Its a wild card what gets released physically and how many copies get printed or even reprinted. My kid wanted Stray and Goat Simulator 3 for the Nintendo Switch for Christmas. I didn't want to chance it so I pre-ordered them both. When I went to pick them up the two stores in my local area had a few of each game available on the store shelf but I bet they will disappear fast being so close to christmas.
I have waited it out to release for games in the past and the game I was waiting for was either sold out fast before I got to the store, the publisher didn't bother to release a physical copy in my country or the store didn't bother to order any copies of the game.
Some games where I am in the world don't get physical releases or only have a small window for physical copies to buy so I have to import overseas online to get a physical copy like Ebay, Video Games Plus or Play Asia.

@@BarnesArcade That sucks it must be a popular game in your town? The WWE has gained a heap of popularity these past few years. Funnily enough we have a ton of copies available for Xbox and PlayStation. Big W has had one Xbox copy sitting on the shelf since it got released. I recall most stores have a heap of AEW copies also. I am not a huge fan of 2k's wrestling games full of gambling micro transactions. The previous games were released buggy and broken which wasn't great. I miss the old days with WWF/WWE and WCW wrestling games on the Nintendo 64, Playstation/2 original Xbox games. Used to play WWE RAW 2 quite a lot with friends and family. Smack down here comes the pain my friend had and we would play every time I went over to his house to hang out.
