Tolarian Community College Hey prof, love your vids! Weird thing happened, I didn't get notice of your video even though I have the Bell on all video uploads. I wouldn't have known it was up if I didn't see it on Reddit. Just wanted to let you know if you see this comment.
Hey Professor! Cube & Cubamajigs owner here. If you really crease the flaps that fold into the lock you can eliminate the slight gap so they look snazzier. My only complaint with them is they're smudge magnets, but I suppose that can't be helped :)
As a cube builder who already made a pledge for this interesting product, I am very happy to see Prof reviewing it. Now thousands more will buy in, and we will get an even greater variety of art to choose from. Thank you TCC!
I've been wanting to make a cube for some time now, but I was daunted by the thought of how to store and organize such a monstrosity. These seem like a great product for recreating that draft feel. Thanks professor for your videos, and all you do. This has definitely helped me.
My cube (1/3 Uncommons 2/3 commons) is stored in a small BCW Box) It hasn't been updated since Khans came out though so there are some updates needed for it The basic land for it are stored seperately in an old Fatpack box. The only thing my cube is missing is friends to draft it.
I just picked some of these up from their recent Kickstarter and had to watch this video to see how to open them 😅 The protective film makes it a little difficult. Thanks for this video!
3:12 - Professor, I noticed you pulling out the four little tabs here, and I wanted to ask: Did you try stress testing those at all, or notice how durable they are? I know that tabs like that have worn off of boxes I used a lot before.
Oh, my goodness. Looks like the professor can read my mind once again. Have been looking for something like this for the last week or so. Thanks professor :)
Wow. Cubeamajigs seem incredible. I used to just open booster packs in such a way where I could recycle the packs, but that wouldn't let me store sleeved cards, nor let me "seal" them easily while maintaining resusability. Definitely getting some of these in the future. :D
I don't feel the argument of these making the process of creating booster packs easier holds up, as you'd have to shuffle and create the packs before putting them in the cubeamajig anyways. Regardless, this product is a cool way to emphasize the drafting experience, and I will be picking up some for my own cube.
It is easier as you can have it prepared beforehand and don't need to shuffle everything before starting. Admittedly you could just shuffle up your cube before bringing it somewhere and just divide up the cards from the top, but usually it is customary for people to shuffle everything before dividing up the cards. So normally you would be shuffling twice in a lot of cases (once before the draft, once after). Here you shuffle once (after the draft) and then seal them up in the packs randomly.
this makes no sense at all. Its much more work than just preshuffle and use dividers like everyone would do. Its just more timeconsuming to fuddle around with inserting and opening those packs.
Andrew Sparkes Normal envelopes taper near the bottom and might warp your sleeved cards. Assuming you wanted to measure out and put together 18+ papercraft boxes, that could indeed be an option. Is your time and materials worth less than $1 a box plus shipping?
Yeah, I totally don't get it. Also, if you prepare them beforehand and use let's say half of the prepared packs for the draft, wouldn't you then need to also empty all the remaining packs to reshuffle everything to prepare for the next one? Idk, it seems like a complete waste of time to me. Even the design looks bad and impractical.
Just used them and they are beautiful. Quick tip: The rounding that occurs at the seal is minimized when the proliferated edges on the top and bottom of each pack (2 each four total) are folded with enough pressure to flatten the plastic. In fact, in most of my packs no bulging occurs.
Thanks for this video, prof! I was doubting about this for a while, since the beginning of the campaign, and I couldn't get my head around buying it or not. Then the only thing I have to do is start to build my cube!
Thanks for this video! I really like the idea, and so I backed it on Kickstarter! I just got in sleeves for my peasant cube, and I am hoping to make a good stuff cube soon too. I like that it makes 25 packs which is enough for a full 8-person draft, with one pack left out. I can’t wait to plan out my next cube!!
I currently use Ultra Pro Team Bags for my cube. At $2.99 per 100, it’s not a bad deal. That being said, these Cubeamajigs are gorgeous and definitely a worthwhile investment.
