- The first sword appeared during the Bronze Age. It was made of copper and was uncovered at the Harappan sites in present-day Pakistan. By the Middle Ages iron and steel swords were being mass produced and used in battle. Soldiers were trained in swordsmanship and prepared for combat. It was before the era of guns and high powered artillery and face to face fighting was the norm. During this time in history, all of the royal generals, kings, and emperors owned personal swords. These weapons were manufactured by the greatest sword makers of the time. Many historical manuscripts document events surrounding significant swords. This article will be examining ten world famous swords that still survive today. Mythological and legendary swords will not be listed.

I'm not Muslim but I think Zulfiqar is a beautiful sword to consider. This is the first time I've heard of it. Very unique with the two-pronged look, and probably incredibly deadly in battle. Imagine how useful having two prongs would have been, how it could have been used for stabbing, spearing, and chopping as opposed to a normal scimitar used mainly for chopping. Must have been terrifying to see coming at you!
The seven-branched sword is also beautiful, and an important artifact of Asian history. I've seen it referenced in Okami, but didn't know it was originally Korean. I thought it was Japanese.

It is also inscribed that when *iMam Ali* (a.s.) was slaying the enemies in the battle of Badr, Khandaq and Ahud, these lines were being chanted by angels in heaven

It has been verified that after the Martyrdom of iMam Ali (a.s.), the *Thul'Fiqar* was inherited by *iMam Hassan* (a.s.), the older son of iMam Ali (a.s.) and he passed on it to *iMam Hussain* (a.s.) after his Martyrdom and in Karbala, *iMam Hussain* fought with it.
*WHERE IS IT NOW*? _Few believe that after _*_iMam Hussain_*_, it was passed on to his sons and now _*_iMam Mehdi_*_ (may Allah hasten his return) may have it, or according to some, it was returned back to _*_Allah_*_. God knows best._

According to the leader of the archeological team responsible for the excavation, it was discovered in a tomb, in a near air-tight wooden box next to a skeleton. The team was stunned when the perfectly preserved bronze sword with scabbard was removed from the box. When it was unsheathed, the blade was revealed to be untarnished despite being buried in damp conditions for two millennia. A test conducted by the archaeologists showed that the blade could easily cut a stack of twenty pieces of paper. it's the strongest sword of all time. he was held by the Islamic leader Ali . Ali was the cousin and the son in law of the Prophet Mohammad . he ruled the Middle East from Iran to the end of Saudi Arabia and Philistine ( Isreal for the English people) over the Islamic caliphate from 656 to 661. History books wrote that the Prophet Mohammad has fall down on his face in battle of O-hod and broke some of his tooth as he fall down. Ali heard the news of his cousin and he broke his sword with his hands of anger and rage then he rushed to Prophet Mohammad and got him back up to his feet. However the sky opened up and everyone in battle heard the voice of the Angle Gabriel saying "No man but Ali and No sword but Zulfiqar" . everyone was shocked and saw the sword floating down from the sky to the battlefield and some tried to take the sword but no one could pull it up cause of it's heavy weight. Ali was the only man who could hold such a weight cause of the powers and miracles he got from god.
