After living in Minneapolis for over twenty years we decided to leave. Honestly, the major reason was unfriendly people. I have done things like shoveled my neighbors' sidewalks and driveways and never received a "Thank you". I had a heart attack during the Covid pandemic and wasn't able to help my neighbors. I had the resident on the south side of my house ask me why I didn't shovel his sidewalk and driveway. When I told him that I had a heart attack he said, "Oh we saw the ambulance in front of your house." Honestly my wife felt 100% alone and with no support. Despite Jason's claim that friendly residents abound we never met any.
Don’t move to Minneapolis high crime, high taxes, bit too flat not much for hills, not many mom and pop stores, too many big box stores, so spread out, road construction 🚧 is nuts, and everything seems same and bland, traffic is bad. Minneapolis isn’t all that great like it used to be 30 to 40+ years ago. 😢
This is the most ridiculous “Why NOT to do” video I’ve ever seen! I think it was written by the same person that taught us how to answer the “What is your WORST quality” question in an interview. “My worst quality is that I am too friendly.” 🙄 Be realistic when making these videos please! Seasons: The cold is oppressive. The summer heat is HEAVY with humidity. Bugs: Pros: nothing very nasty. Cons: If you get outside of the 494/694 loop, the mosquitoes are fierce. When the Box Elder bugs hatch, they COVER the side of every south facing surface the sun hits, including your front door - which means they get in the house. The Asian beetle hatch is similar. Traffic: Overall, it is reasonably decent compared to other larger cities. However, there are areas of town that do suck for traffic, ESPECIALLY in road construction season - which lasts from first thaw after winter until ground freeze the next winter. Speaking of roads, pot holes are the worst they’ve ever been. Taxes are extremely high. Violence and stolen cars downtown is terrible. Etc… All I’m asking for is to stop sugar coating in this type of video.