I use the KMC card barrier box 1000 you reviewed in a card storage box video a while back. It's absolutely perfect for a single sleeved 540 cube in particular. One of the 2 top sections is just the right size for about 35 of each basic land, and the other 4 sections fit the 540 cube perfectly; not too snug, not too loose. I also have another of this box for 6 commander decks along with 1 pauper deck in one of the small compartments, and tokens in the other. It's about as compact as you can possibly get too, while still being strong as bull
I’ve been doing something like this for years, but with Ultra Pro Team Bags. I used to carry it in a Kakapopo case, but I’ve since switched to a similar case I found in a Goodwill that has a shoulder strap. Storage isn’t quite as neat and organized as it was with the old case (this case’s removable dividers aren’t optimized for card storage), but it gets the job done and is more comfortable to carry.
A great review with some good point. I didn't know that the small dice fit in there either! That's actually pretty cool. I may pick up a few packs to replace the dice cubes that I carry around!
This is interesting to learn how you have done your set cubes. I have recently gotten to doing this as well, and the only difference that I have done is include 2 of each rare and 1 of each mythic. this creates the more accurate 12% chance of pulling a mythic that mimics your usual chances in a booster box. But love the video as I just learned about this product!
Saw this videp and it has answered my question on how to organise my Pokemon Cube I am looking forward to buying these when they are officialy launched.
This is one of those ideas that is interesting, but not for everyone. Most people don't have the time or inclination to pre-make packs for their cube. And I personally use my cube for a lot of other drafting styles (mostly Winston, but I also like Grid or Solomon on occasion). The people who do want this sort of thing, however, have been looking a while. I've seen people on reddit use anything from ziploc baggies to manila envelopes. It's a small niche to fill, but it is there. And it's good to hear that the quality is there for those who do want them.
you know, I always thought "What the heck is the point of cube when the contents are supposed to mimic Sealed and isn't part of the joy of sealed cracking fresh packs?" and uh... this kinda helps things make sense a bit.
So this was a great video and all but it just led me to be more curious on how to do a block or a set cube. Please make a video breaking down the basic construction of these two cubes and how they work.
These look pretty cool, I think I'll pick up some. Even though I cant see where anyone would argue these are much faster persay. I just think it's a cool product and a cool way to sort out your cube.
3:45 i thought i was the only person that came up with this idea, cool to see others do it too. My formula is make my own set choosing 132 commons, 72 uncommon 48 rares/mythics. 4 each common, 2 each uncommon, 1 each rare.
Cubeamajigs hold: 15 dragon shield cards, 17 matte ultri-pro, 20 non-matte, And 30 unsleeved cards. My advice if using for Jump Start is to either keep in their original pack (which defeats the purpose, or put in only non-matte sleeves.
11 minutes ago "huh, earliest I've ever seen his stuff." *clicks and watches* "about $1 a pack" HOLD UP *on screen* 8 packs = $20 anyways, I love this channel and I just added these on my list of things to buy. keep it up professor
happy to see that their pricing lines up with the needs of players. They sell you 25 packs which is just what you need for a standard 8 people draft + 1 replacement.A certain other company has a quite different opinion on how to price things...
I've backed this on Kickstarter already, but I've been using Team Bags for my cube packs for years and I don't see myself deviating in the near future. I DO like the idea of using themed packs for certain cubes.
If your making a cube, you are bound to be buying sleeves to protect your cards. I just re-use the sticky clear packs that the sleeves come in to recreate the pack opening experience. Maybe a touch big for only 15 cards but not really a big deal since its something you will have around anyway.
I wonder if you could use old audio cassette cases to do the same thing? Just snip off the two little "pillars" that are supposed to fixate the cassette in the case. Would also be less fiddly to deal with than these. You can clearly see Prof struggling to get the cards out of the pack when he opens it, and in a cassette case, the cards would come out with the lid when you open it.
I just came from watching your latest video about the Dragon Shield Cube boxes and I had never heard of cardamajigs at all.....you should do a video about other lovely and helpful MTG websites...
True, but this way you can divide into fifteens at home as opposed to dealing them out while everyone's already sitting around waiting to start. You're not saving any of your time, but the rest of your cube mates will probably appreciate it. Any rate, the biggest benefit I see here isn't time, but with helping everyone keep the face-down piles of cards straight. There's so many cards lying around during a cube draft that it's easy to accidentally grab the wrong pile at some point. With these, you don't have to worry about someone accidentally picking up, say, their pack three instead of the pack that's just been passed to them.
