    I love them all but my favorite is the one with the stone and wood piece. I love anything with birds! 😍

      I just happen to be on my computer right now Robin...that explains my quick replies! I picked that stone and piece of driftwood off the beach, came home and made that piece right away...I was inspired! That happens sometimes when I come home with something to work with...I do it right away while the excitiment is still there. I was also on a hummingbird streak...I love those little guys...and anything with birds too.

      Denise Cerro What a great find! Ive made a few canvases with bark and twigs from my yard that turned out pretty neat. - I love hummingbirds, as they remind me of my husband. They are his favorite. He just bought a new hummingbird feeder today for them. They get a new one every spring. Lol!

      I seem to always have my head down walking on the beach, looking for treasures. Sometimes I miss the beautiful views 😐...but I always come home with something fun to work with. 😎

    I love these. Napkin images are so pretty and your placement is perfect. I also like the added 3D elements. Very inspirational Denise. : )

      Napkins are my favorite papers to collage with, because they are so transparent. I found alot of differnt patterns on Amazon and have quite a stock of them. So happy you feel inspired Ina!

    Very lovely!! So, did you just glue the base papers on and no wax overtop only the gel medium overtop? Is that correct? Thank you for sharing. God bless.

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  ปีที่แล้ว

      So sorry I missed your comment Hedie! There is no wax…it is a faux encaustic so is meant to look like a wax finish. So only the matte medium goes on top.👌🏻

    hi denise.great video. have you used Durland's wax and if so, how does that compare with the heavy gel medium as an encaustic-look option?

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Sue...sorry for the late reply...I've been ignoring my studio for a few days! Yes I have used Dorlands and Gamblin cold wax...though you do need build up the layers. I often use cold wax as a sealer on my artwork...especially love it on cyanotypes...it gives such a nice lustrous finish. Thanks for watching Sue!🌷

      thank you for the reply. If I use several layers of the Durland, will it give the same effect as the Ostic wax? The wax itself definitely has a thicker and creamier quality.

    I love this style of collage and using acrylic mediums is so much easier than working with wax. It's a win, win...

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree Mary. I have all the encaustic supplies and equipment, though have to pull it out each time to use it. Gel medium is so much easier, quicker and safer...and I can use it at a moments notice when the mood strikes! Thanks for watching and chiming in!

      I'd absolutely love to see you do a video of these collage pieces with the napkins, tissue paper, paints, etc. I'm beyond interested in your style and the materials you use. I love your work, Denise! Please keep posting....

    What glue did you use to attach driftwood and stone? Thanks.

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lynn...I use E6000 to glue heavier pieces. You can get it at Michaels, Home Depot or most hardware stores. It works great and bonds larger 3 dimensional pieces really well. Thanks for looking in and good luck!

      Denise Cerro Thank you for sharing...I love your work and appreciate how you narrate your “thinking about decisions” as you create each piece. That’s very interesting and helpful for me. 👍🏻

      @@camp-grandma Thanks so much Lynn...I do have fun making them...as a matter of fact have to get on it and make a new one this week.
      I think I may do adding paper into your art...huummm.. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Denise, stunning, stunning work!!! I wanted to ask you about the Heavy Gel Matte Medium, is it better to use this one as opposed to Soft gel matte? Seems different artists use different things hahahahaha, this will be my first time trying and im excited, I really want it to turn out okay lol!!

    • @cerropaint
      @cerropaint  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Patricia... I personally like the heavy gel medium as it has more body to it and I can get a heavier coat from it, and of course the matte finish is more like the wax encaustic. The finished piece with the heavy gel is more like wax encaustic...but everyone does have their preference!👩🏻‍🎨🧡
