His death touched me ...there was dramatic magic about him....the way he became one with his characters...his stunning voice...his movement...the energy that came off of him in every performance....It is still hard for me to grasp he will never share his gift with us again...I miss him....actually the only actress or actor I have ever felt this way about...His beloved partner must miss him every single day
He could have read the phonebook to me and I would have been enchanted. What I wouldn't give to have gotten a smile and a wry comment from him. Alas, I didn't discover him until my early 40s --So many years of missing out on such a fine actor.
I've liked Alan Rickman since 2001, when I first saw him in Harry Potter! He played well in all the Harry Potter films, although he played his bad roles, but he still loved his beloved Lily Potter! And I think he promised her that he would always be there for her son and help him in difficult times! I don't know specifically if he told her that or not, but I think he still won't let Harry Potter die at the end of the movie as soon as he defeats Lord Voldemort! I think and feel that he is on his guard, and not on Voldemort's guard! I really respect and love this actor! He will forever remain in my heart and in my memory! I will remember him as a good actor!
I don't think Snape is a bad role in Harry Potter. Because he was a double spy and the truth is, he's a helper for Harry, so I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. In some ways, you might think it's bad, but it wasn't a bad role.

The video has made the tears flow. My crush on Alan Rickman goes back 30 years this year. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves...I watched for Christian Slater and fell head over heals at 14 for the Sheriff. As of this year I have watched that movie 89 times...every weekend for a year straight from 14-15 I watched that movie and then I have every year since. Between that and Sense and Sensibility my heart will forever have a missing piece and by Grabthar's Hammer it will be for Always.

I never knew he was the horrible Sheriff of Nottingham in the old Robin Hood film. But now I know, I realized he acted that villainous role pretty well. Just as he acted the good character roles and the half good-bad role of Severus Snape in the Harry Potter film franchise. He was truly a phenomenal actor.
He is a man who is completely confident in himself and has utter certainty of who he is. His gentle masculinity which is subtle and slowly envelopes you is what makes him all the more appealing.

Then eleven months later, 25 December Christmas 2016, the incredibly talented and quietly altruistic, George Michael, followed. And 20 yrs ago, November 2002, I lost my wonderful and amazing father aged 65yrs. 😥 So, make each day count. Because we never know when it's our last. 💔
Some wonderful tributes here to this remarkable beautiful man, so irreplaceable and so very, very special. He had a unique magnetism on stage, and drew everyone who saw him into his psyche and his universe without any effort whatsoever. He took the breath away in Les Liasons Dangereuses, and even in a very weird Japanese play called Tango At the Edge Of Winter (if I remember rightly) he took to the empty stage all alone and just danced. The entire theatre stopped breathing while he did so. Remarkable as an actor and as a human being, and any admirers of his work need to read the posthumously published snatches of autobiography from his diaries, Madly, Deeply.