He's assuming that you do not have packs for your cube already. This way, you can put the cards in packs before you go to cube instead of arranging everything once your playgroup is already there. You're right, you aren't saving time overall, just saving time once your playgroup is there. Of course, most of us with cubes already have some makeshift container that houses the packs already (mine being team bags).
It's a bigger deal in cubes where you are keeping a Common/Uncommon/Rare distribution. With those it might be easy to sort out your cube at home, but doing it at your LGS is awkward.
So, for about 130 to 150, you could get a stock if these and baby's first cube from the last video and have a pretty sweet cube setup. That's actually a pretty sweet deal personally speaking.
I hope they legit commission more artists. I would love to order more after the initial kickstarter run on like a website or amazon. Maybe even include sleeves and a nice box for the ultimate cube package? I sure as heck wouldn't mind paying the premium if it's a complete package with good long term value. Thanks for advertising and reviewing this btw
I am making a new format that is made to be quick + like 10 minutes there are 2 players each gets a special booster ( like the cubamagig thing ) they will have 5 lands 5 creatures and 5 other cards to heal then the players will pick randomly one pack and open it and will put 8 away and then will play normally getting a new card each round milling is an amazing idea but most of the cards are made to do damage ( the players will have 10 health )
How to build a good set cube, and resources and ideas on how to do it should be your next video. I want to build a Tarkir cube, but it is a daunting task.
Currently using a custom box from design craft industries. its been amazing. I like the Idea of these but wish they opened and closed through a different mechanism. they take up lots of space after opening. I think these are ideal for block cubes as you mentioned but part of the fun of regular cube is dealing out/swapping the packs! all part of the cube experience!
I'd argue this takes longer because this is a completely solo task since the point would be to do it beforehand. When friends come to cube we all shuffle and make packs together.
In the video at the 53 second point when you show the boxes in an Ultimate Guard arkhive, there are only 22 Cubeamajig boxes. Wouldn't it need to be 24 for a full small cube?
I love your explanations of cube at varying levels. Though something I'd like to see is an overview of commander cube. I've drafted one before an it is quite fun, though it is more expensive since it requires more cards usually. Also there is a surprising lack of tips on how to build one.
I have been looking for a product like this since I made a conspiracy cube. I originally used wage envelopes to create my packs, but after a few drafts I wanted a more permanent solution, as I would have to buy more envelopes after my friends ripped open the packs. I look forward to when these come out of kickstarter, and to see if they ship internationally
Seems cool, I love draft but haven’t been playing for long enough to have a proper cube, I did end up making a set cube of unstable that still needs to be sleeved up and this might be something cool to try it out with.
Is there a better way to maintain a Jumpstart battle box than with clear cubeamajigs? If yall got any other ideas I'm happy to hear them... Now I just have to figure out the ideal container for 46 cubeamajigs...
I package my sleeved cube cards in resealable sandwich bags. I can get 50 of these buggers for $1.50 plus tax, and they last forever. Even if they break, replacing them isn't an expensive issue. Then, I store my packs in a .50 caliber ammo crate which I got at a local surplus store for $20. These ammo crates store the whole packaged cube and enough sleeved lands for eight people. Highly water resistant and immensely sturdy. They can also store eight sleeved edh decks with enough room for a playmat and several containers of dice. Only downside is that they can get hefty when full, but a little exercise never hurt anyone, right?
Seeing your image in those cube videos made me think of how your hair situation is much like the phases of the moon. As we view your content, we see you grow it longer and longer...and then at some point it gets shortened and begins again.
I use standard coin bags from the bank. Stick a piece of card in there and you’re golden. Best off all it’s free and looks a lot less fiddly than this. Knowing my playgroup somebody would find a way to break that plastic too.
Would be nice to know how many of these fit in the various product. From a standard BCW white box to the Ultimate Guard Archive and the SupremeOneRow. I own a Supreme Game Chest and I want to fit 24 of these in the bottom compartment and keep my basics/tokens in the top compartment.
