I could just as easily say you need to be smart, innovative, charismatic, wise, and hard-working to make it, but the truth is, you don't need all of those traits to get on top.
I dislike cheating rich and spoiled rich kids as much as you do, but at some point you have to realize that different human beings check off different boxes.
Even if we don't pay out money based on meritocracy (How would you? Merits are subjective), people who work hard make up 100% of the elite. People who inherited money and don't work further never get back to the elite stage.
Point is, I never said hard work and savings alone can get you super rich; diversify your portfolio and keep learning. pssst....rich people don't miss filings. You can do exactly what they do too, which is to take advantage of tax loopholes.
Unfortunately for you, said loopholes often involve ownership of a company. You can do it as well, but you first have to build a company that has enough revenue to pay for your stuff (which you then write off).
Oh, and you need to convince your employers to hire your company instead of hiring you.
Rich people ALWAYS file taxes. They just end up paying less as a percentage of income (revenue) after filing.
