I use a 5211 for drum overheads. It's the perfect pre for the job. Anything I want clean and detailed. Silk is also a great tool for mixing. I use it for all backup vox and sometimes main vox if I want it to be super clean and delicate.

Hey Archie, I asked on another video a couple of months ago but I have to ask again, what is the deal with the UA Bock microphones? They were supposed to be out in the fall of 2022 but still aren't out and no one has gotten sample mics to review. Do you know what the deal is?
I'm unsure with that. I do know there are tons of request and the building of the microphones is in full speed ahead. I wish I had more information.

Yes, totally. The conversion and I/O for professionals will always keep higher end audio interfaces relevant. Well unless something new comes out that can do better than what's currently on the market, lol. I hope this helps.
What kind of mixer is that on your desk?
I was testing the Mackie Onyx 24 for a couple of months. They are good for extra inputs in your home studio. Now I'm back to work with a multiple Avid S1s setup on my desk.

What's up? Unfortunately, I've stepped out of the mixing world at the moment.
Why not buy a 1073 if looking for that sound instead of a 5211 🤔 those are not even from the same company actually
Honestly, I was looking for the 1073 at the moment of purchasing my 5211. But I decided to go with the 5211 because it had a modern twist to it without the input transformer. Plus, it's a Rupert Neve design. I have a video coming up addressing my decision with a circuitry review breakdown.

@@archiebeatz i have it, and it sounds very smooth but at the same time it sounds dead and unalive on anything I record through it, I have other preamps and this only happens with it, I honestly think it’s because of the transformerless circuit, so to me it being transformerless is a downside. but who knows, maybe im crazy.
I have the 610 too, and this one can sound unpleasant to the ears with unharmonic distortion with some configurations, I find it sounding better with clean gain settings
@@archiebeatz I have a 1073DPA, an Avalon M5 and an A-Designs Pacifica to pair with my U87ai - for RnB, the Pacifica normally wins the shoot out - highly recommended, try it if you haven't yet: it features a clean top end AND this nice transformer boldness in the mids.
