager on the throttle application during corner exit they will spin even easier out

yeah i really liked this.. i tried to cut off this video to 10 minutes but this made it way more real
Enjoyed joining you on your live stream earlier today from the other side of the world. Great to watch live sim racing.😂

This is a great video for any skill level.
Good stuff as always Mr. Arnout! Thanks👍

Great video mate
Thank you
Thx for posting this Arnout.I recently purchased your Lambo Evo2 setup pack...well worth the money. cheers.

Haha thats because of almost no cuts in the video
What are you looking for when fish for grip?
When you are in a long corner and you fish for grip your searching for your wheel te be more heavy in the ffb, when it does, you found some extra front tire grip and this allows you to corner harder and be faster
What tyre grip plugin are u using?
To get the same overlays as me

@@FlavioCadamuro it can help you in the early early fase when you do racing but turn it of as fast as you can
@@SimracingArnout ah thank you. Thank you for posting this video, very interesting.
5:05 - Is the feedback not the same tough every map? 😲
Some corners can be really heavy on you ffb, if then your ffb hits 100% you need to bring it down in game
@@SimracingArnout Has anyone created a list for what the FFB should be on each track? :O
@@crescentsheath1190 I don't think making a list would be viable because it depends so much on your wheelbase

does agressive downshifts hurt the engine?
no there is a blow up prefention i guess

If you mis the downshift you need to time it better, if you do it to soon the car protects itself

i have changed steer lock from 1200 to 0 and i got a massive 180 degrees deadzone hahahah , im guessing this doesnt apply to old logitech29 :)
Hmm i dont know how it works with that one