I played a draft game before and the shuffling was just annoying luckily there was only 4 people playing and not more as then the set up shuffling takes a bit more time before the drafting and playing can start
These look super cool. I'm debating whether or not to get 8+ battle decks from Card Kingdom or getting a cube + a product like this. I'm mostly interested in kitchen table Magic with friends and not so much Standard tournaments.

Tolarian Community College also do Amonkhet block cube pls 😃
Any chance of getting a Cube Tutor list for this Prof?
Tolarian Community College Hey prof, love your vids! Weird thing happened, I didn't get notice of your video even though I have the Bell on all video uploads. I wouldn't have known it was up if I didn't see it on Reddit. Just wanted to let you know if you see this comment.
Not as much as I want to see your sub count pass the official MTG channel. 😂
Excited to see more about it
Very cool idea, even cooler to see a company take the risk for a niche crowd, and coolest to see that they're reasonable priced.
Hey Professor! Cube & Cubamajigs owner here. If you really crease the flaps that fold into the lock you can eliminate the slight gap so they look snazzier. My only complaint with them is they're smudge magnets, but I suppose that can't be helped :)
I love the name Cubeamajigs and very much would like to hear you say it again.
As a cube builder who already made a pledge for this interesting product, I am very happy to see Prof reviewing it. Now thousands more will buy in, and we will get an even greater variety of art to choose from. Thank you TCC!

evileyeball I am always happy to draft, but I live in Denmark.

I didn't know I needed these... But I totally need these.
Already backed them and ordered a CardKingdom starter cube a week ago, really nice to see your reviews of both confirm I made a good choice!
3:12 - Professor, I noticed you pulling out the four little tabs here, and I wanted to ask: Did you try stress testing those at all, or notice how durable they are? I know that tabs like that have worn off of boxes I used a lot before.
this definitely needs to be tested and i agree!

Making a cube is definitely on my to do list.
Props to the professor for using Tarrasque cubamajigs. I actually cannabalized one of my deck building card game boxes for my cube
I don't feel the argument of these making the process of creating booster packs easier holds up, as you'd have to shuffle and create the packs before putting them in the cubeamajig anyways. LedPESRule they are a huge waste of time. Just extra tat.
Just used them and they are beautiful. Quick tip: The rounding that occurs at the seal is minimized when the proliferated edges on the top and bottom of each pack (2 each four total) are folded with enough pressure to flatten the plastic. In fact, in most of my packs no bulging occurs.
This is a triumph of the free market! I would never have thought of this product, but now that I know of it, it just makes sense. :)
I enjoy how there's no drama on this channel unlike others....QUDOS TO YOU!
I feel like this was designed for a product that didnt exist... now that jumpstart is released I feel like its their time to shine
Bought a pack of 25 cubeamajigs just for a booster box of jumpstart. I'm hoping the extra will hold a full set of poker cards.
I just bought a couple 25 packs for my boxes too. Didn’t even think about a product like this until Jumpstart was announced.
I currently use Ultra Pro Team Bags for my cube. At $2.99 per 100, it’s not a bad deal. That being said, these Cubeamajigs are gorgeous and definitely a worthwhile investment.
Here from your video today! Will be picking these up!
These are amazing! I'm building my first cube now, going to check out that videos too!
I'd absolutely love to get some of these when I get my Digimon tcg booster box and since they have clear and black/white packs.
Over a year later, I cannot seem to find the Innistrad cube video :(
A great review with some good point. I didn't know that the small dice fit in there either! That's actually pretty cool. I may pick up a few packs to replace the dice cubes that I carry around!

Apropos of nothing, you are about 2000 away from having more subscribers than the Mother Ship!! Can’t wait for that video!!
As a Yugioh player, this seems like a cool way to separate you extra deck and side deck from the main deck and each other.
I am thinking of making a yugioh cube myself.
you know, I always thought "What the heck is the point of cube when the contents are supposed to mimic Sealed and isn't part of the joy of sealed cracking fresh packs?" and uh... this kinda helps things make sense a bit.
You draft tho. It’s nothing like sealed
The prof sure does love the word apotheosis very much
Yes! Finally! I've been using those clear ones...
Never built a cube but now I'm interested good video :)
I was thinking I wanted something like this before! Came close to trying to make some, this makes things easier :p
So this was a great video and all but it just led me to be more curious on how to do a block or a set cube. Please make a video breaking down the basic construction of these two cubes and how they work.
