Hey fella!! Just want to say thank you for this video!! I've been subbed a while but work kind of gets in the way of watching!! However I've being signed off sick for a couple of weeks, so I've found time to enjoy a few more of your videos and this video was exactly what I needed to see! A Shortcut for going to the part out page is an awesome idea! I just set one up as a service menu item so I can highlight and right click a set number from anywhere. Thanks!
Glad you like the idea. Having it as a shortcut means I can have it on my iPhone when I'm out in the wild away form my Mac, but I can also have it on my Streamdeck for easy access. Plus I have a bunch more shortcuts for similar things.

So a few notes on using lego boxes for shipping. Here in the US we need to ship in boxes rated for 32lb/ft boxes. Why, so they dont get crushed, and if you dont the mail can reject damage claim. Second if you dont turn the box inside out the customer thinks you shipped them the wrong item. I find the flip top lego boxes easy to turn inside out
Thanks for the comment. I actually ended up destroying the boxes as I stuck with my policy of only sending out in new (stronger) boxes and padded envelopes.

Okay, Brick Owl order placed in light of the Bricklink situation (always good to have redundancies built into selling), hope the Store inventory is secure and Lego IT sort out the problems in short order.
The tidiness never lasts :) though at least I finally have my guitars on the wall as of today. Wall-E must just be hiding as he's not moved on yet unfortunatley. How is his new album, worth a listen? Thankfully I had a backup of my store from 5pm Friday so I'm good on that front. We just need them to sort the platform out and re-open - Many thanks for finding me out on Brick Owl and ordering, it's a big help with the main source of income gone temporarily.
I like the new album, somewhere between "classic" and his "80s" stuff, definitely some nice (dark) humour and, dare I say, a concept album (about being Alice?) 😃

How do you link up inventory between bricklink and brick owl? It says add a token but don't know how. Great video BTW.
You need a syncing software. My preference is Brick Freedom (there is a link in my video descriptions which will get you 14 days free commissions). When you set Brick Freedom up you will need what are called an API key and token, which you create on Bricklink. There will be instructions for this on Brick Freedom once you've signed up.

Haha - No it turns out not apparently.
I guess with this hacking incident i guess it allows you to get your inventory up and ready for upload once back up. Just remember it took the post office two weeks to a month to get there house in order i wonder how long bricklink will be down.
I had a 6K item batch ready to go on Friday evening when I found out it was down. I don't typically work weekends except for Sunday evenings prepping for an early Monday. Thankfully Brick Owl and eBay has kept me busy this evening. Hopefully this won't be as bad as the Royal Mail fiasco, but this is exactly why you have multiple revenue streams.
@@BrickArena can't wait for your update in regards to this bricklink hacking and what's your strategy this week if its not resolved especially as bricklink is your main driver on parts and considering a lot of people don't sell or buy on brickowl compared to bricklink.
how you getting on with bricklink getting hacked and them demanding money or they're gonna starts emptying sellers account inventory.
Well as I'm sure you know Bricklink took the site down while they investigate and hopefully add further security measures. I fully expect them to force a password reset on everyone when it comes back. In the meantime I'm getting orders on Brickowl and eBay still. TBH I'm pretty chilled about it. I'm sure they will get it resolved soon and I'd rather they took their time and get it right.

Thanks! The profitability tracker is an excel xlsx file but according to google the you can open it in google sheets. "Press Open, and the Excel file will upload to Google Drive. Click on the file to open it in Google Sheets. This will allow you to edit the . xlsx file using the Google Sheets interface."

Nosey question. Why do you go for the very top Apple kit, when a Mac mini would do your workflow? Keep up the great work
I wouldn't say what I have is the "very top" but it's up there I guess. I assume you're talking specifically about my Mac Studio compared to a Mac mini. Well, I think the Mac mini is a great computer and it's gotten a lot better in recent years but there are still some constraints compared to the Mac Studio. There are less ports (specifically Thunderbolt ports) on the mini, less processing power, less performance cores, lower speed memory etc etc. So, whilst I could probably get by with a Mac mini the Mac Studio will do things considerably quicker and I can have a lot more equipment attached. Keep in mind that I do other things non Lego related too. Plus there is an element of future proofing myself and just liking good quality things.

I love bricklink as a buyer, but I would never be a seller. Too much work. Better off investing in dividend stocks.
I’m not sure it needs to be one or the other. I run a BrickLink store, and its ‘profits’ help fund my pension. I’ve no interest in it ever remotely becoming my primary income.
Just curious but don't you loose money on small orders once you factor in fees?
No, I have a handling charge built into my shipping which covers any fees incurred.
What do you think about the Bricklink being down
It's not good, especially when it's your main source of income. That said, I think they have probably taken the best course of action in closing the site and reviewing security. It may not seem like it right now but they could be protecting us from something worse. Try asking those stores that were hacked. That must be super stressful. Fingers crossed they are confident enough to open up again soon. The worst thing as always is the not knowing what's going on. So much speculation.
@@BrickArena well said, im running bl store too and i was stressed when i found out they are being hacked, but all i can did, was disconnect my paypal from bl xd

Yeah, but lokking at their latest communication they are getting close to re-opening. I think it will be back up Wed Afternoon UK time.
