*** Update April 2023 *** After a year or so of very satisfying use I decided to let someone else take ownership of this bike. I loved it but had to rationalise my fleet 🙃
SKS thermoplastic mudguards are the gear. Then get to Topflaps for a mud flap so you can do club/group rides without getting banned for spraying the rider behind you. They do infinite custom options for that zing of colour.
@@MatthewLister .hi mathew, Thanks for reply..really Great vid...can you fond me a similar steel frame in UK, small size 52...l intend a first time build and this frame is exactly what l had in mind...l cannot find a used bike of this kind in lreland..(mostly too large/expensive) l would consider driving from dublin to collect if you can find thd right frame for me..any steel frame not too old- Many thanks Ricky
Hi..many thanks for your reply..l just purchased nice old dawes tanami polished aluminium bike in reasonable nick..frame is perfect for a gravel build. Size is 54..very hard to find decent project used bike frames in size 52....but l think l make can something decent out of it.. R
Brill bike own one with 30c tires and mudguards cycling UK-PL in 2018, brakes are shit swap for bb7 much better ,spray some wd40 in to holes in the frame to avoid rust inside.
Really useful info, thanks! I have been thinking about the brakes - feel a bit stodgy. I may re do the cables but tbh bb7’s is a great shout and I may well make this switch 👍

That ramblers joke was pretty funny. Good video.

Thanks for the intel; just what I need. I have to crack on asap, winter is coming 😶🌫️
Will it take bags..
Definitely robust enough but only has mudguard eyes in so far as mounting points go.

Very nice. Will she receive a name?
Hadn’t thought of that tbh but not a bad shout, given the small fleet I’ve now accumulated 😬
