TIP! ADVICE! I freaked out after two weeks because the dry/grainy feeling didn’t go away. I thought I made a huge mistake. Don’t worry!! It goes away.

I had PRK and it was the best worst thing I ever did. For some reason when they did mine I felt like I was drowning because of the liquid on my 👀🤷♀️ and I started to panic. It only took 2 minutes an eye and I didn't have to all that stuff in recovery. But it took about 3 weeks before I could drive and go back to work. But now I'm very happy to see with out glasses I was very very blind with out them. Good luck wishing you a fast and easy recovery

I don't think I could handle that.. I have a thing with people touching my eyes lol doing eye exams freak me out, so you are brave, I would love to get it done as ive been wearing glasses since I was 9 years old and im 31 now lol

I had Lasik 2 months ago and honestly I think it’s way more safer than PRK. I didn’t have to go through or deal with 99% of the things that you are having to. It is usually just the first 24 hrs were I just needed to be super careful and all I did was sleep which helped a lot And the next day I was able to see 90% clear and go on with my life. Plus now I see 20/10 in each eye which is awesome! Kinda feel like the Dr might have tricked you into getting the more expensive procedure especially since PRK is for people who may have a riskier surgery due to thin corneas etc. But I’m glad you got something done! No more glasses for a long time! It’s seriously such an investment and a blessing. I hope you have a fast and easy healing period! Take care!

I had a slight concussion and could not focus on screens and music made my head hurt. I had never listened to an audio book so I tried it and that was enjoyable. I listened to Betty White's "If You Ask Me." Wishes for a great recovery. Love you. ❤️

Watching this I'm realizing that the morning before her surgery, all the anxiety & nervousness she was feeling...is how I feel 24/7!!! 😅 it made me so sad for her bc I know she rarely ever feels that way. I guess I should say feels that way enough for us to notice. Was very nice to see "herself" almost instantly come back after it was all over.

The way you kept your eyes closed after the surgery took me back to mine haha it just hurt I simply didin't want my eyes open. Also when I got home I just went to bed and slept from 6pm to 10am the next day so it DID make me sleepy. They also had given me such high doses of anxiety meds that it probably helped tbh 😂

Rachel, lasik is totally safe. You just tortured yourself lol 😂 I'm glad you're going to be able to see again. I got lasik and it's AMAZING to not have to wear contacts and to wake up being able to see. Life changing haha

Rachel, sending you love and healing from another Rachel who got vision correction surgery 💖I had ICL done which is basically a permanent contact lens installed in my eyeball. You did a great job getting through your surgery! They had to give me ketamine (horse tranquilizer) because I got on the operating table and started shaking so bad because I was having a massive panic attack. I had already taken the optional valium they give you when you arrive, but it did nothing for me. But it is soooo worth it!!!! I am so grateful every day that I can just see now, no glasses or contacts. I know the recovery is tough, but I'm so happy for you because this surgery will honestly improve your life so much 💕

Yes i did it from 3 years it is so annoying but it is worth it i see perfect now and it's amazing
This was so interesting to see. I'm Australian and had PRK. my experience was they drug you up hardcore before and after the surgery. The surgery took about 1 minute per eye but I was so out of it. I had terrible vision for 1 month afterwards :( but was so drugged for the first 2 weeks anyway so I slept most of the time.
My vision healed a lot slower than most people, and I was miserable for that month.
But it's been years now and I couldn't be happier, wish I got it done years earlier!

Also during our surgery we are so drugged we don't feel them touching our eyes at all. I wasn't in any pain in recovery or anything! I literally didn't even know when the lasers were on my eye or anything
I just got lasik a few months ago and it’s the best thing I’ve done. The recovery process is gradual, but there was very little discomfort. Definitely stock up on eye drops and use them as often as you need for the next several weeks! I went from not being able to see my phone in front of my face without glasses to be able to see complete trees down the street. Incredible!

I had prk done about 6 years ago. Not sure if things changed that much or different places do things different. I was given Valium to take before arriving. No bandage contacts and not so many restrictions. I could see great for the first couple days no issues. I even drove myself home from my follow up. Then when they started healing over things went blurry and took a while to be able to see well again. I was getting a bit nervous about that part taking longer than expected but I also have cml so my immune system sucks. But all good and no regrets now. It will fly by and you will love not having contacts and glasses.
Audio books probably good idea cause movies are so tempting to watch and look screen
Hope the recovery goes fast and the outcome is 110%. I’ve had 3 cornea transplants sadly that have failed but the contact lens bandaids are such a blessing and they make the eye heal so much quicker. Hi 👋 I know how u feel, I also had 4 eye surgery's on just my one eye in the day clinic last year during covid with 4 covid tests. But I was under anastasia ever time. Was not at all something I enjoyed and finally done with all of it and now waiting for my new glasses. It's amazing that you are sharing your eye surgery and your journeys🌟

Tbh, having watched A Clockwork Orange as a kid (my patents were ENTIRELY too young to have started having kids); the metal eyeball opener is legit the only thing stopping me from getting Lasik or anything similar! Lol

I had my eye surgery in November it was so different to lasek I had lasik it was easy to watch things after wards. Congratulations Rachel ❤🎉

I would have simply 🌠 had a panic attack 🌠 I cannot with eye ball things and things in your eye ball. This surgery is never in the cards for me. I've never f&cked with contacts lol

I'm so glad it went well. My mum had hers done last year and one of her eyes just randomly spasmed while the laser was on it and now her pupil is out of shape and can't move due to scar tissue, she has awful problems still with light sensitivity and wears prescription glasses and sunglasses all the time. It has scared me too much to get mine done.

I cried after my LASIK procedure...
My mum was so concerned but it was the suction part that weirded me out too....
Cuz they talk you through the whole thing so when things went blurry, I knew they had CUT MY EYE OPEN so my stomach did a flip flop.
Procedure is quick but it still sucks.....
I just did PRK in December! So worth it!!!!
As someone who gets a clogged tear duct at least one a month, to every couple months it is the worse to wake up in the morning my eyes are always stuck closed or constantly dry