Interesting product. Fantastic review as always prof!
Grabbing 50 of these. Thanks for the info Prof.
Sadly, I wouldn't get much use out of these. But wow, they are quite an awesome product. Great video as always, Professor!
I love the freedom and individual expression in magic: the gathering!
I like knowing this exists. Thank you.
Gonna get some of these for my DC deck builder to help with randomizing it
I’m currently creating a draftable version of The Dark (15 cards instead of 12) so these will be a god send.
I've been playing magic for years, but I've never really cubed before. I might have to get involved now.
Cubeamajigs hold:
15 dragon shield cards,
17 matte ultri-pro,
20 non-matte,
And 30 unsleeved cards.
My advice if using for Jump Start is to either keep in their original pack (which defeats the purpose, or put in only non-matte sleeves.
That new music is quite nice)
Too late. I already pledged to their Kickstarter. Beat you to it Brian. Hah!
11 minutes ago "huh, earliest I've ever seen his stuff."
*clicks and watches*
"about $1 a pack"
HOLD UP
*on screen* 8 packs = $20
anyways, I love this channel and I just added these on my list of things to buy. keep it up professor
He said from about 1 a pack up to 2 a pack.....
Also, you can get 25 for 30 dollars... or 50 for 50
"Range from a dollar each to a little over a dollar each"
Except if you buy 8, then it's almost 3 dollars each.
Because you're paying for shipping regardless of size.
Kogai Don't buy eight because that'd be stupid for the proposed propose.
happy to see that their pricing lines up with the needs of players.
This vid makes me excited for cube again
Thanks Brian! These look awesome!

I took up woodworking as a hobby so I could design a box to house my cube along with the lands, tokens and dice for a self contained cube experience.
I wonder if you could use old audio cassette cases to do the same thing? Just snip off the two little "pillars" that are supposed to fixate the cassette in the case. thanks, your reviews are great contribution to us!! good video.
Awesome products - and Cardamajigs is a great company.
How to build a good set cube, and resources and ideas on how to do it should be your next video. I want to build a Tarkir cube, but it is a daunting task.
these Cubeamajig packs look great for storing tokens for constructed decks.
Very useful review, thanks man!
You are always of some help Prof ;)
Thanks for the video Prof
I'd argue this takes longer because this is a completely solo task since the point would be to do it beforehand. When friends come to cube we all shuffle and make packs together.
idk if this would be popular, but i would really like to see cube at a pro tour for the day 2 draft. highly unlikely to happen, but would be fun imo
In the video at the 53 second point when you show the boxes in an Ultimate Guard arkhive, there are only 22 Cubeamajig boxes. Wouldn't it need to be 24 for a full small cube?
Okay I need these for my Un-Cube asap!
I love your explanations of cube at varying levels. Though something I'd like to see is an overview of commander cube. I've drafted one before an it is quite fun, though it is more expensive since it requires more cards usually. Also there is a surprising lack of tips on how to build one.
These would be great for my Conspiracy Cube!
I've actually wanted to learn from you one thing... how to determine valiable archetypes for guild colors.
I have been looking for a product like this since I made a conspiracy cube. I originally used wage envelopes to create my packs, but after a few drafts I wanted a more permanent solution, as I would have to buy more envelopes after my friends ripped open the packs.
I look forward to when these come out of kickstarter, and to see if they ship internationally
i def agree that the box flaps could be improved, perhaps they could do what the classic UP deck boxes have.
Seems cool, I love draft but haven’t been playing for long enough to have a proper cube, I did end up making a set cube of unstable that still needs to be sleeved up and this might be something cool to try it out with.
could these potentially hold 20 sleeved, e.g. Jumpstart decks?
Hi prof! Is the list of your innistrad cube on cubetutor?
Anyone know what the long white tray is @2:33? Thanks!
I wonder if you could reuse the art of opened booster packs to decorate your cubamajigs if you have a set or block cube?
Professor, which cubes you own? which would you like to have? which is your favorit?
I did this with the cardboard packs from modern Masters 2015. Good experience.
*Edit* obviously doesn't work with sleeved cards
