I just bought a Bronica SQ from Japan. I've run 2 full rolls and 4 in on the third. I've dropped to 2 rolls off and waiting to see the results. I find that Bronica to be a gorgeous camera, and quite easy to shoot. Gonna be my go to I think.
Dude; lerrrrrv the t-shirt😂🤣😂. My ZB SQ 6x6 arrives Tuesday .. can’t w8. Always wanted 6x6. Had Rolleiflex TLRs & a beaut Kowa SLR MF .. but too old & difficult 2 “kit out”. Am betting if I find later A, Ai, Am or much later SQ-B, am hoping I can reuse lenses & accessories. My 1st priority 2 find waist-level finder & winder crank .. then get a CLA done. Did I say I can’t w8? Fraction the price of H’blad. Don’t are 4 the antique chrome trim/Matt black box fine by me. Phone’s my light meter .. 4 now.
I had a Bronica EC with the 75mm 2.4 Zenzanon and a 50mm Nikkor f4 wide angle lens. I always wanted a Rolleiflex 6000 series with the 90mm 2.8 Schneider macro lens.
I liked your video, very informative but biased towards the Hasselblad, you pointed out all the good things about the Hasselblad and all the bad things about the Bronica but still very informative.
Have one of Bronica ETR cameras, with three lenses. While I have not used mine lately, I do not think I will part with it anytime soon, because the quality of the images are so good. I heard that there is a digital back that may work on it, perhaps I will get one if the price comes down on them enough. Still enjoy once I a while running film through it, brings me back to the basics, and the images are worth the effort.
Anyone have more info on the original zenza bronica z? Never seen anyone review one. Curious to know more about the original. How many models made, etc.
Nice job. On the 80s my photographer instructor was nothing but the Hassel but when I did start shootings with the Mamiya Rb67 proS. I still have it even know 2019
Denis Gagnon thanks for asking. I developed color using the Unicolor c41 kit from the film photography project store. Black and white I have several. For Kodak tmax 400 I use D76. Ilford fp4 and hp5 I use Rodinal either 35:1 or 100:1 for stand development. I use tmax developer for Kodak p3200 and I keep hc110 on hand for other films or if I get something strange.
briliant video, am a 500 EL/M owner myself and it is brilliant… I think my favourite Hasselblad user to date is the late grate Lennart Nilsson. Anyway again cool video!
Bronica had purely mechanical cameras with clunking shutters and chrome finish as well, so it's really not as simple as "... so that's Hasselblads and Bronicas". And how do the cameras compare in image quality?
The Hasselblad system is certainly one of the most diverse collection of bodies and accessories ever made. The Zeiss lenses for them are the best. However, its purchase now is only as used, and that's a problem. First, their high cost new made them almost a pro purchase only, and they are used to death. Second, they are more prone to failures and maintenance than the competition, just a cost of doing business for a pro but not so much for the casual users now. Third, as noted, Used Hasselblad stuff is still hugely overpriced. If you require that Zeiss glass, plunge for a Rollei SL66. Or buy the Bronica in 645, 6x6 or 6x7 models. Or go for my favorite, the Pentax 67.
Randall Stewart all film cameras are used as no new ones are manufactured. I have found Hasselblads to be very dependable and one of the still serviceable ones out there. Parts are readily available and Hasselblad still performs service in house. I also love my Bronica but Ziess glsss rules supreme.
@@unsungphotographer3412 Not quite true to say no new film cameras are still being made. Nikon still make the F6 and Leica still make the MP. There are also various brands of large format cameras still being made new. For medium format Fuji still make the GF670 rangefinder, and then of course there are the toy cameras like Holga and Polaroid/Instax stuff. I agree with you re: Zeiss glass though. The 100mm Planar in particular is amazing.
Unsung Photographer I really think Nikon is still making the F6. If you go on Adorama or B&H you can still buy one new. If they did actually stop producing them, it would have to have been recently. But I doubt that because I’m sure one of the photography sites/blogs would make some type of farewell or appreciation type post. Then, there’s new old stock if they did cease production

Love my Bronica!

You probably didn't have it, but you should have compared a S2A with the Hasselblad. It is completely mechanical too.
John Irby your correct.

Still have my SQA/m and that shiny aluminum tripod in the thumbnail. I use a Bogen/Manfrotto tripod more often though.
"yay ... Hi boys and girls." Fine, I'll watch the rest of all your videos.

John Cantrell wonderful camera. Enjoy! The dig backs are still out of reach for most folks.
William Kearns yea, that’s true. But some day perhaps......

SHTF Van never had another Broncos. Sorry.

What film developer are you currently using for black and white?

Thilo Nagano good point. There are many models of both cameras this video covers an overview of the Bronica SQA and the Hasselblad 500 cm
if you could put the filmback of or on without the darkslide in, there is something wrong with your filmback.
Which camera
@@unsungphotographer3412 sorry, I mean the Hasselblad filmback
@@blende5.693 I believe you are correct.
