Correction! at 4:27 we show a choke with the Alpine Butterfly and we have the body of the Ultralink in the Butterfly, it shoulf actually be reversed. The pin should be in the butterfly and the UltraLink should go around the running rope.
I bought it after your first video and have been using it with the sheave in the butterfly, just feels solid and safe that way for both climbing and rappelling. I did read the manual, it also says to not load it diagonally so that's another reason to have the sheave in to stop it from turning.
Thanks for sharing! Take care!
My favorite workshop channel, greetings from Poland!!!
Hello there! Thank you!
Used it today as shown at 6:17, worked perfectly. Thanks Bino.
Nice great to hear!
Too many gadgets in today’s climbing world, I’m a firm believer of keeping it simple!
All the new gadgets make climbing and tree work easier. Although I will agree that in certain situations/applications, the keep it simple stupid method is effective.
@@alotl1kevegas860 as a 70 year old, who still climbs, I have moved ahead with some newer things but when I look at climbing belts, and what people have on them, it’s almost laughable with all the crap that they carry in the tree with them
That is true lots of inventions but it is changing the way we climb and there are lots of benefits to your body. The Ultra Link and the Quickie are taking the place of the friction saver. I think it's a good trade off the friction save is bigger compared to the both of them.
The kiss rule works for many things keep it simple stupid...
Great video Bino. It seems that the sheave in the apline butterfly like you have at 6:10 has a greater bend radius on the rope, which would help make your rope last longer.
Nice point thank you for sharing!
Thanks for all the great information and your careful thoughts. Great advice.
My pleasure, and you're welcome!
Then why have swen eyes?
So if I have a seen eye the sheave fits snug inside can I use it that way?
I don't believe it could disconnect if it fits inside.
Do you think the Notch quickie might be safer than Ultralink in the described scenario? I mean the slick pin has to go through many actions to fail, other than that one pin just popping out .
I not sure if it's safer. I feel that both of them are very safe.
What are the "odds" of it failing? Accidentally pressing the button and turning the axle to the exact position to pull the pin out at the same time? Mighty slim odds, I'd say.
I think so especially after they fixed it.
5:17 this is dangerous, not safe when hang on super high top tree.
If you are using a proper tie in It's very safe.
@@BinoH Agree, Mr. Bino. I bought my ISC ultralink, is otw from HK. (expensive 😥)
yes but it is nice and you will like it@@hideakyschan9288
Easiest thing to do is just don’t use one
I bought one I love it
Great to hear! Take care!
So it’s obviously another rubbish thanks Bino I will avoid!
