      With all due respect Chris, Police don't stop crimes, rarely if ever in their lives do on duty police officers stop a crime that hasn't happened. Also 911 isn't connected to the LAPD network. So,, no hacking the police wouldn't shut down 911.
      Listen to how many times he mentions "property damage" and monetary damage. That is the number one priority of police. "Protect and serve" is an empty slogan. Unfortunately, you and your life/safety is not their number one priority. It doesn't even make the top 5. Wish it was different but it's not.

    This continuity of Spider-Man is kind of interesting, as Spidey works extremely closely with the police in these games (to the point of actively coming along for their operations) and has effectively been deputized in all but name. Superhero stuff.

      That's because he's been doing this for 8 years. He hasn't killed anyone although, with his strength, he should have, and he's always helped the police. I think that... Given he's been doing it long enough, and it's already WELL known he has good intent, Spidey could be tolerated. After several attempts at his arrest.

    • @viktorthevictor6240
      @viktorthevictor6240 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@Derekmilewski
      Here's my take:
      In one of the backpacks you pick up in the city you find Yuri's card. Peter states that she would get fired if they find out she's directly working with him.
      As for Peter himself, there's not much they can do. Two problems:
      1. They don't know who he is and it's more or less futile to try and arrest him, because of his powers. An attempt to do so would take a lot of resources for special equipment.
      2. Spider-Man isn't the only super-powered individual roaming the city- there are heaps of super villains out and about that are causing more damage than Spidey, and they're already a strain on their resources. So incarcerating Spider-Man would not only waste precious time and money, it would eliminate one of their biggest allies against the super threats.
      Spider-Man is by all means a criminal, there's no doubt about that. It's just that he finds himself in situations where he isn't the priority target (except for when he runs into the Sable agents, which was a really cool aspect of the game). It's simply not worth going after him. Keep this up for 8 years, and the police are unofficially working with him.

    • @Derekmilewski
      @Derekmilewski 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@viktorthevictor6240 it’s more or less the police can’t get outside help from someone who’s like Spider-Man because he’s a vigilante in but most cops really don’t care because I know Spider-Man can help that’s why in the one DLC I forget which one I think the second I can be wrong that Spider-Man was working with the police to get The guy with the metal head if it was completely not allowed they wouldn’t even try to work within

      He honestly does. If this was real life, I'd be on his side. Depending on the version of Jameson anyway. One of the biggest problems with the current police force is the lack of accountability. Imagine if we had real life masked superheroes out there fighting crime answering to no one. Things would be WAY worse.

It has been confirmed that he has been involved in a tragedy, wether in his line of duty or his family that is unknown. All we know is that it’s bad. Check out his channel, show him our support and send your prayers. ❤️

  • @SSVDINightmare_Studios
    @SSVDINightmare_Studios 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    My question is that even though Spider-Man is a vigilante AND breaking the law, could certain charges be dropped if it could be classified as self defense? Because as far as I know (at least where I’m from) if you or others around you are in imminent danger, you are allowed to use force to defend yourself or others (even though it’s advised against). Yeah there is a line, but if done quickly with no serious injuries, could the battery/assault charges be dropped 🤔
    (I hope I’m not the only one who thinks this)

    • @davidm6329
      @davidm6329 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      There's a provision in many self defense laws to account for people who intentionally put themselves in harm's way, like a vigilante.
      Though, to be honest, laws don't actually matter. Many people like to pretend that law is a science, and that we can expect reliably repeatable outcomes from legal institutions.
      If a cop has it out for you, and he's friendly with the judge, you don't have to have committed a crime to be up shit creek. Likewise, if you committed a crime but the judge and/or jury like you, you might get off scot free.
      It's both a benefit and a detriment to the legal system. Flexibility to account for someone who does something wrong for the right reason is a good thing. But that same flexibility means interpretation can often mean more than what is actually written down where the law is concerned.

    That was so interesting, because it's things someone who've never been trained as an officer don't think about - and EVEN LESS while playing a video game. In a game, citizens are just standards NPC but putting things into perspective we realize in real life we would be those NPC and maybe Jameson is KIND OF right.
    If Spider-Man was real and was picking up fights in the middle of the city, even if his intentions were good there would be a LOOT of damage and a LOT of hurt people.

  • @InnocuousRemark

    It is not true that police are responsible for damages done during the pursuit or apprehension of a suspect, unless there is a state law to that effect. Qualified immunity has protected police time and again throughout the country. Recently, police demolished a home a suspect was hiding in. Insurance did not pay in full and the police were immune to any repercussions. Easy to look up, it happened in Kalamazoo, MI.
